Ruling Tangrowth's errata?

Hey I have a question about Tangrowth

Tangrowth (Diamond & Pearl—Great Encounters, #10)
Power Whip
Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 10 damage for each Energy from basic Energy cards attached to Tangrowth to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

So this means that if you have say, a Multi Energy on Tangrowth and you use Power Whip it will deal no damage.
BUT, if you have a basic G and a basic F it would do 20.
And then for my last question, this attack works with Sceptile GE, am I right. Because it says for each energy from (BASIC) energy cards.

Incorrect. The card now states(after the errata) "This attack does 10 damage for each Grass energy....". The "Grass energy" means that as long as ANY energy including Special Energy like Multi provides Grass Energy, Power Whip will inflict damage...

I'm not sure what you're looking at, but what OP quoted is the errata, exactly.

So Multi Energy adds nothing to Tangrowth's attack. It's not a basic Energy card.

Thanks Kaga, very helpful again. I was sure it was only for basic, just double checking though =)

Oh, and just to be sure.

I have Sceptile out, and 2 Grass energy on Tangrowth.

Tangrowth uses Power Whip, and I do 40 to anyone. (Before applying effects )
