Ok people, this thread is simple. It is to fuel the on going conversation about

How Gengar Prime/ Lost world is NOT broken.
How SPs are going to be dominated by Vileplume.
How SPs are going to be doiminated by Machamp.

if there is any other controversial topics that arise, then feel free to discuss.

Here is an opener...

A recent conversation about a turn 2 Gengar and Vileplume can spell the end for SPs. an active spiritomb and a pokemon collector/ call energy can be devastating...

an active spiritomb and a benched Machop or Phanphy is trouble for Gengar prime/ mew. especially if the Machamp or Donphan player runs SSU and search cards or has a way to discard pokemon from their hands.

Lost world ain't broken. if the Six prizes thing is so fast to beat. people might play decks that take 2 prizes from KOs and catch up.

I think that lost world is very good, although I dont think its as good as everyone has been thinking it is. But the other thing about gengar prime, is that even if they can play around you, there are no sneak moves that they can make. and after a judge/lookers/spiritomb, if they end up with like their DGX or something, theyre screwed

The 2 things about SP's being dominated by Vileplume and Machamp are true, in LuxChomp's case. To beat them, they have to tech in Dialga G lvl X/Toxitank respectivily. As a consequince for adding them in, they will drastically hurt there speed. DialgaChomp on the other hand, is already based on Dialga so there goes Vileplume. And since most Dialga's already run Stadiums, they simply put in Toxitank with a psychic is they weren't already running one. Therefore, I agree that certain SP's get hindered by Machamp and Vileplume, while other's don't.

And to lost world, Dialga G just laughs in the sets face. Deafen for 30. No Stadium, No body. Honestly, these cards will just raise Dialga's popularity.

Gengar Prime / Lost World combo is good especially if it gets set-up T1 but it isn't exactly broken and there are quite a few ways to stop it. The deck itself is very fragile as everything has petty low HP plus the deck deals no damage. For the combo to be working at its fullest the player will need at least 2/3 energy attach so the gengar can send multiple pokemon from the opponents hand to lost zone. If you can keep at 1 pokemon in your hand then it will take them 6 turns to get 6 pokemon in the lost then on the next turn they win by playing Lost World. This kind of deck would seem to lose against speedy decks like Luxchomp, Kingdra and Jumpluff. Kingdra and Jumpluff can both get set up T1 (Providing they go 2nd), if they are able to do this the Gengar player will have some obvious problems keeping up. Disruption based decks like Sable-Lock also give Gengar Prime problems as it can hit it for weakness via Honchkrow G, Hochkrow SV and Weavile UD and it can ruin its set-up. Now if your deck can't hit for weakness / isn't speedy (Able to theoretically set up by T1) / can't disrupt / doesn't run Spiritomb / has mediocre damage output, then you have a problem.

Sure Machamp can walk all over SP decks but can it do the same to every good deck in the format? I highly doubt it. No decent player would dare run a Machamp deck just to counter Luxchomp though with DCE it can utilise Rage but you need to be near death for a sure KO on anything, which is why Machamp will remain as tech card until the release of Machamp Prime which might make a Machamp deck viable again. ( Even though Luxchomp is a big deck which doest always run Unown G Machamp still saw pretty much no play since CC)

Lostgar is a very good combo. Yes there are ways aroung it but, it is a fast combo. Genplume has one thing to say to Dialgachomp, "Level Down". It stills works. Most people run 2 Plumes and recuvory.

IDK about "Broken" but Gengar/Lost World is definitely good. However, I think there'll be some kinda weird ruling on it, just a feeling. I would never play those cards, for one reason: it doesn't seem fun. I play the game to have fun, and moving Pokemon from your Opponent's hand to Lost Zne then playing one card seems really, really, boring :/ Also, as Bob Franklin said, you can just tech in a Dialga G with a Metal ENergy and a Gain.

I think one of the reasons why Machamp so no play was the fact that Unown G could be played. Now that players are sure that there is no protection (other than Toxicroak), Machamp will definitely be played.

OK we need to stop making threads about the Lost World, it's not broken! Just more hard to play.

SP is dominated by Mewtwo Lv. X and Machamp, nuff said! I liked it better before SP. The classical, place-Stage1-on-your-basic-Pokemon-days. Since Platinum, everybody has gone power-mad with "SP!!SP!!SP!!SP!!SP!!SP!!SP!!!" I'll be glad when the next rotation comes by, then I might start playing TCG again.

I dunno if this would work as a counter, but Gengar prime could be beaten by an Umbreon with 1 special {D} an e-belt and crobat drop you could get a 1HKO on gengar. I don't know if this would work or not.

Absol G Lv.X is also a counter. a lone ebelted Houndoom UD spells disaster, as it KOs both Mew and Gengar with special darks.
