The thing is, a revenge rule is basically limiting who you can hurt and heal. Even if you want to legitimately hurt a pokemon because you don't like it, and one of its healers is hurting your favourite pokemon, the healers can just pass your ACTUAL reasons off as crap and revenge. But, the same cant be done for their reasons, since they hurt first.

Without the rule, it's all fair play, no limitations, no arguing. It can come down to whether or not someone likes a Pokémon, and it can also come down to some basic form or strategy. With the revenge rule it just comes down to who can hurt the most favourite Pokémon first, and get immunity from getting their Pokémon hurt.
