My old story was not the best that it could be, so I started over with a different plot.
This story is set in two journals.
Chapter 1
Lost

Nicholas's Journal
Ahh, where am I? Everything is cold and damp. Complete darkness has surrounded me and there is no light around anywhere. What will happen? Who am I and where am I?

Gentle waves brush up against me and a cool ocean breeze blows. I can feel my head against the sand. I can see Pelipper flying over me, and Krabby and Kingler walking by me. What is this wonderful place?

I am beginning to get hungry. I spot a cave up on a cliff. “Darn! How will I ever get up there?” I asked myself for I was tired of drifting in the ocean.

Suddenly I can felt myself making my legs move. There is pain at first, and then it all fades away as I climb the damp rock. Surprisingly, it is quite stable and easy to climb. The feeling feels odd for me since I was never that great of a climber.

After a little climbing, I find a path that will take me up to the cave. It is not as damp as I thought. Along the way I spot some Oran berries. I now that they are only for Pokemon, but I am so hungry and need the quick energy. As I eat, I notice that my skin is all raw, I guess the salt water did that.

When I sat down to eat, the rock was very wet and damp. It is no longer either of these. As some Volbeat fly by, I can see that I am not human at all, but a Pokemon. I’ve changed into a Chimchar!

“AHHHHHHHHH!” I screamed into the night, realizing what had become of me.

How had this happened? I could not remember anything that had happened before this. I cursed. Why wasn’t my brain working right, or did I really have amnesia! My head was spinning at this point, so I hurried and made my way to the cave.

The cave was a tad damp, and there were Shellder everywhere so I had to watch where I stepped. I found a nice corner to sleep in. I closed my eyes and drifted into a dream.

I found myself in a world of light. Standing right in front of me was the shadow of a Pokemon. I wanted to turn and run, but I felt my body pulling me closer. “Help me, please! Put me out of my pain,” it said to me.

“I can do nothing for you,” I responded.

It appeared to be crying now. “You do not understand, child,” it sniveled. “I’ve lost the one thing that meant the entire world to me, my son. You must find him, please.”

“Where should I look?” I asked, but got no response. I was waking up! Just a little longer.

I woke up to the sun rising. It cast a beautiful glow throughout the cave. It made me feel warm inside. This is all a dream, I thought.

Then I looked down and saw my skin, red. I was still a Chimchar. I walked out onto the edge and called “Help! I am lost! Someone, please.”

Then I heard a muffled response. It was interrupted by the breeze. I ran down towards the beach and found two Chimchar. “Were you the one calling for help?” one of them asked.

“I was; I am Nicholas. I am lost in the world of Pokemon,” I said.

“Well, I am Flare and this is my brother, Heat,” said Flare.

“We form the Chimchar Squad, but we are incomplete without a third. Would you like to join?” asked Heat.

“Do not be so fast, we just met him,” Flare told him. Then he turned towards me. “What would be your answer?”

“Flare and Heat, I would be delighted to join the Chimchar Squad and make you a trio.”

And with that, I joined the Chimchar Squad. They then explained exactly what we did. “We go about each day on missions either to save someone, get them something, bring them back stolen items, or bring criminals to justice,” Heat explained.

“Are you still happy you joined,” asked Flare.

“Yes I am. It sounds like my kind if job!”

And with those words, Flare, Heat, and I turned to watch the beautiful sunrise.

Chapter 2
The Great Map Heist

Shadow’s Journal
It was sunset at Dark Crater. I had just woke up from my daytime sleep. I stepped out of the shadows and into the light. I looked like any ordinary Chimchar, except for the red gleam in my eyes, and the dark fire burning for my tail.

I looked out onto the plain of lava and at the fading light. It reminded me of the Darkrai days. This was when Darkrai still ruled Dark Crater, but ever since he was defeated, he vanished. No one but Cressilia knows where he was taken to; they just know that it was bad.

I, Shadow, had found Cressilia’s home, and planned to burn it to the ground for this way the only way that I could obtain the map that lead to the energy of Darkrai. I needed it if I ever wanted to defeat Dialga and rule time.

I would have to use every bit of my strength to get that map. Tomorrow was the night of the full moon and the only time this month when Cressilia would be away, so tomorrow night had to be the night. I had prepared a boat at the dock that I built so that I could get there. After a quick snack, I set out.

The almost full moon cast an eerie glow across the water as I paddled. It paddled for a long time, I was not counting, and I was too busy paddling. By late morning, I had reached the beach of the home of Cressilia. There were more Pokemon here than I expected, so I had to be extra careful.

Once, while looking for food, I stumbled into a group of Clefairy and scared them half to death. They ran away in tears. I hurried to find food, more cautious than before. Soon, night came and it was time for me to steal the map!

I saw Cressilia flying away which meant that now was the time for me to make my move. I snuck through the bushes and up by Cressilia’s palace. Once inside, I darted for the Treasure Room and my prize. Unfortunately, I was caught right by the door of the vault.

