Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U

I know the topic is well and done, but I wanted to hold off until everyone was done with their replies for sure.

I honestly saw no problem with the initial joke post. I saw no issue with the posts giving points on why it wasn't probable(/possible, lol). And the short exchange on why he would be cool to be in was nice to read. So where the super serious posts that showed up afterwards came from, I've no idea. "I thought we were better than that"? Really? That's just stuck-up, and frankly it adds nothing to any possible discussions, making your post even worse than what you were referring to.

It was a joke post with fine intentions, and the (less serious) replies that followed both added on to the joke and added much needed activity on this site. So why are we trying to brush it off as, "something that happened"? If you thought it was stupid that it happened, try one of these options instead, 1.) change the subject (without mention to it, as that doesn't help), or 2.) ignore it. Obviously option 1 is probably the better, since you're still adding to the discussion, AND opening up an easier out than unnecessary comments from other people.

This is in the Members Club section. It's what I like to think of as the "community" forum of Pokebeach. A bit more loose than the other sections. A more tightly-knit area. One a bit more open to less serious posts. But if that little event showed anything, that's not so much the case. Which is ridiculous. I mean, whenever NeoGAF is more open to joke posts you know something is wrong.





Off the topic of my annoyance: I didn't pay attention to the color alts, since we had very little time to play. You did remind me of a topic I also wanted to bring up -- Alt characters. How Wario could switch between his original and his Warioware versions, and how the Villager and Wii Fit Trainer can be a Male or Female. Those are the alts I'm referring to. Ones that change the entire look of the character, rather than just changing up the color scheme.

Do you like them?
Would you like to see every character have one, like how Playstation All Stars Battle Royale had? Or does it being more "rare" make the few that are here even more special?
Any ideas on who could have what?

If this is done and we don't end up getting a character from FE:A in the roster, I would love to see Lucina as an alternate version of Marth since, in game, Lucina takes the name of Marth and pretends to be him until her mask is cut off and she's revealed to be a woman.
 
Wait, you mean there are alt skins? you mean there is a possibility we get daisy, dark samus, dark link, and the previous zeldas and links (OOT, skyward sword, etc)?

You're very welcome, and I too noticed that point with Sonic, maybe I can find something else to go by.

So, alt. costumes. I think every character deserves an alt. costume like Wire-frame Mac and Male Wii Fit Trainer. However, I do not think this will be the case. Some characters may simply not have any iterations or forms of themselves to be considered an alt. For example, Palutena, I could not even begin to think of what her possible alt. could be (let alone recolors). The same goes for Sheik, Yoshi, Greninja, and Rosalina. And these are the only ones that I could think of right now, I bet many other characters have to reason to alternate costumes. With that in mind, I think every character that can should. For example, Marth could have Lucina like Athena pointed out. Toon Link could have his Hero's Tunic (Outset Clothes), Samus could have one of the variations of her suit like that Phazon (or whatever it was called) Suit from Prime 3, Ike could have a Class Promotion (maybe), and so on.
Now that I think about it, not many characters would make sense to have alt. costumes. But what do I know, Mr. Sakurai is a clever man and I'm sure he can think of something.

Forgot Wireframe Mac -- thanks for bringing that up. Didn't know about the Link costume. Looks awesome!

As someone who loved Fire Emblem Awakening, spending 80 hours on it over the course of a month, Lucina being an alt (if not full character) would be amazing. The voice would be strange, considering she did sound "off" trying to imitate Marth, but I'd take it if it means she gets in.

The PED Suit would make for a very nice Samus alt. Enough to stick out as a different design, but a more simple change.

Personally, other than Lucina, I would like to see Skyward Sword's version of Zelda. The design was a drastic departure, but I liked it quite a bit. Which is why it's a shame we aren't going to see it again until Nintendo decide they may want to use it once more. As Smash Bros. lasts a long time, it feels that including said design would give it enough time in the spotlight to really give it time. With the new Link, there's precedence for it, too.

Olimar has a load of options. Literally all they would have to do for him is choose which side character they like better in Pikmin. Louie, President, Brittany, Alph, or... The burly guy. A change of face, basically, considering they all wear space suits.
 
Man I hope they don't have wire frames because those modes were annoying in Melee. I hope they don't make costumes for characters like that because those wire frames made my eyes crisscross and go wacko too.:)

We've seen footage which suggests that the fighting polygons this time are a bunch of Miis (which is what I was hoping for in the first place). Little Mac does have a wireframe costume, but he'll probably be the only one, so you probably won't be fighting a lot of them, don't worry.
 
Suddenly "Little Mac Wireframe Battle Royale Mode!" No, jk, but I like the idea of a horde of Miis trying to bash you, slice you, and blast you to death.
 
I didn't mind the fighting polygon team.
 
Oh good. Glad they got rid of the wire frames for the most part. Cool.:)
 
Really digging the fire power Rosalina in today's pic of the day. I'm also wondering if the Mii clothes will be completely customizable or if they're all specific outfits.
 
They probably will be since all people can change their clothes as well just like the real world. The digital world it pretty much the same as the real world nowadays.:)
 
What is this page for? As I can see it has something to do with special attacks but not sure what buttons use them.:)
 
I forgot this thread was around. I'm pretty much still sitting here waiting for some sign of Ridley or any new Metroid character. My hopes aren't high, but they exist...

They exist just like Ridley.

He's my number one wanted character, but I would also take Sylux or Noxus from Metroid Prime Hunters without any qualms.
 
Did you guys realize Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff have not been confirmed yet? Does anyone think they ditched them both this time?:)

The hunters from, well, Hunters would be neat but I feel like it's too small of a game so its exclusive characters aren't quite important enough to include. I would honestly expect them to include Anthony Higgs from Other M, if anything. Yes, Other M was pretty terrible, but it's recent and "big," and not one of the Prime games so no Sakamoto bs to prevent the Sakamoto bs.

At this point it's possible but I still don't think they're getting cut, and I certainly hope they're not. I'm also still expecting Ganondorf, Falco, Metaknight and several others.
