But anyway,
Halo 4 is here! Some, if not most of you guys, got the midnight release or got it the following day, and would love to hear your opinions on some of the new stuff 343 added or did, such as:

-- Did 343 meet Bungie's standards? Was the game as good as Bungie's previous Halo games?

-- What was your favorite new gun they either A) brought back or B) added new to the game?

-- What was your thought of the new campaign? (NOTE: I haven't completed the new campaign, so PLEASE try not to post spoilers... However, I realize making this thread its asking for it, but try not to! :) )

-- What is your thought on the maps, and the upcoming DLC maps?

-- What is your thought on the looks of the armor, and which is your favorite?

-- What is your thought of the online play? What game modes do you like and looking forward to them adding?

I personally am a huge fan of the games, and love the game so far, but would *love* to hear about others opinions! :)

I expect this thread will get as much attention as my MW3 thread. (read as: none)

But yeah, this game's amazing. Beat the campaign yesterday, and I was beyond words after the epilogue. I'm already enjoying some of the new features in matchmaking and Spartan Ops, especially some of the combat mechanics they've melded together from Halo 3 and Reach.

Looking forward to the upcoming DLC maps; you can get an overview of them on YouTube or Waypoint. If anyone has any questions on the game, feel free to ask me.

How's the multiplayer? I'm getting it for the holidays either way, but I'm curious if it's improved from Reach.

The loadouts are the most striking feature. You can unlock and purchase primary/secondary weapons, grenade types, armor abilities, and support upgrades with spartan points (each weapon/upgrade costs one point, and you get a point every time you rank up). Primary weapons consist of the Assault Rifle, DMR, Battle Rifle, Storm Rifle, Carbine, and LightRifle. The pistols are your secondary, and you have a few options for armor abilities and upgrades, like Jetpack and Promethean Vison for powers, and extra grenades and faster reloading for minor upgrades. You can freely change loadouts when you spawn. Everything seems pretty balanced.

Other than that, the maps are aesthetically pleasing and very competitive play-friendly. You've got the old Halo 3 shield system back, along with the Melee system. Zombies, Big Team Battle, FFA, and other classic objective gametypes return as well.

Weapon spawns and ordnance drops are some other edits put into the MP. You get a choice of 3 different upgrades/weapons to be sent to you when you acquire a certain amount of points (rather than kills), and the ordnance is dropped for you to pick up, meaning that it can be stolen by enemies if you're killed before you get it (it drops where you point your reticle). You can let your teammates have your drop as well, but they pick it up slower than you do, so there's no chance of teammates hogging your upgrades. An example of the selection of upgrades after your first drop would be Scattershot, Damage Boost, or a Grenade variant. The choices get better the more points you get, like a Sniper Rifle or Overshield.

As for online play, the matchmaking is really quick, and players can now join games that are already in progress (fairly quickly might I add), so ragequitters will no longer ruin your games.

In short, the multiplayer is REALLY good.

And yes, my Halo Reach players, they got rid of DMR bloom!

Well ShadowLugia has nailed it right on the spot. It's definitely different from reach and worth $60 in my opinion! :)

Was waiting for this thread but didn't want to make it myself :p

Haven is my map, Regicide is my game type.

I'm at S-20 in War Games, haven't had a chance to work on Campaign yet because I wanna do it co-op this time around, but I'm really loving this game at the moment.

The designers for Haven need a raise, it's one of the most MLG-worthy maps I've ever seen.

Also Zorua I'm always available for Co-op campaign.

And btw, I got an Overkill in my 4th game of matchmaking. Get on my level. =3

Haven is actually one of the most perfect maps ever. Maybe this weekend we'll get on that Co-Op Campaign flooowwww.

I feel like one of the only people who are Assualt Rifle > DMR

Just haven't been feeling the DMR lately, used to be boss with it in Reach.

DMR got buffed in H4. It shoots a little quicker and is sooooo much more consistent. It's definitely better than the BR in some situations, mostly long range. But yeah the Assault Rifle actually got boosted to. It can actually KILL people now!

Most of the time, I'll be able to kill off someone with one magazine and still be left with ammo, which is really surprising because I've never been able to pull that off in Reach. Maybe I've just gotten better at aiming haha

There was no aiming with the AR in Reach, lol. It had pathetic damage and even worse range, so it was pretty much useless. Even if you managed to lower shields, you finished em' off with a melee. In Halo 4, a single mag will easily get you kills from mid-range.

Not really a fan of Halo myself, but from what I experienced it seems like a good game. You see, one of my classmates has been home sick the past couple of days. It's really quite terrible you see. He's gone down with a terrible case of haloforitus. So sad.

I got the vaccine for haloforitus when I got Reach back in 2010, so it's all good. ;]

I actually went to the midnight release at the biggest Gamestop in Kentucky. I met a lot of MLG-sponsored players and got so much free crap, haha. A lot of my friends were there too, so we all were super stoked to get home and play until the crack of dawn. After we got some Wendy's at 1:00 AM, of course.

YES. I wouldn't mind a Beach clan. I already run with a few other dudes officially, but I'd love to bring you guys as a party into some BTB and 4v4 Slayer.

And for some discussion, here's the loadout I've fallen in love with:

Primary - Battle Rifle
Secondary - Magnum
Grenade - Plasma Grenade
Armor Ability - Regeneration Field
Tactical Package - Mobility
Ability - Dexterity
