Heatran: M-@Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Modest +Sp. Atk/-ATK
EV's: 56 HP/200 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
Attacks:
~Stealth Rock
~Fire Blast
~Earth Power
~Dragon Pulse

The main purpose of Heatran is to run as my main lead and act as a counter to the likes of Skarmory, Forretress, Scizor and Bronzong who all show up at some point in the game. Shucca Berry has been replaced with Balloon since it lets Heatran avoide all Ground-type attacks. 56 EV's have been invested into the HP to allow for a little for bulk and should allow for him to stay around longer then Shucca Berry sets.

Fire Blast is the main STAB attack and has great coverage on many of the new Steel, Bug, Ice and Grass types in Gen 5. Fighting-types may seem like a problem as do Water-types. Heatran may not need to go head to head with them but he can at least set up Stealth Rock.

Earth Power provides great coverage against Steel, Fire, Poison and Rock-types while Dragon Pulse provides great coverage against the likes of Haxorus and Flygon. While Heatran isn't the fastest pokemon he does provide coverage to the likes of Scrafty and Tyranitar who would take some good damage from Bug-types.

Thundurus: M-@Life Orb
Ability: Competitive Spirit
Nature: Timid +Spe/-ATK
EV's: 176 HP/80 DEF/252 Spe
Attacks:
~Nasty Plot
~Discharge
~Dark Pulse
~Sludge Wave

Thundurus is one seriously tough new Electric/Flying-type in Gen 5 and for great reason. With the Ability Competitive Spirit all of his attacks that have an added effect gain 30% more power. When combined with Nasty Plot and Life Orb that makes them even more powerful since he won't suffer the recoil from Life Orb thanks to his ability.

Nasty Plot is the main focus and can allow for even more power then regular boosts. Since the three attacks all have an added effect it will let them hit harder. Since Thundurus can be a great counter to Water-types, Discharge is the STAB attack. Gyarados will be hit hard and could be brought down in one hit. The other two attacks are fillers and work wonders against Ghost, Psychic and Grass-types.

Gengar: M-@Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid +Spe/-ATK
EV's: 4 DEF/252 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
Attacks:
~Shadow Ball
~Icy Wind
~Focus Blast
~Thunderbolt

Gengar has proven just how effective he is in being able to deal with the likes of Tyranitar and Gyarados. Shadow Ball is the main STAB attack and can hit Chandelure and low Sp. Def non-Normal types hard. Focus Blast is so obvious as it hits Tyranitar mega hard if it doesn't miss.

Thunderbolt is here to deal with Gyarados and Skarmory who both can set-up on any of the pokemon in the team. Icy Wind was picked over HP Fire since it hits Flygon and Dragonite super hard. Gengar serves as the phazer for Fighting and Normal-type attacks and strikes back with powerful moves that allow for later pokemon to set-up and play.

Scrafty: M-@Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
Nature: Careful +Sp. Def/-Sp. Atk
EV's: 252 HP/4 ATK/252 Sp. Def
Attacks:
~Bulk Up
~Drain Punch
~Stone Edge/Fire Punch
~ThunderPunch/Ice Punch

Once I saw this set used against me I just had to give it a try and it does have great coverage. Since Gengar is weak to Ghost and Psychic-types, Scrafty makes for the perfect counter to them since he is a Dark/Fighting-type. Once Scrafty sets-up with a few Bulk Ups he can then strike hard with his potent Drain Punch or any of his other attacks.

The reason for running Stone Edge and Fire Punch is the third move slot is based on priority. Stone Edge is an option to counter pokemon like Aerodactyl and Togekiss. Fire Punch is an option to counter the likes of Scizor and Metagross.

ThunderPunch and Ice Punch are based on priority as well. ThunderPunch packs the power to deal with Gyarados and Tentacruel. While Ice Punch hits Dragonite and Flygon with serious damage. Either way it is viewed the most common picks would be Fire Punch and ThunderPunch since they can supply very effective coverage.

Volcarona: M-@Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
Nature: Timid +Spe/-ATK
EV's: 176 HP/80 DEF/252 Spe
Attacks:
~Butterfly Dance
~Bug Buzz
~Flamethrower/Fire Blast
~Hurricane/HP Ice/HP Electric

Volcarona is one of the most unique pokemon on this team. It supplies two STAB attacks: Bug Buzz and either Flamethrower or Fire Blast. The reason why I am running him with this set is because it allows for him to run more effectivly in a Sandstorm. Hurricane is the main pick since it goes to 100% once a Sandstorm starts.

Butterfly Dance is a very nice attack that boost the Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Spe 1 stage each and lets for better use of moves like Fire Blast and Bug Buzz. While Life Orb would have been a better pick I felt Leftovers would allow for it have more bulk then what it would with Life Orb.

Since he can counter several types with this set he will need support from Scrafty and Tyranitar who both can supply the power needed to counter its counters.

Tyranitar: M-@Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Adamant +ATK/- Sp. Atk
EV's: 252 ATK/4 DEF/252 Spe
Attacks:
~Earthquake/Ice Punch
~Crunch
~Pursuit
~Superpower/Stone Edge

What was once originally a DD Tyranitar and Curse Tyanitar I have changed now to Choice Band. This set packs some serious power to it and can prove to be very effective. Crunch. Pursuit and Stone Edge provide 3 powerful STAB attacks that can cripple Gengar, Chandelure, Ninjask and many others in one hit. Superpower, Earthquake and Ice Punch provide great coverage.

Earthquake can bring serious damage to the likes of Infernape thats switching in and to non-Balloon holding Heatran and Bisharp. Ice Punch is here to deal with Haxorus and Flygon while Superpower can deal with Excadrill and Zoroark who both will be dealt heavy edged damage.

Choice Band Tyranitar doesn't pack the speed of Choice Scarf or Dragon Dance sets, but he does pack far greater physical power then the other sets do, and that is what this set is aimed at being great at.
