Speed Zekrom (Zekrom/Pachirisu/Shaymin) HGSS-On

Hey Pokebeach! This deck can very well be the next donk deck for its shear speed and ability to destory early game.

The strategy is to use Pachirisu to attach 2 Electric energy to Pachi and use Shaymin's Pokepower "Celebration Wind" to move the energies from Shaymin to Zekrom. Then attach an energy and use "Bolt Strike" for 120 damage, and use Plus-Powers and other Damage increasing Trainers/Supporters.

Now here are some Pros and Cons of the deck:

Pros:
Can cause a T1-T2 donk easily
High HP for a starter
Very Fast

Cons:
Hurts itself while attacking
Can deck out mid-game

So heres the list!

Pokemon- 14
4 Zekrom
3 Pachirisu
3 Shaymin
1-1-1 Ampharos
1 Cleffa

T/S/S- 30
4 Pokemon Collector
4 Plus Power
3 Duel Ball
3 Seeker
2 Switch
4 Professor Juniper
2 Energy Retrival
2 Rare Candy
3 Junk Arm
3 Professor Oaks New Theory

Energy- 16
13 Electric
3 Rescue

Match Ups-

Reshiboar: 50-50

Early game, Zekrom can donk and or take a good prize lead, as long as Zekrom dosnt deck itself out.

Blastgatr/Blastzel: 80-20

With Zekroms shear speed and Blastoise's terrible weakness, Zekrom is sure to hurt Blastoise. ALOT!

Donphan: 40-60

If Zekrom could KO the active Phanphy T1, this game could be close!

Overall, the deck has fair matchups and isnt affected alot by Ampahros. For the Donphan matchup, I was thinking of a 1-1 tech of Lanturn. Tell me your opinion!

Ampharos is used to place extra counters onto Reshiram to get it in 1HKO range.

Draw is not needed..... However, Magnazone could be a back-up attacker, but he is so Bulky and takes out 7 spots (2-1-2 Line and 2 Candies)

I like to use ampharos...supporters/trainers usually help me enough with getting what I need, so I don't have much use for magnazone's draw power. and ampharos helps a ton when battling reshiram and other zekrom, so my zekrom can OHKO them no problem.

True, I just like the speed varients. I will replace Magnazone with Ampahros, but should I tech in Lanturn for Donphan games?

I have both a zekdonk deck (almost identical to this, actually) and a reshiboar deck. both of them have ampharos prime as a bench tech, but I am constantly questioning if I should replace ampharos prime with lanturn prime for the exact reason, as well as a heavier hitter to reshiram.

I honestly still don't know what would be best, despite many discussions with people in my league as well as on these forums. right now I'm still running with ampharos prime because it works on the bench and helps for the donk and will help against every deck, not just donphan.

my reshiram deck doesn't have to deal with the disadvantage of being on the worse side of the weakness and resistance against donphan like zekrom does, so ampharos is a much better choice for that. but with your zekrom deck, since donphan's really the only threat to zekrom, I think lanturn could be a better choice than ampharos when going against donphan. but ampharos would definitely be the better choice against every other deck.

so it's up to you bud, I gotta playtest both ways with my zekrom deck once rotation hits. right now, donphan isn't nearly as popular as it will be once evryone's HGSS-on, so it's all theoretical and speculation until it's actually tried :/

until rotation, I'd go with ampharos, then after rotation, we'll see.

Is three IQ needed in this deck? Why not take one out for a communication. That way you can get that one Pokemon you need
