Terrible Dilemmas..

So I am fairly new to this community.

I haven't seen a thread on times when we have been stuck in terrible dilemmas involving an event in the pokemon tcg world.

My example would be this:

March 17th is the Kansas state championships. It is also the weekend of St. Patty's.
For those of you who don't know, in Rolla Missouri @ the University of Missouri S&T St. Patty's there is a huge party week! Live bands (this year, Chevelle is there& others), and just huge wild parties and good times. Lots of booze, a blast. :) And I also told all my friends I would already go.... Anyways, I have never been to St. Patty's Day down there and I really really want to go. However, I feel like I NEED to go to Kansas' state championships before the Missouri's on the 24th..

FML I hate being put in pickels..

I know how you feel. I hate to miss out on Regs because of a wedding...

Just think what matters more to you. Would going to this put you in range of a invite? Could you go to a Week One States?

Yeah.. I'm going to missouri states on the 24th.

Just do whatever you feel like that day. If you want to go play Pokemon, do so. If not, have fun and party for St Patrick's day.

Missouri is actually a Week Three States, not a Week One States.

Week 1 = March 10th
Week 2 = March 17th
Week 3 = March 24th

It's unfortunate that Week 2 coincides with St Patrick's Day this year but unfortunately that's how things are. (Indeed, all the potential drinkers on the road slightly worries me!)

More to the point...think of what is more important to you. Do you want to spend that weekend with your friends, or would you rather go to Kansas States? I think if I were in your shoes I'd go with your friends - sure States is fun, but I would have already committed to hanging out and I don't want to miss out on the fun.

And it's not like you aren't going to any States at all - like you said, you plan to go to Missouri. I don't think it's a big deal which your first States will be; just so long as you actually go to one, it's fine.
