RSE/FRLG Squirtli's FireRed No Evolution Run! - First Gym!

I've done a few runs, such as nuzlockes, solos, and a no-shadow run through Colosseum in the past, so I've decided to do another with FireRed. I will be playing through the game using only unevolved Pokémon that can evolve (meaning I CAN use Pokémon like Tentacool, Ekans, and Bellsprout, but I CAN NOT use Tangela, Kangaskhan, or Electabuzz). I'm going to let you guys pick my Pokémon, so here are a few general rules:

- First post picks my starter.
- I need one Pokémon that can Fly and one Pokémon that can Surf (or one that can do both, but I don't think there is one in FireRed).
- I will NOT use Caterpie, Weedle, or Magikarp.
- I will NOT use two Pokémon of the same type.
- Don't give me too many Pokémon that are obtained very close to each other.
- If I think you're being stupid, I can refuse your Pokémon.
- All Pokémon suggested must be obtainable in the wild.

Instead of updating this by just telling what happens as I play along, I'll be recording this as I play. For those of you that don't feel like/don't have the time to watch, I'll have a short list of what happens in each part.

Normally, I would use Zubat, but I'm not going to use two Flying-types, and I would still need something with Fly. Also, Pikachu is evolved D:

Scyther. It CAN evolve, but not before you beat E4, so that counts, right?

Yes, Scyther is usable because it evolves.

Charmander, Scyther, Tentacool, and Clefairy so far. Scyther and Clefairy are going to take forever to find D: Oh well, that's fine, it's an interesting team.

Can't use two Normal-types, so no Porygon...

Wait, isn't Clefairy an evolved Pokemon? Because Cleffa exists?

... Oops. So that's Charmander, Porygon, Scyther, Tentacool, and Magnemite. I need one more Pokémon and it has to be able to Fly.

Well, you said you didn't want to use Zubat because it's a flying type and you still need one that can fly, but Scyther is flying type and can't use Fly too...

Give me something else and I'll be more than willing to switch it. The fact that it's mainly a bug rather than flying is why I was keeping it, but if you have another, Scyther's move set in Gen 3 is bad enough that I'll switch anytime lol.

Pidgey is a flying that can Fly. So, there you go.

^But since Pidgey is also normal-type, it conflicts with Porygon (unless he doesn't mind that since a lot of people don't care for the normal type on those birds). But if you want a flying type that can use Fly, you either stick with the Normal-Flying or you can use Aerodactyl (but that one comes too late). Anyway, since you said that the suggested pokémon must be obtainable in the wild, you could take out Porygon too (since it is only obtainable through the game corner).

Whatever normal-flying pokémon you end up with (I'll leave that suggestion for another member), I'd like to suggest another Pokémon for the team: Rhyhorn

Umm... I think I might have this worked out kinda-ish? I don't really care about the Normal on Pidgey :/ I probably should've said "without trading" or "in the game" more than "in the wild."
