[I'm running one of these on a different forum currently, figured I'd try one out here as well. Think MS Paint Adventures, if you've heard of it. Think silliness. Silliness is paramount!

Well, best foot forward.]

1-TownOverview-2.png

This is the town you rule over. Your family has ruled over this town for the past 3 generations. The town currently consists of 40 civilians, 4 of which have shown promise as protectors of this land.

2-Heroes.png

These four heroes will need names, and skill-sets. Skills can be anything from a preference of a weapon type, to a specific element of magic they are good with, to an ability they possess, to some weird hobby. Each has 4 "skill points" to spend, and these may stack in order to increase the potency or range of a previously chosen skill. For example, you could spread these four points out among 4 different skills, or sink all your points in to one skill. The reason they don't have names is a sort of Schrodinger's cat type deal, they don't have names or abilities until they are observed by you, but that's not important.

These four heroes (2 male, 2 female), are to protect your land, and kill nearby monsters to allow for city growth. They will grow old, and die, but not before fathering (and mothering) a new generation of heroes. And those heroes will give you new heroes, etc.

NAME YOUR TOWN AND HEROES, AND PROVIDE YOU HEROES SKILL-SETS.

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

This looks fun, but I don't have paint. Do you know of a website that I could use or something?

I just reread it, do we even need paint?

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

No you don't. The idea is that the members of the forum suggest ideas, and I show how these ideas play out, very similar to a tabletop RPG. Right now, what you can do is suggest the names and skill sets of the four heroes, and name the town.

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

How about Daddy Long Legs for the red guy?

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

^

I think we Each get our own town with heroes, unless I'm mistaken

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

Sorry if I'm not being clear here guys O_O;

There is ONE town. This town needs a name.

There are FOUR heroes. Each hero needs a name, and a skill set of 4 points in total (explained in main post)

You may SUGGEST a name for the town, you may SUGGEST a name and skill set for one or more of the heroes. After a certain amount of suggestions have amounted, I will ultimately decide the town name and the four heroes, based on your suggestions.

So, for example, if Porygon-X had also suggested 4 skills to go along with his name, I would put that in the metaphorical SUGGESTION BOX. Then, I may choose that as one of the 4 heroes, or I may not.

Sorry about being unclear.

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

OK, I've read all of the submissions, and decided on these four characters. (Note that often times an ability will be downgraded, or changed. This is to make sure that none of the characters are too powerful. Don't worry, they'll level up and eventually get to or close to what you've described).

DaddyLongLegs.png

Daddy Long Legs (Red - Male)
Agility lv1: Ability to climb over small objects. (Yay, climbing. Higher level = more stuff)
Speed lv1: Faster attacking, easier to flee. (Yay, running)
Stealth lv1: Ability to hide. (Yay, hiding)
Bows lv1: Ability to use tier one bows, automatically grants a bow and arrows. (Higher level = better damage and accuracy.)

GuruDude.png

Guru Dude (Blue - Male)
Shield Magic lv1. Allows use of spell: Glow Shield: Grants minor defensive boost. (eventually leads to full out invulnerability spells)
Space Magic lv1: Allows use of spell: Gravitational Push: Allows target to float. (Pretty direct)
Space Magic lv2: Allows use of spell: Telekinesis: Deals damage to target. (Basically the force, moving, pushing, and pulling objects. Effects humans at higher levels)
Spirit Magic lv1: Allows use of spell: Warp Squirrel: Deals damage to target. (The higher this is, the larger variety of spirits you can summon)

ColonelThunderman.png

Colonel Thunderman (Yellow - Female)
Electric Magic lv1: Allows use of spell: Spark: Deals damage to target. (This leads to more powerful electric magic)
Mounts lv1: Allows use of tier one mounts, automatically grants a Geck. (eventually allows summoning of horses, and then battle horses)
Space Magic lv1: Allows use of spell: Gravitational Push: Allows target to float. (leads to all out gravity control eventually)
Swords lv1: Allows use of tier one swords, automatically grants a sword. (The more you level this up, the better her swordplay becomes)

TheMaskedMaiden.png

The Masked Maiden (Green - Female)
Swords lv1: Allows use of tier one swords, automatically grants a sword. (Again, more levels, better "swording")
Throwing Knives lv1: Allows use of throwing knives, automatically grants throwing knives. (IN THIS CASE, THE THROWING KNIVES ARE THROWING STARS)
Portal Magic lv1: Allows use of spell: Tele-flee: Allows automatic escape from any battle. (No smoke, but same effect.)
Languages lv1: Allows comprehension of tier one languages. (This includes all human languages, such as Japanese)

---------------------------------------------------

Now then, this is a map of the surrounding area:

2-Map.png

The Painted City of the Mystic Valley of Scary Monsters that eat Brains that love Eyes (The Painted City for short) lies in the middle of the map. There are forests to the North West, Mountains to the South East, Sand to the South West, and Rocky Areas and Grasslands throughout the rest. The blue dots represent tamed lands that are under your control, and currently pose no threat.

You currently have 10 money in your treasury, which you can use to hire citizens to build improvements for your city. You have your four heroes, who can go out and kill nearby monsters for money, experience, and safety. Once you have assigned each hero an action, they will spend a year doing that task in detail.

Now, turn The Painted City in to a prospering metropolis!

RE: The Rise of [City Name] - D & D/CIV/SIMS/'MON

Just wondering how much 1 money can buy?

1 money buys the work of 1 worker for 1 year. Certain tasks require a certain amount of effort, but they can be left incomplete for any amount of time.

Guru Dude buys a worker and an architect to work on one space below the main city. He puts up a force field for the workers.

Ah, poor explanation on my part again.

First off, when I say "YOU", I refer to the king/mayor/president/ruler of The Painted City, who you all collectively control. As the ruler of The Painted City, you may hire citizens to work for YOU. YOU may tell the workers what you want them to build, but they may only build in the city, or on any space you control. Examples for things you could build might be moats, outposts, armories, trading posts, etc.

YOU may also order the heroes to go adventuring, raise kids, quest, or train. Adventuring is how you get territory, experience, and wealth, having kids makes more heroes, training raises experience at a fixed rate with no input, and questing earns a certain amount of money at a fixed rate, with no input.

Well, lets order the hero people to raise some kids. In the meantime, we need to hire some people to build the city.

Keep in mind that raising kids will keep the heroes incapable of doing anything else for at least 2 years, at most 16, and that the main meat of the game is in the adventuring.

But if the heroes have kids, then we will have enough people to take the land in one fell swoop. Plus if there are more of them, there will be less loss if we do lose one.
