Ruling Speed Slide/Shot vs. Special Metal Energy

both of these attacks contain the phrase "This attack's damage isn't affected by weakness, resistance, poke-powers, poke-bodies or any other effects on that pokemon."

So my question is: does the special metal energy reduce the damage of these attacks by 10?

basically i'm not sure if the effect of the special metal energy is considered an "effect on that pokemon" or if it's considered an effect on the energy, and therefore unaffected by speed slide/shot.

thanks in advance for your help!

They are considered effects on the Defending Pokemon and are ignored when figuring out the damage.

There's no such thing as an effect on the Energy. Effects rest on either a Pokemon or a player.

The Energy creates an continuous effect on the Pokemon it's attached to as long as it's attached. Thus it's ignored by Speed Slide.
