Hi guys,i've stopped playing on 2015 back when VirGen was a thing, then shaymin came out and i couldn't afford 3 of them and suddenly i were the only one playing on my city.My friends started playing yugioh and i brought a Shaddoll(megapack made it realy cheap),but it was banned like 2 months latter and i stopped with card games.
I started working and got some money, and discovered a new store here where people play the pokemon expanded format.I pretend start playing standard on the next season, but for now,i will go for the classic plasma, one of my favorite decks from nxd-on(my favorite format).
Actually i don't know where to start, don't know many of the new cards and i need some help for a list, someone who could help?
Greetings from Brazil

edit:i inted to run either lugia or kyurem version, probably lugia, but i really don't know wich one is the best right now

Hi, the current standard format is the set Break Through on (If you didn't know) and here are some cards that are really good and you should get:

Zoroark GX (4)
Zorua (4)
Bridgette (2-3)
Ultra Ball (4)
Cynthia (3)
N (3)
Professor Sycamore (3-4)
Puzzle of time (4)
Field Blower (3)
Rescue Stretcher (2)
Double Colorless Energy (4)
Choice Band (4)
Float Stone (4)
Acerola (4)
Guzma (4)

These are some great cards in the current standard format and you can look up some good partners for Zoroark GX if you don't know what to pair it with.

Hope I helped!

I have a nifty Plasma list for expanded. Can't say the deck is great right now though, since Zoroark rules expanded with an iron fist. If you still want the list, I'll post it here when I get home from school today.

Biff he's looking in expanded.

Why are you telling him Standard staples?

The only thing he reaaaaly needs to know about is Tapu Lele GX

Plus, he's not a fossil, he probably already owns Ultra Balls, Sycamores, the old Zoruas, N, DCE, and Float Stones, which were all legal in that season.

Hey! I am not the best player by any means, but I can try to help as best as I can.

I started playing right after Breakthrough came out (2015?), so I am not quite as familiar with the BW Era of the TCG as I'd like to be, though I am a bit familiar with some Team Plasma decks, as well as the current Expanded format. The obvious problem with Team Plasma decks is, to be completely honest, an overwhelming lack of power at times. Lugia EX, only does a base of 120 Damage for 4 Colorless (Meaning Double Colorless, Plasma, and something else), requiring you to Discard a Plasma Energy to use it. To be able to KO some of the more relevant decks in Expanded, you need to be hitting for at least 180 damage, which can be done using 4 Deoxys EX and a Choice/Muscle Band. However, this leaves you open to Field Blower/Enhanced Hammer, which are not uncommon in Expanded. Here is what I would suggest:

If you are going to play Lugia, make sure you know what everyone else is playing in your local area, and try to build around that. For example, if you know people will be playing Night March, you are very likely going to want to have at least 1 Karen and/or Oricorio.

Before I go any further, I should probably ask a few questions:
1. What cards do you have access to? Do you have what you need to build either of the decks you said you wanted to? Do you have access to things like Computer Search/Jirachi EX/Shaymin EX? And so on.
2. Do you know what other people are playing, and how to play around that?

Also, it would help if you post some decklists, so people have an idea of what you are trying to work with. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Thanks,
-Alpha

P.S. Though Tapu Lele GX is great, sometimes in Expanded, Jirachi EX is better... ;D

1-actually i can buy pretty much any card for the expanded format, except tapu lele or computer search(i don't want to spend that much on the start)
2-people here don't spend that much on expanded,there are things like noivern/garbodor,sableye/garbodor, zoroark gx,darkrai turbo(dark patch+max elixir),and some greninjas

I have a nifty Plasma list for expanded. Can't say the deck is great right now though, since Zoroark rules expanded with an iron fist. If you still want the list, I'll post it here when I get home from school today.

POKÉMON-15
4 deoxys-ex
2 thundurus-ex
2 kyurem(frozen spear)
2 shaymin-ex
1 jirachi-ex
1 hoopa-ex

Fair enough. As much as I hate to say it, cards like that greatly help improve the consistency of a deck. However, there are other options, such as Dowsing Machine (Instead of Computer Search), and Jirachi EX (rather than Lele).

