Did anyone else go see The Great Gatsby recently? I need some vindication, all of my friends thought it was pretty good, and I just thought it was bad. There were so many just wierd things with it, like the fact that Nick was even in the movie at all. He did absolutely nothing, and really never felt like he had a personality at all to be honest. Then there was the light and the eyes watching over the coal mines or whatever they were. For those of you who read the book you know those were both very important symbols, but in the movie they just shove both of them down your throats, panning over to them just to show them one last time.
For those of you who do like the movie, can we at least agree that the text appearing on screen was kind of stupid?
