Ruling Special Energy concerns with Aegislash-EX

Normally, a Pokémon that has any Special Energy attached to it wouldn't be able to damage Aegislash-EX. However, if an attack required you to discard Energy, would that player be able to the damage anyway? For example, if Blaziken had 2 Fire Energy and a Double Colorless attached and used Burning Shot, could it discard the DCE, and then do damage to Aegislash-EX?

No. Damage is done first, and then the other effects of attacks are applied. So you would do the damage before discarding the Energy, meaning that the damage would be blocked by Aegislash EX's Ability.