The list looks fairly good so far, but there are a few notable problems I can see. You really don't have a lot of Draw Support (Only 3 Colress, 1 Juniper, and 1 N). With an older deck like this, draw support is absolutely critical. This deck needs a fair bit of draw support. Here is what I would suggest:

DRAW SUPPORT:
3x Professor Juniper/Sycamore -- 3-4Juniper/Sycamore is standard for Expanded. Not everyone likes to have to discard stuff in their had, but the draw support is worth it.
2x N -- Most people will say that 3-4 is necessary, but I feel like 2 is acceptable in Expanded.
2x Colress -- Personally, 2 Colress is a bit much, but having 2 in this deck makes up for less Sycamore/Juniper and N.

EDIT: Will try to post a bit more later. Have to go work on some stuff.

i really thought about that, maybe 3 colress would be to much, considering it is one of draw cards im running more copies,i would probably draw one in my first hand, and depending on the hand that could be terrible,so,i will cut one colress for N.
3 juniper seems to much to me,and i don't have room for that, what would you cut off for her?
i've found one dowsing machine for like,3 dollars on mercado livre(it's like ebay, but on Brazil and other south america countries),probably going to buy it.
About my deck variant,is it really ok?Don't a kyurem focused version do better,or maybe a lugia one? Or even snorlax?

Personally, I think Lugia is a better option. However, I think it is worth including 1-2 Kyurem to help spread damage/get easier KOs with Lugia. I know 3 Juniper seems like a lot, but it is worth it. Sometimes, you really need to get cards into your hand, while clearing a fair bit of junk out, or Colress/N won't be able to get you the cards you need.

I can try to get you a basic deck list later today, as I am a bit busy at the moment.

Kind of. Genesect is a free Lysandre for having a Plasma Energy, which can also one shot Seismitoad-EX, and Espeon/Landorus are strictly Zoroark counters. Parallel City too. Because Choice Band exists, the fourth Deoxys isn't needed to hit 190, or 170 with Parallel City. Plasma as an archetype altogether isn't very good though. It's far too outdated to the current metagame so it just gets outpaced and outdamaged by everything.

Personally I don't think Espeon-EX or Landorus are good fits for this deck. I don't see Espeon-EX doing a lot unless you stack the board with Kyurem to take knockouts on multiple Zorua at a time, I don't think it's worth the deck slot.
Under the basis you don't want to devote four energy to a single Landorus, Extrasensory is hitting for 100 base on a Zoroark-GX. With the amount of devotion (this devotion being Deoxys-EX, and Choice Band, not to mention keeping the same amount of cards in your hand, you whiff the knockout if you don't) you're required to attack for a knockout, I'd rather spend the resources and board position attacking Kyurem or Thundurus-EX and taking the time (or the boost with Raiden Knuckle) to power up a Lugia-EX, which I would include after freeing two deck slots by dropping Espeon-EX and Landorus, and take advantage of Overflow to gain more prize cards. I see Lugia-EX as a better option to devote to by using the same resources you'd be using for Landorus.
I will concede Landorus has its place, even if it's small, although I don't believe Espeon-EX does at all.

Then again, I suppose my basis for writing this is due to my personal opinion of playing Turbo Lugia/Pressure if you're going to play any build of Plasma out there.

That's a perfectly fair argument. Landorus is to finish after a Kyurem, since usually after the Zoro player goes, you want to N, making it easier to get the same amount of cards into your hand, where you only need Choice Band and 1 Deoxys to Extrasensory for 180+Frost Spear for the 210. The Espeon point does make a bunch of sense, and I do agree that you want to attack with Kyurem as often as possible. I would say that Lugia is better, but sadly, Hex makes the whole deck fall apart. Overflow doesn't work, Deoxys doesn't work, and I'm sure the deck plays at least 1 Shaymin-EX. TDK functions better under ability lock, although, not much better. But my understanding is that Plasma just isn't anything more than a fun deck to play at league, which is sad, since it rotated before I got the chance to really play with it. I did play a variant of Turbo Lugia with Circle Circuit Raichu, but that was before I knew how to build solid decks, so the list wasn't anything that would win big. Anyway, the only card I see making a comeback in today's meta is Deoxys, since It's like a Basic Gardevoir-GX with a lot of support. But then the problem simplifies back into "how can this beat Zoroark?", and without much of an answer. I mean... Plasma Badge, Sudowoodo BKP, and Colress Machine?
