Humble Mobile Bundle 5

"Didn't we just have a Mobile Bundle a month or so ago?" Yes, yes we did, but I suppose if we got Indie 11 very soon after Indie X, it's not much of a stretch to think we'd get two Mobiles fairly close together. Anyway:

Humble Mobile Bundle 5 bonuses + Weekly Sale Presented by TSG

First up, bonuses for Mobile 5! We have a mobile-y game, the first R-TYPE (no brainer), and another joke-y game:

These bonuses definitely round out the bundle. This sale will end on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT. Maybe we'll get a non-Android-y bundle at that time. :p

RE: Humble Image Comics Bundle + Co-op Weekly Bundle

The Humble Image Comics Bundle + Co-op Weekly Bundle

First a thread note: You know, I forgot we're not in the gaming forum anymore. I've been giving the non-game bundles more coverage in recent times, but I've always held off of giving them title-billing since they weren't game-related. Well, not any more! :D

It's been a pretty long time since we had a main-line core games bundle, hasn't it? Mobile 4, eBook 3, Android 9 (which was a little closer to a Mobile in terms of games), Mobile 5... Surely we're up for one this week? Nope! Humble has delved into a new media: This time, comics!

Humble Image Comics Bundle

  • East of West Vol. 1
    • Consists of issues 1-5
  • Fatale Vol. 1
    • Issues 1-5
  • Lazarus Vol. 1 (Issues 1-4)
  • Morning Glories Vol. 1 (Issues 1-6)

For beating the average, currently sticking around at $9.61:

  • Saga Vol. 1 (Issues 1-6)
  • Revival Vol. 1 (Issues 1-5)
  • Chew Vol. 1 (Issues 1-5)

And for beating $15:

  • The Walking Dead Vol. 1 (Issues 1-6)
    • "Vol. 1 for those who never read the graphic novel..."
  • The Walking Dead Vol. 20 (Issues 115-120)
    • "and the newly released Vol. 20 for you diehard fans."

The bundle launched without the info about how many issues each volume contained, so I and maybe others initially thought that you were basically getting one issue per comic, which would be fine for a sampler bundle, but baffling as a Humble bundle. Glad to hear the bundle is roughly 5 times bigger than I initially thought. :X

Bonuses will be added on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Humble%20News%20Banner.png

So yeah, this week's main bundle is another non-mainline-game bundle. But we'll probably never have another week like this again: Engadget (and maybe others) posted an article about the bundle an hour before it started. Beyond talking about the bundle in general, it included this bit:

Engadget said:
Once this Image Comic promotion is over on May 15th, Humble will be launching a new tab on its site dedicated to ebooks, audio books and comics. That means that there will always be two bundles running simultaneously: a game or other media bundle on the front page and an ebook bundle on a separate tab. And you can expect two different book bundles per-month.

So that means that, aside from music and comedy acts, everything non-game Humble does will now be isolated in its own section, which will be great: Mainline-game-people who complain every time a bundle isn't for them will hopefully, well, get more bundles for them, while people who really like the non-game bundles will start getting heaps of them... And Humble gets to have both revenue streams! >:D

There was also this bit in that story:

Engadget said:
In fact, there are already enough bundles lined up to carry Humble through September.

Holy cow.

This week's Humble Weekly Sale Bundle is...

Co-op!

And so we return to the genre-themed bundles! This one is a fairly nice batch, with a "twist" at the higher tiers.

And yes, Weekly Bundle! It seems Humble has retired the Weekly Sale name, which is probably for the best. The name made sense when the first sale was JUST Bastion, but as soon as we had a THQ-ish/Nordic-ish Sale with four games, the name just started to get confusing. Well, no more! :D

header_292x136.jpg

Awesomenauts

For beating $17:

  • Two copies of the full bundle!
    • Orcs Must Die! 2 Complete Pack 2-pack is normally $40

And finally, for beating $30:

  • Four copies of the full bundle!
    • Sanctum 2 4-pack is normally $45
    • Wanderlust 4-pack is normally $25
    • Risk of Rain 4-pack is normally $30

This sale bundle will end on Thursday, May 8th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

I'll consider picking this latest one up. I've been constantly missing the sales for Sanctum 2 and it has been really annoying.

