Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U

Well, it's for those who weren't caught up, an easy way to reveal everything else in the little time they have left before release, and also the best way to showcase it all. I mean, there would be some uninterested in Smash Tour but interested in 8-Player Smash, plus the way they start off with good stuff then go back to basic stuff people assumed + more detail and info, then add a few more good things, it makes it more likely for people to watch all the way through due to those random little big things they added in between the not so amazing news ones. I mean, really think about it. If they only showed all new stuff and didn't mention any of the returning updated stuff or new features, or if they simply had all the big things only at the beginning, do you really think you would've watched all the way through and seen Mewtwo?

I'm saying they did not need to take 35 minutes to go through it.

When they said "Buttons!!!" as one of the things that the two games had in common, I about shut the damn thing off because it was clear they were just milking it at that point.

I was hoping for a little gameplay of Mewtwo, but oh well. Hopefully he's not the only character we'll get.

I think they should bring in the Ice Climbers as DLC someday, but like an Olimar/Alph thing. The original games didn't have them both out together, so they can just make it "Ice Climber" with Popo and Nana as alternate costumes.

Also, how do I register my Smash Bros 3DS onto my Nintendo account? I apparently needed to do it prior to buying digitally somehow, according to that smash CD thing...

There is a code printed on a sheet inside the box with the foldout sheet describing basic moves and final smashes for all of the unlocked-at-start characters.

I think I lost my code and my box as well. It's SOMEWHERE in my house, but I don't know where.

I bought mine digitally I said, so that doesn't help much knowing where it is for physical copy.

As long as your Club Nintendo account is linked to your eShop account, it will automatically register it for you. I am not sure what the requirements were expecting you to do as you can't register anything until after you downloaded the game.

Edit: Unless it was asking you to make sure the accounts were linked before you downloaded it... if that's the case, I'd call Nintendo and see if they can help.

You can't register it unless your account is linked before you make the purchase. You can try contacting Nintendo to see if there's anything they can do. Maybe they'll cut you some slack if you purchased it recently enough.

^ Call them. Nintendo Customer Service has been great from experience (they replaced my Wii that was like 4 years over warranty for free).

So if I registered my NNID on my Wii U with it, and it's the same ID as on my 3DS, does that count? Or is it still too late?

Guys what is DLC and how would we still get Mewtwo after 1/13/15? That does not make sense unless they add him in permanently after that date which I hope they are planning on doing whether or not we have the 3DS version or not.:)

DLC is Downloadable Content. Meaning that we can still get Mewtwo at any time after the first date expires via patch.

Smash 3DS was Simply Smashing (Or should I say Super Smashing) for me and is my first Super Smash Bros. game that I've ever played. That said, I practiced a while with my friends to get the learning curve and finally conquered Classic 9.0 with Peach and Rosalina (Guess that means I have to main them now, huh? :)), unlocked all secret characters, and completed 3 of the challenge boards, the fourth one is extremely hard! I can't say that I will be getting the Wii U version or will be playing this actively in the current weeks, but it's definitely a fancy game and one I think that never gets old.

Regarding Mewtwo, I'm not sure about my feelings toward it; when it eventually does go to the 3DS systems after the patch mentioned by Chaos Jackal which will supersede if you met the terms for their whole promotional DLC event, I don't feel too excited or thrilled but I don't feel sad or let-down either! It's another character down-the-road that I'll attempt to fancily master and conquer Classic 9.0 with (Yes, I'm trying to beat Classic 9.0 with all characters, yes I know it's a death wish. :()

Man, that Direct was just awesome IMO. Sure, it was a little long and long-winded at times explaining mostly stuff that we knew were going to be in there or stuff that isn't really new to the series but it did have a lot of information and quite a bit of content overall, which helps to sell people on buying the game even if they already have the 3DS version. For that reason, I like the idea or concept of having Mewtwo there free. They might end up adding it as a paid option down the road but honestly, even if they don't, I think that's a nice benefit considering the amount of content and variety you get from both games (music, trophies, different modes, etc). 8-player Smash is absolutely insane and I loved how they announced it incrementally from 5 to 6 and then to 8. That also goes along with my favorite part of the Direct being the announcer narrating the whole thing with that absolutely orgasmic voice. It just created a huge aura of awesomeness and hype that was already there but multiplied it a hundred fold. The one thing I came away from that was, when comparing the 3DS version to the Wii U version, IT'S NOT EVEN COMPARABLE!

dmaster out.

The direct would've been ridiculously lame if it weren't for the announcer, who made everything ridiculously cheesy instead. Well, up until they announced Mewtwo, of course. Sakurai and team often feel so out of touch, having them actually announce something fans have been crying for for ages was quite a pleasant surprise. That stage builder looks really sweet as well. Considering how awfully made the Brawl one was it's weird to see them actually put some effort into it.

I think the thing I'm most pleased about is the return of Smashville, which was by far my favourite stage introduced in Brawl. Kongo Jungle 64's apparently also making a return, so there's hope that Saffron or Hyrule Castle finally make a return as well. But since they're the most requested stages chances are close to 0, let's bring back more Donkey Kong stages no-one really liked instead!

Also, adding Ridley as a fully functional playable character only controllable by CPUs is somehow hilarious to me.

When will this patch be available for the 3DS? I am not sure when I will get the game XD.:)

Ok, I have a question regarding what you guys think about DLC characters. Both confirmed, and probable.
Mewtwo: What kind of Final Smash will it have? Mega Evolutions have been debunked due to the Pokémon style trophy in Wii U (not super detail like Smash), so perhaps Psystrike or Aura Blast/Cannon/Whateverlucariohadinbrawl 2?

Ice Climbers: Coming back as they always were, or maybe going to be a Robin/Wii Fit/Pikmin thing? (they're both alt. costumes)

Lucas, Wolf, Roy (Fire Emblem) possible?

My question is? Why are they making these events a download when they could have incorporated these characters into the games a secret characters? In Melee Mewtwo was easy to get. Complete 600 rounds of VS mode or beat a certain stage or fight or level in Adventure mode. Why did they not do this for these characters or future characters? It just does not make sense to use a code for an in game character. On the downside. If your game does not work or properly at all after you get the download for some reason and it does not work your character download is gone forever. If they made the codes reusable it would be one thing but they are making things so difficult for us fans that it will eventually not be fun anymore and people will loose interest because of the weird ways they do things now.:)

Mewtwo is being added as DLC because he, as a character, is not finished yet. He cannot be "incorporated into the games as a secret character" because he doesn't yet exist to be incorporated. The only reason we are able to have Mewtwo in the game at all is because he can be added in later via DLC when he is finished.

Also, if they just made him a secret character, than they wouldn't be able to use him for the "Please buy both versions of the game, guys!" promotion and/or also be sold for $X as DLC after the fact instead of just being free with the game.

So how many of you 3DS smash owners are hyped for the $60 DLC?
