TCGO maintenance and forums

Is anyone else who plays TCGO frusturated by this extended maintenance? They keep extending the time longer and longer. It's been going on for almost 2 days and I'm wondering if they'll ever get it back up and running. It will be great if they do, since the updates they have look great (you'll be able to buy cards with those formally useless trainer tokens), but the maintenance is getting annoying.

Also, does anyone have trouble with the forums on the TCGO site? Lately, I haven't been able to post anything because it doesn't recognize anything I type. It says that I haven't typed anything despite having a message prepared. That's also very annoying, perhaps more annoying than the maintenance.

They are not doing the token/gem thing right now. They are just making it more stable as far as I know. And yeah it's frustrating. I want to know if my trades got completed or if they expired lol.

Though some of you may not like hearing it, I do need to stress that the game is still in beta and that outages like this are inevitable. We understand that you enjoy playing the game and that lengthy outages may be disruptive to your plans. We try to keep these outages as brief as necessary. However, the purpose of beta testing is to find and eliminate bugs, ranging from something as small as an incorrect rarity symbol on a card to something as major as an infrastructure issue. The simpler the fix, the shorter the maintenance window. The more complex, the longer.

That said; I think it's worth giving a bit of insight into the reason for the duration of this maintenance period.

We've noticed a varying amount of lag between the system that tracks code and booster credit redemptions and the game client's account balance indicator. This delay in updating the account balance indicator can lead a player to believe that their redeemed code cards are not properly granting booster credits. These transactions are still tracked in the system and evenually appear in the player's account balance indicator.

We've spent the last 24 hours trying to determine and eliminate the cause of the lag to reduce player confusion. The relationship between the two systems is complex and implementing fixes requires thorough testing to ensure that something else doesn't break as a result of the fix. The status updates we've been receiving indicate that the team believes they're close to resolving the issue. Once the fix is in place and fully tested, the game will come out of maintenance. If an issue arises during testing, maintenance will be extended while to address those issues.

Oh man, all this maintenence and we don't even get the token gem thing? They're probably working on the one thing I DON'T like, booster credits only buying you specific booster packs.

I'm also getting frusturated by the stock responses they give. They don't even answer your question half the time. The above response is an exception, but most of the time they dodge the question completely.

Hopefully, the maintenence will be over within the next 6 hours.

One note, "frusturated" is not a word. It's "frustrated". You keep writing it wrong. ;P

You will still be able to get any -> BC packs with the old codes, it's just so that starting with Plasma Storm you need Plasma Storm codes for Plasma Storm + the same thing in even newer sets. Really, really annoying. Of course they had to introduce that with the "best" set and save those four items including Ether for PS.

Hopefully, the maintenence will be over within the next 6 hours.

It went back up at least a couple hours ago I believe. Expect more maintenance through at least the next week as a new set is about to be added as well (as I assume they didn't "pre-add" it so it loads automatically when the set does release).
