'Steam Siege' Prerelease Promos!

Much better than Tyranitar being a pre release like it was last time. I got it in one of mine and it just sat on the side lines because of its ridiculous energy requirements and the evolution line needed. I kind of hope I get Volcanion or Hoopa. Unless I somehow pull of Clawtizer and Clawtizer BREAK.
 
Definitely want Volcanion. I plan to run Volcanion / Volcanion-EX / Flareon-EX in the new format and would actually *use* it.

Actually, they all look cool. I want them all.
 
Wow, I really am hoping to get that Yanmega in my box. It looks amazing! All of them do in fact. I love the alternative arts on these maybe more than the actual cards. :p
 
Sweet. I'm happy when we get promo cards of Pokemon who have never been on promos before- so Yanmega and Clawitzer at least. Volcanion too, but he's bound to get another promo at some point, and Hoopa we already have like 3 of.

But I'll buy them all second hand.
 
well as we are continuing the trend set by fates the 23 card evo pack will have 1 of these 4 promos, 11 cards based on which promo you get and the other 11 from one of the 3 other possible.

the types will be grass, fire, water and psychic, so what are the most likely poke for each one
grass: likely a shiftry line, possible tangrowth
fire: infernape line, possible pyroar
water: samurott, maybe gastrodon
psychic: nidoking or chandelure my moneys on nidoking
 
I wasn't that far off the mark with my guesses. Pokemon with BREAKs and Legendaries. I'm guessing this will be the norm going forward if they keep up the four promo thing. Might go for Volcanions just because Volcanion is my favourite legendary, but eh, don't care too much. (Good thing, too. I STILL haven't tracked down a White Kyurem from the last one. >.>)

I have a sealed one ;) and pulled 2 more out of 3 prerelease packs... all of them were White Kyurem

nope you get one of them a code 11 cards based off of the pokemon (trainers and pokemon of the same types) 11 cards from another one of the 3 "decks" and 4 packs as well as an awesome deck box ;)

Nice! I wasn't expecting Hoopa or Volcanion, as they are our theme deck cards, but I am glad we can get a non-shattered holo of them (Of course, with different artwork). Can't complain, although I was hoping Toxicroak would be one.
 
Good choice, TPCi. Those cards are playable. For the promos, these 4 are XY144-147 (143 is Magikarp, and 148 is Shaymin-EX), this means that Rayquaza and Azelf are XY141 and 142

It hard for the Promo collectors to collect those 4 because you'll obtain 1 promo per prelrease, and it is random

My only issue with Clawtizer as a prerelease promo is that it's role with it's ability is meant for structured play requiring both Megas and Special Energies. The other three are very good choices

Yeah Tyranitar was only chose for it's popularity.
 
I went to 2 pre-releases, and in the second got the Volcanion promo and pulled another Volcanion. I also used the Rapidash that required discarding energies. Went 4-0. :)

That card will see so much play when Blacksmith rotates, it and Xernaes (and max elixer) will be the best energy acceleration in the format.

In normal play, you are absolutely right about Clawtizer. In pre release play though it hardly matters. What matters is that it is a quick stage one Pokémon that can hit relatively hard.

For the record I got Volcanion, then ended up wrangling to get Hoopa and Clawtizer as well. All I need to figure out how to get is Yanmega. I think that's the one thing I dislike about the current structure, that there are four promo cards each to chase after rather than only one, and that is if one isn't concerned about the STAFF version where it would then be eight.

Good luck getting Yanmega it seemed to be one of the best at prerelease. That free retreat cost.

Guess I shouldn't have spoke about Clawitzer because guess what my promo was? the Samurott line was good though. All four types had some good lines for prerelease though.
