alternate title: NOT a Legend of Lucario sequel!
So yeah, I'm back. If you couldn't already tell, this fanfic has no connection with my previous fic.(I DO intend to write a sequel at one point, don't worry.) I just want to write something inbetween them, filler if you will. I warn you, this contains some slightly darker elements than my last, but I don't think it's anything to increase the rating (If a Mod says it should be given a PG13 rating, I'll change it.)
"Alright! The win is mine!" Said a boy triumphently. He looked to be about between the ages of fourteen and fifteen, with indigo hair with a black hoodie and gray jeans, standing on a Pokémon arena, a Garchomp in front of him. On the other side, a Machamp laid face down, knocked out. "Garchomp, return!" He said as he recalled his Pokémon.
"Machamp is unable to battle! Jake Wesley is the winner of Saffron City's yearly Pokémon tournement!" Said the referee, signaling with the flags that Jake had won.
"Yes!" Said Jake pumping his fist. He was proud. He had worked hard this month to train his Pokémon and now it had all paid off. He ran up to the center podium and accepted a large, golden trophy, depicting an Alakazam to refrence this being Saffron City's trophy. Confetti streamed down the arena as interveiwers ran towards Jake to ask him questions.
"Ah, that was great!" Said Jake as he exited the arena. He then saw on a large TV posted on a nearby building his victory being shown on the news. People he'd never known were shaking his hand. This is great! Jake thought to himself. Suddenly, the TV went black, and a new broadcast started showing. On the broadcast, it was a woman sitting on a typical newsdesk. Jake recognized her immeadiately.
"That's Cynthia! The reigning champion of the Sinnoh league!" Said Jake quietly to himself. "Why is she interrupting our broadcast?"
"Ladies and Gentleman, please forgive my for any programs you may be missing," She said sternly. "But, I am here to reveal some breaking news that must be heard around the world."
"Breaking news?!" Said Jake.
"I want you all to try not to panic," Said Cynthia. "But the criminal orginizatrion, known as Team Rocket has returned." Jake could hear small gasps around him, as he too let out one of despair.
"As we all know, about three years ago, Team Rocket disbanded because of their leader Giovanni's sudden disappearance. However, I have discovered that they are now being led by a person who goes by the alias of Cell. No one knows his real name, face, voice or location. However, I'm sure that we will discover these important details soon, and then we will-" At this point, her voice stopped, as if she couldn't speak. Then, she suddenly started gagging, struggling to breathe as the people watching it screamed in horror.
"Wha-what's going on?!" Said Jake as he stared at the big screen in disbeleif. "It looks like she's choking, but no one's grabbing her throat!" He stared in horror as cynthia continued gagging, her hands grabbing her neck at fists that weren't there. Then, her eyes rolled over as she collapsed to the desk, as almost all the people of Saffron screamed in fear. Then, the screen turned white, as it displayed, in arial black letters, the word 'Cell'.
"My, my." Said a low voice, that seemed to be digitally altered. "That's what that girl gets for trying to take down my plans. But, it does save me some time in introducing myself. As you all are probably aware of now, Team Rocket has returned, with I, Cell, leading them."
"Who is this guy?!" Said Jake filled with absolute terror. "D-did he really just kill Cynthia without having to lay a finger on her?!"
"Don't worry." Said Cell. "As long as none of you try to go public with information that concerns Team Rocket, I won't kill any of you. That is all I have to say for now." With that, the screen went to black. People began whispering amongst themselves in panic.
"Team Rocket's back? It can't be!"
"Who is this 'Cell' guy?"
"How could he just kill of Cynthia like that?"
"Is he some sort of God?"
Jake again stood, almost paralyzed by fear. Cynthia was dead. Would other League champions be next? The side of justice might fall to Team Rocket if that were to happen. His thought's were interrupted by his cell phone ringing. He picked it up and answered it.
"Hello?" He said, trying to act calm.
"Hello there, Jake Wesley." Said a low voice. "This is Cell."
So that's the beginning! On a last note, My computer time is more limited when I wrote LoL (Great acronym, huh?) So the first few chapters might come slower. Soon I will have more computer time though, and the chapters will come at a faster rate.
