I see a few people saying that Swoobat/Gardevoir should be interesting.

Let's hear everyone's thoughts.

It will be much better once Ether comes out. Swoobat/Gardevoir needs the energy excelleration it can get from a Pokedex/Ether engine before it can be a very good deck.

How many Gardevoir ND decks have come and gone now?

I don't think this version will be very good. Granted, I haven't tested it yet. (only because BC hasn't came out yet on TCGO and I don't have enough Gardevoir IRL) It feels like another Durant, but worse.

I don't see how it's a worse Durant. Even though you need to set up some evolutions, you dont need to keep 4 Durant in play, really just 1 Gardevoir and 2 Swoobat.

the thing is, by the time you attach enough energy to get anywhere you will be getting 1-shotted over and over. Durant was better.

Durant also had problems being one shot repeatedly. and really, with just 2 energy on Swoobat (Durant needed 3-4 Sp. Metal to stay alive) and maybe Giant Cape (Durant used Eviolite) and Gardevoir, (Durant had to have multiple poekmon in play too) you can do better than Durant already.

yes, but the Durant mill started on T1 and was much easier to set-up, used Basics, and had Revive.

Swoobat with Ether can the same ammount of milling on T2 turn that Durant alone does on T1 and T2 together.
Also Gardevoir/Swoobat can use Ultra Ball, Level Ball, Super Rod, and Skyla to help stay set up.

Tell me when you can get more than 2 energy on a Swoobat and set-up Gardevoir on T2.

Best case Scenario:
T1 Start with Emolga, Level Ball for Woobat, attatch to Emolga, Call for Family to get another Woobat and a Ralts.
T2 Retreat Emolga for Woobat, play supporter of choice, Pokedex to put energy on top, play Ultra Ball for Gardevoir, rare Candy to evolve Ralts into Gardevoir, attatch energy to Woobat, play Ether to get 1-2 energy attatched to Woobat, evolve into Swoobat, discard 4-6 cards off your opponets deck.

Worst case scenario:
T1 Start with a lone Woobat, Level Ball for Ralts, and attatch energy to Woobat.
T2 Play supporter, miss the Rare Candy, use Ultra Ball for Swoobat, evolve, play Pokedex, find no energy, attatch another energy from hand to Swoobat, discard 2 cards off opponets deck.

The problem with swoobat is its hp. Its really hard to use any attack that has 100 hp lately because of attacks like night spear and shred that are so common. I think it could be an awesome fundeck but i dont see it being that good because unless you have some way of stopping them from getting set up you can be completely done in 6 turns

You do realize how hard this is, don't you?

The deck is half good but is isn't making over rouge. Mewtwo and Sigilyph can easily OHKO it. Plus other attackers like Terrakion, Terrakion EX, Darkrai EX, Keldeo EX, Ho-Oh EX, Garchomp, Empoleon, Rayquaza EX, Rayquaza DV, even Registeel EX and Landorus EX without needing to discard, have easy OHKO's over Swoobat. Also Blastoise and Hydreigon, which are bench sitters, will OHKO it too. With so many of these Pokémon being played in every deck, it has almost no chance on getting into at least Tier 2. You may try it as a fun deck and get some good games but with a slow set up and so many attackers that will OHKO it easily, it will be very difficult. I would prefer running Aggron/Lairon/Celebi EX/Fliptini or Aggron/Sableye as deckout decks.

Doesn't seem that difficult, if you use enough search cards.
Besides, I never said it would be easy, you just asked how it would be possible.

Do you realize ether is not going to be in Boundaries Crossed? We are supposed to discuss Swoobat + Gardevoir in the next format. If ether would be in Boundaries Crossed, the deck would be much better.

durant was as lot better because it was 4 basics.
this deck needs a stage 1, stage 2 and energy accel.
once your gardevoir gets ko'd this deck falls apart like dominoes.

I know it isn't coming out in BC, that is why my first post states that this will be a good deck when Ether comes out. We will still have the same cards in format when Ether is released.

Once your gardevoir is KO'd, you bring up more Swoobat, attatch more energy, and mill your opponet's deck.

I honestly thought people were joking when they started talking about this deck. Oh lordy. Durant worked because all you needed was a Collector and an energy. Swoobat needs so much more, and it's a lot easier to KO. If you're interested in playing a deck that mills in this format, why not just stick with Durant at this point? Given they are both bad, but at least Durant doesn't need a Stage 2, multiple Stage 1's and a large amount of Energy to do something. I honestly just don't even know where to start with picking this concept apart, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet to stop myself from wasting half my night.
