Ruling SP pokemon

Okay, so my friend tells me that a Blaziken SP Lv X does not count as basic while in play. And I told him that it does. Because if Lv Xs are just upgrades from their previous stages, they would be considered Basic. Because the Blaziken SP is basic. So if my Machamp uses take down, he is KOed right? Because he's a Basic Pokemon in play.

Also if he plays a trainer/supporter card that allows him to search for basic, doesn't that mean that he can't search for Lv X SP pokemon? Cause they don't necessarily count as Basic pokemon in the deck? ex. He plays Pokemon Collector and searches for 2 Blaziken SP and Blaziken SP Lv X? Right or wrong, please lmk because this would be beneficial to all. ;)

While on the field, Lv Xs take the stage of their previous form. Since Blaziken FB is a Basic Pokemon, so is Blaziken FB Lv X while on the field.

However, while in the deck Lv Xs are neither basic pokemon nor evolved pokemon. They are Simply Lv X Pokemon while in the deck, so Pokemon Collector could not search for them.
