Team Aqua Muk

Ever since the Double Crisis mini set came out I've been wanting to find a good way to use those Pokemon. I like enjoy using cards that get pushed to the side and I find i do well with them because people haven't thought of counters for them. For those who don't know Team Aqua Muk's attack does 60+ another 60 if the opposing Pokémon is affected by special condition. So obviously I would build a deck that would be frustrating to the other player due to many status changes. For those status changes I would probably add a couple of malamar to put people to sleep, hypnotoxic laser, team aqua diffuser (Pokémon is confused and poisoned) and anything else. What i'm not sure is if i would keep the kyogre in the deck or just run the muk, malamar, mightyena, and sharpedo... any suggestions? I think this has the potential of being something good but not sure.

You're not going to have time or space to set up a 4-energy costing Kyogre, so I wouldn't really bother adding one. You also don't really ever want to use a Team Aqua Diffuser as you need that attack. Munna from BRC (?) could also work.

If your deck is focusing on Muk, Kyogre will most likely clunk the deck due to it needing some materials that will take up space for other good cards.
So final suggestion would be to take it out.

Hmm, the issue with Malamar-EX is that you have to attach energy to use his Ability, and after that he's just sort of there with a ton of energy on him and an unreliable attack...

This works fine in Fairy Toolbox decks because you can just attach to Malamar and move the energy to where it's useful with Aromatisse. Maybe that's something to think about? You could run Psychic and Fairy energy, maybe even Rainbow, and use the Psychic on your Muk while dropping Fairy energy on Malamar to put the opponent to sleep and potentially power up a backup attacker on the bench with Aromatisse.

You could use Dimension Valley to reduce Muk's attack cost to just two energy, as well.

Yeah Malamar's attack is unreliable but I've found that if you can get a "trick coin" item attached to Malamar it can make the flipping a little better. I just made a quick deck close to what I wanted online and I really like having Sharpedo to accelerate Team Aqua Pokémon on the bench which makes Mightyena's attack even better. I tested a Gengar Ex in the deck with his "spinning turn" type move where he poisons and does 60 and can switch to another pokemon. Sad thing is it takes three energy to do that, so at best turn three (unless you have DC). I normally run a steel deck with lots of moving parts but slow to get up and moving. I'm wanting a deck that's quick and lots of status changes, any ideas on that?

I suggest trying a Sparkling Robe + Munna BCR combo. The Malamar-EX odds can also be increased using a Victini LT, which is basically the same as the Trick Coin. I'd also warn not to put too much Pokemon in your deck, otherwise it will be completely clunked and quite inconsistent.

oh yeah too much is trouble, i'm just trying to find a good consistent way to keep the status changes. The only thing that concerns me is sparkling robe since most decks run a startling megaphone. I like Musharna and her attack that'll do 90 if it's asleep but even then i think it's hp is pretty low
