I haven't played in years and years. Since Fossil, but here is my attempt at a deck that emphasises control and burning your opponents down slowly. Hopefully it isn't to bad.

My main goal is using Warp Points, Victreebel, Zangoose, and Muk to control the opponent's bench. Using Spiritomb and my trainers to bring Pokemon out. Then Gengar, Lickitung, and Unown to either make me draw or my opponent to discard controlling hands.

Also I'll take naming suggestions lol.

You might want to consider Memory Berry, it helps with Victreebel. You can put down Victreebel, attach Memory Berry, and use inviting scent to work with Victreebel's Poke-power. And why is Scyther in there? You use too much of a variety. I would just run Victreebel and Muk, with a Zangoose tech to take care of Garchomp X. Run a 3-3 line of each, and 2 Zangoose, along with Uxie LA.

My Victree doesn't have a Poke-Power though.

And why is Scyther in there?

Since I just started playing again I'm really low on cards. So far I've bought two premades (one for my girlfriend and I) and like 10 boosters.

So once I get the 3-3 of each I should drop the Spiritombs and Unown ?s? I was told to hold them since it'd help my get Pokemon out faster and draw quicker.

I'll start buying those boosters though till I get my Victreebels and Muks.

You know you can just buy these cards online or trade for them instead of trying to pull them out of boosters. I'm not going to mess with your idea but just use it with Muk if you plan to use the TM Victreebel.

Yeah for some reason I thought they would be insanely priced on ebay. I'll start getting cards for the next tourny.

Well, if you want to run that, the Pokemon line should look something like this:
3-2-3 Victreebel(TM-TM-LA)
3-3(or 2-2) Muk(UD-UD)
2-2 Dugtrio PL(this really helps if your opponent wants to retreat, however this is optional)
http://pokemon.marriland.com/images/cards/pl/big/pl_24_dugtrio.jpg
2 Zangoose PL(for Garchomp C X)
2 Uxie LA(Set-up)

As for Trainers, Plus Power and Memory Berry should work for that, as well as the staple Trainers ans Supporters. Good luck!