Clefable came rushing in just in time to see me grab the map. “What are you doing!?” one yelled.

“Stealing the key to ultimate power,” I sneered.

And with that I let them have a taste of my super powerful Flamethrower sending them backwards. I ran out onto the beach and towards the boat. It was sinking!

I saw some Machamp hitting it before it went down. So much for a perfect escape! I ran to the port and stole one of the moon boats. This would lessen my risk of being attacked when coming from this island. I rowed into the night and back to Dark Crater. I had seceded! I was going to rule the world!

I thought that I was safe from harm after accomplishing such a heist, but I was terribly wrong. Flying by the moon was Cressilia, she had found me!

“Give me back the map!” she called.

“Never!” I said, and then I blasted her with my Flamethrower.
“You are going to be in such big trouble when I find you,” she called.

I didn’t even stop to answer. I just ran and ran until I had reached my hideout. "I really need to be more careful," I thought.

Chapter 3
Treasure City

Nicholas’s Journal

Flare and Heat led me to there home to sleep. “Tomorrow, we will show you Treasure City,” said Flare.

“It used to be called Treasure Town,” said Heat. It soon became the home of the famous explorers Chimchar and Turtwig. We want the Chimchar Squad to be just like them. Anyway, when it became their home, more people came and it began to become a city. Also, newer technology like computers has helped build the society.”

This was very interesting hearing about the city’s history, but I was very tired. So finally I said, “Good night.”

“Good night,” Flare and Heat both said.

I was asleep before I even knew it. And that is when another dream started again. The shadow appeared and I heard the sniffling again. This was very strange, the same dream two nights in a row, something was up. Only this time something was different.

The Pokemon actually appeared to me. It was a Dragonite! I never thought that in all my years that I would see a Dragonite crying. I was stunned, just looking at it crying, not knowing what to do.

“Help me find my baby! I cannot survive without it. You must help me find him,” Dragonite cried.

“Where did you lose your baby,” I asked.

“He wandered off towards Beach Cave and never returned. You must find him!” she yelled.

“How deep?” I asked, but I was cut off by light invading my dream. Someone was interfering and I could do nothing about it!

“No!” I cried out from my sleep, waking myself, Flare, and Heat up. It was morning, but they were wondering what was going on.

“Bad dream,” asked Heat, “I used to have them all the time when I was younger.”

“No, it was something worse than the average bad dream. It was-,” I was cut off.

“Come one now, you cannot let a bad dream ruin your tour of Treasure City,” said Flare.

“Okay, what is for breakfast?” I asked for I was curious about what Pokemon ate.

“Apples and bananas,” replied Flare.

Heat and Flare opened up a door, revealing a hidden pantry. Heat threw me a perfectly ripe banana, the skin as golden as the sunrise. Flare tossed me a deep red apple that reminded me of blood. We ate in silence. I used this time to look around the house.

It was not very large, but it had a fireplace that would burn only in the winter. Oak and maple logs were stacked right up beside it. Leaning up against the fireplace was a small, metal poker. Hanging over the ash was a large cooking pot that stews and soups were probably cooked in.

We slept on straw mats and by those were some bowls of water in case we got thirsty. Also there were small bowls of berries by the water. It was a little, but beautiful house.

After breakfast, Flare and Heat led me out of their house and onto the road. It was paved with blacktop that gleamed in the morning sun. They led me into Treasure City to show me around.

As we walked into the city, I noticed a big sign that said Treasure City. It reflected the sunlight so that it would be noticed immediately. There were buildings everywhere, both big and small.

“Here is the Duskull Bank,” pointed out Flare, interrupting my thoughts. “You can store your money here without worry that it will be stolen, at least that is what Duskull says.”

“My turn!” shouted out Heat. Then he pointed down from the bank. “There is the Marowak dojo. Here you can practice your fighting for free. There are a few catches, though. You cannot take any items or money of your own into the dojo. Also, the floors get harder as your go on. The good news is that any items that you find in there, you get to keep!” finished Heat.

“There is the Electivire Link Shop where you can link moves so that you can use them simultaneously. Also, you can relearn old moves there,” explained Flare.

Then he pointed at another place. “That is the Xatu Appraisal. There you can have him open treasure chests that you find! Over there is the Kecleon Shop, the best place to buy items for reasonable prices,” said Flare.

“Good morning Chimchar Squad! Say, who is the new one with ya?” asked the green Kecleon.

“This is Nicholas. We found him in the cave above Beach Cave,” replied Heat.

Beach Cave. I remember that name somewhere. The dream, that is where! ‘He wandered off towards Beach Cave…’

That was exactly it. I should tell them right now, but I wanted to see the rest of Treasure City, but this cannot wait! “Guys,” I said. And then I explained the whole story. They stared at me, stunned.

“Well, what are we waiting for? asked Flare. We have a Dratini to find. Let’s go to the Kangashan Storage to get some berries. There you can store items.”

And with that, we walked over to the storage.
