Substitute N for Caitlin?

So ima just start with the reason concerning this thread being made,
Next saturday my league is having a tournament, I have 1 N and 3 proxy N's. Yes easy solution buy N so i ordered 3 (the last in stock) off of toy wiz http://www.toywiz.com on sunday through pay pal and got the pay pal email noting the transaction. I am yet to hear back from toy wiz (today being tuesday) and am fine waiting another day to hear back saying my order has been processed and shipped.. I natuturally forsee the worst outcome being complications arise and i am unable to get them in time (the low quantity of N cards around) and if that is the outcome here is the question of this thread.

Would Caitlin be the best substitute for N in a Darkrai Hydragion deck? In the case where running 4 N's is not available and it is still necessary to have 3 more supporters in place of those 3 missing N cards for this upcoming tournament? Thank you

If you already run max Juniper maybe add one Caitlin and a couple Colress. Caitlin's ok-ish in my opinion but I think Colress is usually pretty good.

I don't really like this supporter, but in my opinion Hugh is the closest card to N. Like N you can make the opponent's hand go down to 5 after a turn from tropical beaching or juniper-ing(?).
If I were to choose a supporter to choose for the 3 empty spots I would choose Colress. Your bench is usually clogged with a damaged darkrai, 2 hydreigon, a sableye, and a Virizion EX...so Colress would make the most sense as the supporter of choice.

As long as you run max blend you can move the blend and with Virizion's ability your pokemon are immune to special conditions.

Generally in Darkrai/Heidreigon people replace 4 of the darkness energy with blend FPGD and add in 1/2 Virizion EX because then the darkrai's and Heidreigon don't get Laser-Banked for the KO, like in TDK

Thats a good tech.. Wish i did trade mine 2 weeks ago:( ill check troll&toad for it. Can i use the attack to search for 2 energy? being the blend energy or does it have to basic grass?

Any grass works, like blend and prism energies. Its mainly a bench-sitter and might only attack to get 2 other blend energies out on the field and moving around, but its none the less an excellent tech.

Virizion-EX can't get Blend or Prism energy out of your deck.

Ohh i see. Well that will still help when someone decides to Put Darkrai to sleep or Paralyze him -_- as i always say, Darkrai is the sleep pokemon, when he goes to sleep he is in his happy place and feels no obligation to wake up for me.
Virizion would be a great tech! Not sure if i wanna buy $20 for it just yet. I'll see how i do next Saturday without him. Considering i just spent $70 on Mew cards for my Mew collection

You could also run Keldeo instead of Virizion because with Darkrai (and Hydreigon) you can Rush In if your active has a status condition, putting it on the bench and curing it, then retreat Keldeo for free with a Darkness Energy on it back to whatever you want.

Also, never substitute N for Caitlin. N is a hand refresh or disruption card. Caitlin does neither of those; in fact, Caitlin does almost nothing at all, giving you hand disadvantage, and less search power than Skyla or, almost always, Juniper.

But you would still take 10-30 damage from poison which, even though it's a little damage, can be game changing.

Wait... you ordered Ns from toywiz? They have it on the site for $7! You do know that on ebay you can get 3 Ns for $7 (or less) right?

As for the discussion, it's not a terrible substitute give our lack of draw supporters.. do you run Bicycle?

N came in the mail all good there. It was an emergency swap

Yeah :( too late now haha but i will be on ebay more now.. I have bad history with pokemon and ebay but to get some collector cards i will have to go there. Toywiz has always been there for me so i will support them still. But yeah it was a horrible deal on N
