This question was posed to me not an hour ago, but its a strange one none the less...

Bebe's Search states to (first) "Put 1 card from your hand on top of your deck" then "Search for one Pokemon and ad it to your hand". Now seeing as you dont have to actually search for a pokemon - could Bebe's search be theoretically used to put a card onto an empty deck zone and then left as is?

Per the Compendium the answer is yes.
Q. Can I play Bebe's Search with no cards in my deck?
A. Yes. When you put a card on your deck as the first step, you will be able to do the search in the second step. (May 8, 2008 PUI Rules Team)
you're allowed to failsearch your deck regardless (since the contents are not public knowledge), so you can put any 1 card back, Pokemon or non-Pokemon, then fail the search. (However, I don't know if you can shuffle a 1-card deck XD)

You can, but I'd imagine that it would be a little difficult. lol

But just to add to that, the first part of the Bebe Search is being completed properly and now that you have a card in your deck you get to search your deck. And as DNA said, you would then obviously fail the search.

In some ways its kind of silly that this works because you know that the search will be failed before you even do it, but never the less...
