A slight background of my history...

I played back in the base set era with the original Blastoise (Ahh, good ole Rain dance days). It was the only deck I made back then and in the area I used to live in at the time, I wrecked face! (Probably because we were all trash back then) I moved on for a bit to other games (Yugi, Digi... yeah.. Back to Poke, School, then Yugi again...childhood was terrible... and eventually Magic) until Pokemon started to get my interest back again. But this time around? God bless it... So many things have changed. Not in a discouraging way though, I like how things have turned out for this game and look forward to seeing what I can build in this...atmosphere.

Now the deck, I didn't have any cards still in rotation, I came back for brief moment with a Darkrai Yveltal build but most of that idea was out of rotation for standard. Hit the webs and found this shell for this OHKO potential monster. I've seen other builds and from what I understand of the current metagame and interactions among other decks, there were a few things I did and didn't agree with so I adjust accordingly.

As a side note, from now on I'm calling this deck "The Bentley", Get it? Because Groudon? Continent Pokemon? Eh? EH? Car guys will get it. lol

Groudon Ex lays the ground work, being he's needed for Primal. I decided to go with the 97/98 Primal because of the 0-Max. I know the other version can't be affected by trainers your opponent plays but I'd vouch for that more if stuff like Hyno Toxic and Virbank were still in. In my opinion, the possibility of a turn 2 240 hp threat hitting for at least 200 with a couple of Field trainers in hand is just as good as a mid game psuedo Phoenix down-ish revival of a Groudon that has been catching the bench wreck fully restored ready to give out some business. Besides, I hate being in the situation where I'm in beast mode with 240 worth a potential DMG coming up my turn, and then I get Lysandre'd with no immediate way to get primal back in the the active zone...(People say if I can get you directly with a trainer I'll just go around)

Landorus Simply is there to help with the energy flow to either power up the initial Groudon or another up coming Groudon in the case the first one caught a case. Regirock serves as bait, especially against other EX Pokes. 120 DMG twice if it works out that way is no laughing matter, however I think this should be the first change I make if anything is to come out. There's nothing really being contributed back to the deck if you understand what I'm saying. Groudy's the point and at least Landy circulates energy. Regis just a beater.

Pokemon center lady is probably a bad tech, but keeping the dream alive is the point here. I don't see it much but for a guaranteed removal of all special conditions and heals 60 DMG I think it does a fairly good enough job keeping the main threat alive to fight another day especially. An extra 60 HP full heal can go a long way.

Scorched Earth is just another means of a field card in play. It just so happens to be able to allow me to ditch my fighting/ground energy so I can mega turbo them back and draw cards, originally? I was thinking an opposite four of these and 1 Fighting Stadium because in a lot of card games the more cards you get the more options you have. But in a deck that basically searches everything or sends something where you'll need it more, putting in the effort to draw cards as suppose to going directly too it just seems inconvenient.

Lastly, through my experiences, I found 3 to be a pretty consistent number, so if you see something that you think should be at 4? Please tell me.

This is more or so a "Safe"build for me. I haven't really played it against much of anyone a upper class competitor level yet. Therefore all thoughts, criticisms, tips, and sarcastic snipes are welcomed. Really striving to make this a A1 deck regardless of what tier it's classified in... Well at least before I see something else I like.

P.S: I know the entire Pokeline-up gets wrecked by almost anything grass. That one is on the to-do list as to addressing "The Bentley" build. Wasn't there a card Called "Weakness Policy?"

Hi there, I know how you feel, I was in a hiatus of almost 9 years before returning to TCG.

Now, about the deck:

1- Your build is good but fast decks like M Rayquaza, Night March, Vespiqueen, etc will kill you in no time. That's why the majority of P Groudon builds runs 3-4 wobbuffets, in order to stall and have enough time to pump your Groudon in bench. That is a job that neither Landorus or Regirock can do as smooth as wobbuffet thanks to his ability.
2- The Primal Groudon you are reffering is from Ancient Origins, no Primal Clash. and is good to have one of those, but all 3? Bad idea, especially if you took in count that Xerosic, Enhanced Hammer, Team Flare Grunt and, specially, Lysandre are huge cards in the metagame right now.
3- Yes, weakness policy exists and it's a very good tech, specially combined with tool retriever. But the main tool for this deck is focus sash (which I may say, is what gives P Groudon it's worth)

Hope it helps :)
