I mean, he's not exactly a puppy, but yeah. He's a grown one.

It's Mightyena LA, everyone.

(Thanks PokeBeach)

I've been thinking...Gallade 4 LV.X, Dialga G LV.X, Luxray GL LV.X, ALL OF THESE SP LV.Xs have been taking over the format! Mightyena LA, (in my opinion) can save the butts of many if we teched this puppy in. He can deal 60 with one Energy against Gengar. Sick of LuxApe switching your Claydol and Uxie in for the KO? Mightyena's Bite On can change that. They're stuck, and can't do a thing for a whole turn. I don't see any evolved Pokemon in the format right now, (give Mother Gengar and Machamp, and MAYBE those Dusknoir now and then) except for the SP Pokemon. They have been ruling, and people are taking advantage of that. Wouldn't be nice to see the look on your opponent's face to play that Mightyena? Seeing he has almost no way out?

Please discuss, if Mightyena can make a comeback or not.

Can I see a scan of Toxicroak G, please? I dunno what that does.

He's got a built-in Unown G Body.

dmaster out.

Your opponent could Warp Point/Switch, retreat, or Poke Turn out of the effects as well. Plus, in a format filled with Machamp and a few decks with a Promocroak G tech, I don't think it'll really be that good.

Could I maybe have a LINK to see the Promocroak G?

Toxicroak G Lv.45 - HP 90
Basic Pokemon (SP)

Poke-Power: Leap Away
Once during your turn (before you attack), you may use this power if Toxicroak G is your Active Pokemon. Flip a coin. If heads, return Toxicroak G and all cards attached to it to your hand. This Power can’t be used if Toxicroak G is affected by a Special Condition.

[P][C] Poison Revenge: 20 damage. If any of your Pokemon were Knocked Out by damage from an attack during your opponent’s last turn, this attack does an additional 40 damage and the Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned.

Weakness: Psychic x2
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

It's the JP translation. Sorry, but I couldn't get an english scan:/

I don't think that's the right one. That's the PT one.

Edit: Never mind. :p I don't see how it's any good.

it OHKO's mightyena... ALL SP decks run poketurn (the good ones) that get's right out of this, and then they will just OHKO you right there, not very amazing.

poketurn
level up
warp point
unown g
croak PT
promocroak

its an ineffective tech at what it's trying to counter and completely useless against everything else. Bad.

mostly everybody arguments against Mightyena (LA) is that there are so many cards against it...most SP decks do run PokeTurn, but you can only have 4 of those...some do run Warp Point with it, but once again, you can only have 4, both together with PokeTurn that is a good counter against Mightyena (LA), but just having Mightyena (LA) is a good way to make a person running an SP have to think harder about how they're gonna go about dealing with it, instead of being in semi-autodrive mode

Unown G...so far I haven't seen alot of SP decks run a lot of these, I mainly see them more worried about Energy Gain, which if there is an SP with that on it, it can't very well have Unown G attached, now can it?

Promocroak G...does not OHKO Mightyena...maybe if a pokemon was KO'd the preceding turn

Toxicroak G...ok, so you can't Bite On it...it still takes damage and still does minimal damage to Mightyena (LA)

and as for Leveling Up...doesn't help...it's still considered a unevolved pokemon, and being it's not a special condition, it is not gotten rid of by Leveling Up

overall, Mightyena (LA) is a decent tech against SP decks, it's not the best...but it is decent, SP decks' ways of dealing with it is conditional, and while the combo of Warp Point and PokeTurn is the best way to deal with it, that is still limited in use, and would require having those cards in hand when the need arrises (and yes, I know about Cyrus's Conspiracy...once again, limited in use)

My friend you have been playing against TERRIBLE SP decks then.

Really, this card does not help AT ALL against SP decks. Poke-Turn beats it, Toxicroak G beats it, Unown G beats it, Warp Point beats it, need I go on? SP decks run at LEAST 6 cards that can get around it, and some may run even more. Also, fitting in a 1-1 line and a Dark Energy isn't something ALL decks can do. Mightyena also has to attack, which isn't favorable....and considering SPs are likely to take a few quick prizes before you get Mightyena, you'll have a hard time to even get one KO with it, let alone 3 or 4. One Warp Point = free prize against Mightyena. Oh no, your tech is dead. =/

I'd MUCH rather run Mewtwo X. At least he doesn't have to attack, is a Basic, and has much better HP than Mightyena. Dialga G X isn't all too common in SP decks (unlike Unown G) so Mewtwo isn't countered as easily. What tech are Worlds players going to add for an SP deck? Mightyena? No, Mewtwo X.

I was using Dialga/Gallade/Honchkrow at nats. If I had been able to play against Mightyenia every round I would have been in heaven. Same goes for back at regs/states when I was using Legos. I saw Mightyenia and thought, "here comes an easy win!" :D
