Switch in 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon to the Active Spot. If you do, switch your Active Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon.
Attach a Basic Energy card from your discard pile to each of your Future Pokémon in play.
The Retreat Cost of the Pokémon this card is attached to is [C] less. If that Pokémon has 30 HP or less remaining, it has no Retreat Cost instead.
045285_T_SEIJI.jpg
As long as this card is attached to a Pokémon, it provides [C] Energy. Prevent all effects of attacks from your opponent’s Pokémon done to the Pokémon this card is attached to. (Existing effects are not removed. Damage is not an effect.)
As long as this card is attached to a Pokémon, it provides [C] Energy. If this card is attached to a Stage 2 Pokémon, this card provides every type of Energy but provides only 2 Energy at a time instead.

Getting ready for the fifth SV set I see. We could also use this as an opportunity to predict who we think will be in this set. It will be a lot of fun, and it will be good to see how accurate the predictions are.

I've done some theorycrafting on this myself and seeing this post made me decide to finally make an account here and dump my silly speculation.
My predictions here are focused around "who gets an art rare", and here are a few general ""groundrules"" I've come up with to help, ordered from least to most speculative.
- Iron Thorns and Flutter Mane are definitely going to be in the set. Probably as ruleboxes.
- Obviously, Gen 9 seems to be given top priority in terms of art rares, considering almost none of those art rares are duplicate Pokemon and there are 111 Paldean Pokemon (so far) and it seems like they're trying to cover all of them at least once. So ~72/111 unique Paldean Pokemon at this point have gotten an AR or SAR. In terms of who I think will get one; probably Lokix, Houndstone, Glimmora, and Annihilape would be at the top of my list.
- There will probably definitely be 2-3 baby Pokemon in the set. I'll just throw caution to the wind and say it'll be Togepi and Munchlax.
- Because of 151 They'll probably be shying away from giving too much spotlight to gen 1 in the next few sets (Hence absolutely zero gen 1 Pokemon getting a secret rare in paradox rift.)
- They might be giving rulebox forms to some of the Paradox Pokemon that have yet to receive them (Iron Moth, Brute Bonnet, etc.), While printing a few non-rulebox forms of those that got a rulebox in the previous sets.
- They maaay give a spotlight in some form to the non-paradox forms of a few of the paradoxes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a rulebox Volcarona or a Delibird Art Rare, for example.
- Though they don't tend to base regular art rares around the "theme" of the set 90% of the time, I've done that here to make things easier.
So with all that in mind here's my predictions/nigh baseless speculation as to the Pokemon getting art rares in this set.

ARs:

Ditto, Munchlax, Glimmora, Dachsbun, Klang, Registeel, Metagross, Magearna, Wormadam Trash Cloak, Scrafty, Magneton, Lokix
SARS:
Iron Leaves ex, Iron Thorns ex, Miraidon ex (future)

Wild Force
ARs:

Annihilape, Relicanth, Togepi, Sneasel, Skarmory, Flygon, Baltoy, Huntail, Regirock, Carnivine, Duosion, Dragalge
SARs:
Roaring Wake ex, Flutter Mane ex, Koraidon ex (ancient)

These are just my ideas for Pokemon, I have a few other ideas in mind for trainers but I won't clog this thread up any more than I already have, ehe.

This is also pure speculation but Battle Styles, the previous gen's set 5 introduced both a new mechanic and a new type of chase/rarity: Single Strike and Rapid Strike cards alongside alt arts. We already know Ace Spec cards will come back in this set, but maaaaaybe we'll be getting more of those "raised foil" cards in this set?

Considering they don't seem to consider Togepi, Riolu, and Toxel as Baby Pokemon within the TCG, I'd say maybe Chingling, Happiny, or Igglybuff are more likely since they're in the SV dex, alongside Munchlax. I also doubt we'll see the "Aidons" as SAR cards considering they're in decks and not part of the Japanese sets. Could be a Gengar/Inteleon VMAX situation though.

One thing that is probably never gonna happen, that I'd like to see, would be Ancient/Future tags being for more than just the Paradox Pokemon. Like Ancient tag for all the Fossils for example, and Future for stuff like the Porygon line, Type: Null/Silvally, Mewtwo, and Genesect (even though they technically are present Pokemon)

I didn't know that! I just went for Togepi for the "hatched dinosaur egg" vibes but I'd definitely prefer one of those three (though they're probably saving Chingling for set 6 due to it's Kitakami presence.)
I didn't know about the starter deck inclusions, that does muddle things a bit. Honestly giving it more thought they'd probably not get extra SARs here, my general thought with predicting them was the fact that
There are canonically two extant Koraidons and Miraidons in the games, so these would semi-explicitly be SARs of the "evil" ones you face during the final fight.
I'm generally less confident with predicting SARs since there are way less of them so they felt like safe picks.

Also yeah I'd love love love to see the tags being applied to more pokemon, I guess the issue is its a bit more of a stretch to find pokemon that "Future" applies to as opposed to Ancient.
I also think they've deliberately avoided using fossil pokemon at all in the games themselves to make the general paradox concept less muddled.

Nice theory, but Togepi has already been released alongside it's evolved forms Togetic and Togekiss. Unless you're theoretically suggesting that Togetic and Togekiss are going to be Colourless to represent their Flying types.

I think my general idea was a colourless Togepi yea! Though I think Happiny, Igglybuff, or Azurill would be more likely in terms of baby pokemon after thinking it over.

I was thinking on those lines myself regarding the Baby Pokémon.

So far, we've seen Togepi, Riolu, Toxel, Cleffa, Elekid, Magby, Bonsly, Mantyke, and (as of Paldean Fates) Mime Jr.

If we include Togepi, Riolu and Toxel, then it is 9 down and 10 to go. If not, then it is 6 down and 10 to go.

I hope the Gulpin line gets some new cards soon, I believe they're the only Pokémon in this list to not have gotten a card in the SWSH era (their last set was Celestial Storm)

Just as I correctly predicted, the two trios of Paradox Pokémon (in regards to the Ancient Legendary Beasts and the Futuristic Musketeers of Justice) are Pokémon ex.

It seems like they are revealing cards every day now. If that's the case, then within about a week we should have set numbers for some of the cards. I was also not expecting there to be the two trios. I was expecting Iron Leaves and Walking Wake, but I was guessing they were going to wait until what is now Stellar Miracle to release them. I also doubt that Crimson Haze will be in this set, it will probably be in the next set, which is scheduled for May.

Doesn't seem like any of the cut cards that are not making it into Paldean Fates are coming here?

Specifically Squirtle, Bulbasaur and the two Gold Energies.

I guess Victini ex is also dead.
