This is a thead about many fans liking the times of R/B/E, the games that started it all... It can hold discussion, debates and liking Raichu. :p

RE: Red/Blue/Yellow Appreciation Thread...

I still own my first game, Pokemon Blue. I beat the heck out of that game. Even got my Blastoise to level 100. Good times :p

RE: Red/Blue/Yellow Appreciation Thread...

It can bring back so may memories. Half the time I think it can step over the rank of Pokemon games today...

RE: Red/Blue/Yellow Appreciation Thread...

R/B/Y is the best type of games ever.
It had it's flaws but all GB games did.
I am just remembering the mising no. glitch (missing. number)

These Games Were the best back in the day and still are! I still own my Red Version although the Save function does not work :( . I'll still keep it for nostalgia though:p

Luckily, I still have Red Blue and Yellow. I have levelled everything to at least level 65 apart from Yellow, but christ it was such a good remake.

This should help answer your question:

Source - The Pokemon Wiki:

With the Gold and Silver game cartridges, a battery was used to support the in-game clock. After around six years though, the battery would die and any saved game would be deleted. Also any saved game after the battery had died would not remain saved. This problem was resolved with the Pokémon Crystal game cartridge however.

Onto the main topic... of course R/B/Y deserve appreciation! They're the originals after all. I just recently played through my Yellow version with Pikachu/Nidoking/Clefable/Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise (current team). Caught Mewtwo with the Master Ball, yessir. Good ol' fun.

Yeah R/B/Y are awesome games, by teh way i have friend who solemnly swears he encountered a Mew in he's pokemon Blue.
This is completely impossible right? he claimed it was in some cave, and no it wasn't Mewtwo :p

What you guys thing?

RE: Red/Blue/Yellow Appreciation Thread...

Cheat cartridge? There's the Mew glitch, but I don't think you can do it so you find it in a cave...

Anyway, yeah. These games are the most pivotal in the series. They started this whole phenomenon. ;o Best Pokemon games for significance IMO. Honored forever as definately high up on the GB list of best games.

Way to get mew if you didn't get it before.

Go to the Lavender town Pokemon center, at this point go left until you get to the basement passageway entrance. After this, Enter and exit, walk forwards and press start instantly! Here, just fly to Cerulean city. The old man will notice you, but you will fly away before he can reach you.

One you reach the Pokemon center, go past the nugget bridge and turn right to the maze of trainers. Go to the kid with the LV.17 Slowpoke this is the trainer just before the girl trainer, just before the two trainers that guard the TM Pokeball. , YOU NEED TO WIN THIS BATTLE. Once you have beaten him, just go back to Lavender town, head left into the small passage, and...WHAT'S THIS!?
