Variant 2 revolves around Naganadel GX which is a 210 HP, Stage 1, Psychic Pokémon. This Pokémon is formidable given that its Beast Raid attack can inflict substantial damage for just C energy cost. Beast Raid's damage output is based upon the total number of Ultra Beasts one has in play; so, assuming a full bench, this attack will inflict a minimum of 120 damage for just the 1 energy. Further, since this attack only requires C energy, a player has options to make one's deck quite versatile.

One combination option I particularly like is combining Naganadel with the Buzz brothers. Buzzwole and Buzzwole GX are Ultra Beasts that are quite formidable in their own right too. In this particular case, all these Pokémon are 1energy-attachment attackers that are highky efficient and effective. The core deck components could consist of:

1 Kartana GX
4 Poipole
3 Naganadel GX
3 Buzzwole
2 Buzzwole GX
1 Beast energy
4 Beast Ring
2 Max Potion
10-12 Fighting energy

Hi TuxedoBlack,

Not sold on the combination of Naganadel GX and Buzzwole. In essence it feels like a worse version of Buzzwole decks and still retains the mono weakness. Consider a metal version since it covers weakness and allows Naganadel to tank. Metal versions also have a useful arsenal of non-GX Ultra Beasts to choose from that can act as solid attackers on their own or supplement Nagandel GX.

For the short amount of time that Beast Box will be good the only viable variant is metal and only with 4 Stakatakas (and Celesteela and maybe baby Dusk Mane), no ifs or buts. Buzzwole doesn't add anything to Naganadel and vice versa and they make each other a lot worse because of the shared weakness.

Interestingly enough, this BB variant works quite well despite that all the Pokémon have Psychic Weakness. This variant definitely requires Weakness Policy Tools.

Having had some experience with Beast Box decks, I think the most undervalued trait that gives it power is its low attack costs and its semi-quick setup. In a Beast Box deck nearly all Pokemon on the field need to be ready to attack (with perhaps exception to Stakataka GX). Others will disagree but I think Buzzwole and Naganadel complement each other excellently because they are fairly similar. Yeah yeah I'm aware of Weakness. But it works both ways. Up against a Psychic deck? Naganadel can hit for Weakness. Up against Buzzwole? Naganadel can still hit for Weakness.

Only reason why I would say Steel is better is mostly because of Stakataka. Good luck!

I will test the Buzz Naganadel variant since as said above, single energy attachments = damage immediately. I am however building the Stakataka version, though I am only running 3 since the deck gets very clunky with 4. No reliable discard draw supporter hurts deck consistency, but that will be likely in all post rotation deck besides Zoroark...