RE: Humble Image Comics Bundle + Co-op Weekly Bundle

Awesomenauts is still really fun. Though the characters in the Starstorm expansion (which cost $10) are kind of absurd. However, I wouldn't expect that to show in more casual, lower league games... And wow that sounds condescending. Not sure how else to word it.

RE: Humble Image Comics Bundle (bonuses) + Weekly Bundle: Night Dive Studios + Store: Spring Sale

Calling it: This bundle will be a big one ("Such a bold prediction!").

Arghghfh the double post timeout changed and now it looks like I edited this post after the bundle started. :(

RE: Humble Daily Bundle!!: Deep Silver ReBundle + Weekly Bundle: Night Dive Studios + Store: Spring Sale

The Humble Daily Bundle: Deep Silver ReBundle

First a quiiiiick little piece of news: Halo: Spartan Assault was among yesterday's daily deals in the Spring Sale. Microsoft has sort of worked with Humble before by letting them bundle stuff Microsoft has published (like DUST), but Halo's a major IP. Very interesting.

Soooo I was sort of right in the above post. This is definitely a big bundle... of 14! Yes, for the first time, the bundle is going DAILY.

The Humble Daily Bundle: Deep Silver ReBundle!

We kick off the Daily Bundle with a re-do of a favorite of mine, the Deep Silver Bundle! We have:

Saints Row: The Third

header_292x136.jpg

Saints Row 2

header_292x136.jpg

Risen 2: Dark Waters

header_292x136.jpg

Sacred 2: Gold Edition

For beating the average, current levelling out at a fairly nice $5.64:

header_292x136.jpg

Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition

header_586x192.jpg

Saints Row: The Third - Full DLC Package

  • This contains almost all of the DLC (the only stuff not included is stuff that basically breaks the gameplay)
  • Normally available in a bundle with the base game for $30

header_292x136.jpg

Metro 2033

header_292x136.jpg

Risen

header_292x136.jpg

Sacred Citadel

And for beating $9:

header_292x136.jpg

Dead Island: Riptide - Complete Edition

This bundle ends tomorrow, May 14th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT. Snap it up while you can!

Man, if there were ever anything to swing people back into Humble's favor after months of Mobile and eBooks, this would be it (this, or a Valve bundle ;). Wow.

I don't cover the daily deals in the Humble Store because they're a bit too Steam-y to get that much attention--don't get me wrong, the deals are great, but they're not usually on the level of a bundle. But uh, these are bundles, so... I guess we're going to have a very busy 2 weeks! :D

RE: Humble Daily Bundle from Outer Space + Weekly Bundle: Night Dive Studios + Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW + Store: Spring Sale

Humble Daily Bundle from Outer Space + Doctor Who Comics Bundle

Man, that title is getting long.

Today's Humble Daily Bundle is...

...from outer space.

This is going to be a short post:

header_292x136.jpg

X3: Terran Conflict

For beating the average, slowly rising from a "eh" $4.11:

header_292x136.jpg

Universe Sandbox

And for beating $10:

header_292x136.jpg

Kinetic Void

  • Normally $20
  • Currently in Early Access
  • Mac and Linux versions available

This bundle ends tomorrow, May 15th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

This is the smallest bundle Humble has ever done--one game per tier! I imagine they did that so they could draw attention to...

Humble Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW

There's the separate books bundle we heard about a few weeks ago! I was wondering where it was yesterday, but it makes sense to launch it on Wednesdays instead of Humble Bundle Tuesday. Link. In this bundle:

  • Doctor Who: Series 1
    • Includes three volumes; 16 issues
  • Doctor Who: Series 2
    • Includes four volumes; 16 issues
  • Doctor Who: Legacy
    • This is an Android game. This version has 10 Doctors unlocked a ~$10 value according to Humble.

For beating the average, which feel briefly to around $6 and is now rising at $10.27:

  • Doctor Who: Series 3
    • Includes four volumes; 16 issues

And for beating $15:

  • Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time
    • Includes three volumes; 12 issues
  • The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who
    • This was a 2013 special

Bonuses will be added on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

I'll probably cover these bundles in the Thursday Weekly Bundle update.

