This is the deck I plan to play for Dallas Regionals. It’s expanded, so keep that in mind.
I don’t want to run any more Pokémon so as not to disturb my chances of starting with Talonflame.
If you see something wrong, have any recommendations, or think it’s just right, please say so.

Nice deck boi. But Shauna is pretty bad. Remove them for 2 copies of N and 1 copy of Counter Catcher. Good luck at Dallas.

Thanks. I usually tend to leave my opponent alone and kind of want to keep it that way. Interfering with my opponent isn't necessary because of how fast Talonflame gets set up due to Aero Blitz, and many Aero Blitzes over time may transform into a knock out on a 1 prize like Baby Volcanion, meaning I only draw 5 cards off of N while my opponent draws 6, and I don't want that disadvantage.

You need N. Flat out. Not just to help with your hand, but mainly to disrupt theirs. Trust me, N is a multi purpose card that you want.

Ok. Here’s the thing. I predict the top picks for the small as meta will be for Dallas:

Lycanroc-Zoroark
Gardevoir
Night March

Have you playtested against or have answers for those?

Also, have you considered playing Talonflame+Aerodactyl (technically zero basics, you keep mulliganing untilyou get the perfect hand. N down their hand on T1)

I tried playing a Talon Flame Break deck and it did not make the cut. Maybe yours is better good luck.

See, I was going to throw in one of them Oricorio Sensu Styles in, but when I watched DarkIntegralGaming's version of Talonflame BREAK, he made an excellent point about balancing your Pokémon so the you can start with Talonflame as much as possible. If you really really really think I should, I'll mull it over.

Fine, I'm sick of people nagging on me all the time. I'll get Natural Harmonia Gropius.

I don't have anything for Gardy, but I figure they'll have to stack a whole bunch of energy on to get the OHKO, and I 2HKO it anyway, so... yeah, that's probably not going to work.

Is Lycanroc Zoroark bench space abuse? If so, I think I can handle that by just playing differently.

And is Talonlame Aerodactyl just mulligan-ing to get the perfect hand? If so, you do reali- ohhhh, Aerdactyl isn't a basic... I see. I'm not playing it anyway.

Thanks, I hope it goes better too...

If your main goal of playing the regional go ahead and play this deck but dont except to do well. If you want to be somewhat competitive and still play talonflame i can pull up some lists like talonflame aerodactyl or talonflame gallade. And lastly if you want to be completely competitive dont play this but play something meta.

N. Sooooo, if they have more than 6 cards in hand and have everything they need to sweep you, you'll just let them? I agree that if you play Talonflame, play something like Talonflame/ Aerodactyl, because any sorr of item lock means that you lose. I don't want to be rude, but how do you beat any meta decks with this? Turbo Dark outspeeds everything in the format, Night March trades evenly, if not, better than you. Garb again, trades evenly, if not better. Volcanion beats you in the prize trade, AND outspeeds you. You definitely need Blacksmith and N. That's the only advice I can give you if you really want to play this deck. Last time someone played me with this deck, they didn't take a single prize.

SO YOU'RE TRYING TO GET ME NOT TO RUN THE DECK I JUST POSTED?!?!?!?!?!?
That's kinda mean, in a way.
...play something meta.
Also, I have made it my strict mission not to play meta decks.

But I just ordered everything I need for Talonflame BREAK...
EXCEPT N.
I honestly to goodnessly forgot. Oh well.

FINE. I give in. If Talonflame BREAK turns out to be badfest 2018 then I'll play Salazzle GX.
Don't judge Salazzle GX, it had an 18/20 win record in the local league.

Ok. Here’s my honest take on it.

Between San Jose and Dallas, nothing new will be released. I think that whatever turns out to be good at San Jose will be seen in Dallas, albeit with more refinement (and I see SOME Zoroark variants dropping off the map, others being more widely used).

As a rogue player myself, I’d HIGHLY suggest you go on Proxycroak and test your Talonglame deck against top 32 decks from Daytona and San Jose (when they become available online or on Pokémon’s website). This does 2 things:

- gives you experience on how particular builds operate, especially against your deck.

- gives you experience facing the meta (provided you are playing as hard as to can with both decks and not ‘tipping the scales’ one way or the other).

Also with testing, you can save yourself some cash (I figured out Computer Search wasn’t good for my build. BAM. Saved $45).

If you want to talk meta analysis and whatnot through PM, I’m all for it. But I think you REALLY need to test the deck through PTCGO or proxy cards in the kitchen.

Im not trying to be rude just realistic. If you play a deck like this at a major tournament you should have no expectations on doing good and your only goal should be to have fun. In the end what you play is your choice.

I hate it when people make good points I can't debunk.

So which is it? You buildingnit for fun or your shooting for competitive Talonflame?
Actually, both. I built it for fun, but Talonflame won't shy away from a win, either. Those are the decks I like to play. Fun that can win.
I'll wait for the results from Talonflame before I possibly make the switch to Salazzle. Plus, I jut bought the stuff for it anyway.

Definitely wait for this weekends regional to be done and start testing both decks you are considering. If you do want to try out the talonflame/aerodactyl deck i have multiple lists so just PM or @ me if interested. I can also help test on ptcgo if you want as i have the majority of the expanded meta decks and some spicy rouges.

Silly Lord Goomy...

Salazzle won 20/22 matches, not 18/20...

Don't undercut her Worth again or I'll have to... uh... do something
