The Meaning Behind the Gems in the Japanese Logo

Any theories? I feel like they may have something to do with Ash Greninja and AZ Floette.

And obviously not every Pokemon will have this trainer fusion transformation and I could see it being excluded to early game Pokemon (but accessible LATER in the story line) like starters, the rodent of the gen, and the bird of the gen. Plus others

I can also see this being like Mega evolution but ACTUALLY implement the bond between trainer and the Pokemon. (A so called "requirement" for mega evolution, that isn't needed mechanically wise)

Normally, I'd be excited to see a new feature like 'personalized Pokemon' in the upcoming games, but I feel it's too early for something like that, especially because it hasn't been long since Mega Evolution was introduced.

Even when considering the gems in the Sun&Moon logo resemble the ones from the Pokemon Reburst manga that create Pokemon-human hybrids,
I still think it'll make more sense if the gems are only connected to the legendary Pokemon in S&M.
(Like the Alpha Omega logo in ORAS)

Hopefully, the Sun and Moon legendaries aren't going to be humans fused with Pokemon that bear the shape of 100% Zygarde haha

Honestly, I really hope that it's more like the Synergy things from Pokken than the ReBurst crystals... I feel like fusing with your Pokemon is just... I don't know. Something that the developers would spend more time on rather than focusing on small graphic improvements, a deep story, character development, etc.

Or maybe we're all wrong and they're like the Meterorite in RSE/ORAS. Just a plot point. Nothing else.