I'd like to include pictures here, but since I'm only providing the information Humble has on the page, that would basically amount to clutter.

Humble Daily Bundle: The Banner Sage + Platforming Weekly Bundle

Today's Humble Daily Bundle is...

And for beating $15:

header_292x136.jpg

The Banner Saga

This bundle will end tomorrow, May 16th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Yes, the main game in this bundle is in the highest tier. I understand that this game is 3 months old, but man.

I'm hoping that this and yesterday's bundle were small efforts so as not to cannibalize the sales of the Books/Weekly Bundle, but man, maybe not.

This week's Humble Weekly Bundle is...

Platforming!

At least we have a nice little genre-themed bundle to hold us over until tomorrow. :D

RE: Humble Daily Bundle: Humble Indie ReBundle 8! + Platforming Weekly Bundle! + Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW + Store: Spring Sale

The Humble Daily Bundle: Humble Indie ReBundle 8

Original post:: It's Indie 8. Not as much raw quality as other Indies, but PWYW is great for Thomas Was Alone and Little Inferno (and Awesomenauts, yes SotS), and BTA is good for Hotline Miami and Intrusion 2.

I don't have time to make a big post right now, so here's the link to my original post: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-humble-daily-bundle-humble-indie-rebundle-8-platforming-weekly-bundle-doctor-who-comics-bundle-presented-by-idw-store-spring-sale?pid=2440367#pid2440367

RE: Humble Daily Bundle: Team 17 + Platforming Weekly Bundle! + Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW + Store: Spring Sale

The Humble Daily Bundle: Team 17

Today's Humble Bundle is...

Team 17

Humble put out a header image-thing to advertise the Daily Bundles in the newsletters for the Weekly and Books Bundles, and something with Worms was among the items in it, so were expecting this at some point:

header_292x136.jpg

Superfrog HD

  • Soundtrack included

header_292x136.jpg

Worms Blast

header_292x136.jpg

Worms Crazy Golf

And foe beating $10:

  • Normally $25
  • Available on Mac

header_292x136.jpg

Worms Revolution Gold

header_292x136.jpg

  • Demo on Steam

header_292x136.jpg

Alien Breed 2: Assault

header_292x136.jpg

Alien Breed 3: Descent

This bundle will end tomorrow, May 18th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

You might notice that this is very similar to the Team 17 Weekly from a few months back. This bundle is a little odd compared to that one: PWYW is the same, except Worms Armageddon is now in the $6 tier. It's alone in that tier, as everything that was there before is now in a $10 tier, where Worms Clan Wars joins them. Welp, put this one on the rising stack of "odd Daily Bundles"--Armageddon was the only game in the original bundle's PWYW tier that had the core Worms gameplay, and raising the $6 tier to $10... It would have made sense to put Clan Wars, the newest game, in a $10 tier, but moving the old stuff there is really weird. Ha, the Team 17 Weekly raised controversy last time when it introduced the "link-your-Steam-account-to-your-Humble-account-to-redeem-keys" thing, so I guess the Team 17 Daily should bring more of it. Rambling aside, this is still a decent deal if you like the Worms spinoffs or want to get Clan Wars.

You might want to check out Card City Nights, currently on sale for $1 in the Store. It's apparently a little like the Pokemon Trading Card Game GBC game. Here's a WTF Is. There's probably a good chance this will eventually be in a bundle, but eh, for a $1, it might be worth checking out.

RE: Humble Daily Bundle: Hammerwatch + Platforming Weekly Bundle! + Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW + Store: Spring Sale

The Humble Daily Bundle: Hammerwatch

Hm, you know, maybe having 5 images per post for 20-some odd posts isn't the best idea...

Today's Humble Daily Bundle is...

Hammerwatch

This is another "PWYW to get stuff other than the game, pay higher to actually get the game", but I feel like this is more reasonable than The Banner Saga's "Basically 40% off" bundle.

