Ruling Special Darkness Energy + Multipliable Damage

Hey there everyone, I had a quick question about how the +10 damage boost of special Darkness Energy works if the Pokemon it is attached to is doing damage which can be multiplied.

For example:

My Zoroark (DE71) has 2 Darkness Specials attached. I use its Dark Rush attack when it has 3 10-damage counters on it (30 damage):

Dark Rush, 20x: Does 20 damage times the number of damage counters on this Pokemon.

When I calculate damage, would the attack do:

a. (20 x 3) + 20 for a total of 80 damage; OR
b. (20 + 20) x 3 for a total of 120 damage

If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it! :)

You would do the first attack for 80 damage (20x3)+20. The Special Darks add the additional damage after calculating the base (initial) amount of damage.

dmaster out.

Already in the FAQ:

Q. If I use a multi-hit attack, such as Gengar SF's Poltergeist, and I have an Expert Belt and/or PlusPower affecting that Pokemon, does the damage get added per hit, or to the final damage accounting for all hits?
A. The final damage, so it would be (30 * X) +20 with Expert Belt, and not (30 + 20) * X. This applies to any multi-hit attack; if X is at least 1, then you add the additional damage to the total, not to each hit. (If X is 0, the attack does 0 damage, since to do more damage, you have to be doing some to begin with.)