862b303c60fa25cbfeff71a8f24203aa31d5fc27.png

Hammerwatch Soundtrack and Art pack

For beating the average, currently at a pretty high $7.06:

header_292x136.jpg

Hammerwatch

And for beating $8 (yes, $1 more than BTA):

60652b08cef85df2772073877413cc51e3fbf3c2.png

Hammerwatch Gift 3-Pack

  • These 3 copies come in addition to the BTA copy, so you get 4 copies total
  • The 4-pack of this game on Steam is normally $30

This bundle ends tomorrow, May 19th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Pretty reasonable if you're after a 4-pack--you're basically getting it for almost 75% off, plus the soundtrack and artbook. That's not really a hugely-better-deal-than-even-Steam-sales thing, but that's not too shabby.

The Humble Daily Bundle: Melee

First up:

The Humble Store Spring Sale Top 40 Review

Video says it all: Top 40 games in the sale, back on sale for the last 48 hours.

Today's Humble Daily Bundle is...

Melee

It's another "one game per tier bundle":

header_292x136.jpg

Guilty Gear Isuka

  • Normally $10

For beating the average, currently at $4.64:

header_292x136.jpg

Vanguard Princess

And for beating $10:

header_292x136.jpg

Blade Symphony

  • Normally $15

This bundle ends tomorrow, May 20th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

I suppose it is all about expectations. When we were getting some of those iffier Weeklies with lesser-quality/niche games and high tiers, obviously those weren't as good of deals as mainline bundles, and so we (I) adjusted expectations and now approach Weeklies with a "Oh, I wonder what it might be this week..." rather than a "Boy oh boy, I sure hope we get another Tripwire Interactive bundle this week!". :p

RE: Humble Daily Bundle: Crusader Kings + Platforming Weekly Bundle! + Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW + Store: Spring Sale

The Humble Daily Bundle: Crusader Kings

Today's Humble Daily Bundle is...

Crusader Kings

header_292x136.jpg

Crusader Kings Complete

  • Normally $10

9534ded480793d9fb6807e874cd63d0cbaec1b5e.jpg

A Fall of Kings: Champions of Anglia

  • Normally $5
  • This is an eBook
  • Oddly, "A $1 minimum purchase is required to receive A Fall of Kings."

For beating $8:

header_292x136.jpg

Crusader Kings II

And for beating $20:

header_586x192.jpg

Crusader Kings II DLC Collection

  • Normally sold in a pack with the game for $80
  • Does not include all DLC, not even all major DLC!

This bundle will end tomorrow, May 21st, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Lower expectations, that's the name of the game. I think the Daily Bundle is better taken as a new variant of the mainline bundle rather than 14 actual great bundles in a row.

In a way, these bundles are PWYW sales of the PWYW games; if you go in for $1, this is basically 90% off Race the Sun. Not too shabby.

This is interesting: The order of the tiers was:

But as soon as the average passed $6, it became:

PWYW | $6 | BTA

RE: Humble Daily Bundle: EVE Online + Triumph and Larian Weekly Bundle + Doctor Who Comics Bundle presented by IDW (bonuses)

The Humble Daily Bundle: EVE Online

Today's Humble Daily Bundle is...

First, a bit of info on EVE itself:

  • It is a subscription-based MMO
  • It's on Steam, but this bundle can't be redeemed there.
  • It's available on Mac

EVE Online: Vanity Pack

  • "Paint your run-of-the-mill Punisher Frigate in the colors of House Kador and feel the grandeur of the old Amarr Empire. Highlight the privileged status of your character by wearing an exclusive ‘Executor’ or ‘Esquire’ coat."

And for beating $20

070362d15e3233f2453153ae2929e279876f67ba.png

EVE Online: PLEX

  • Normally $20
  • Can be sold in the market, used as payment for "character services", redeemed for tickets to various live events, or used for 30 days of game time

This bundle will end tomorrow, May 25th, 2014, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Well, I guess this is good for new players and people who want that vanity stuff. You can apparently get a PLEX for less than $20, or buy one in the market with in-game currency (as expected if you can sell one in the market), so I don't know about that. This bundle is definitely... odd.
