So there's been rumors flying around that The Simpson's is going to be
cancelled on Fox or something cause of money problems.

Discuss.

RE: The Simpson's to be Cancelled?

Well... A cartoon show such as the simpsons can only do so much before they begin to repeat ideas and characters and so on... They've had a good run and it's time to stop it.

RE: The Simpson's to be Cancelled?

Yeah I agree, the good Simpson's ended a long time ago. The only people who hope for the show to continue are the "fans" who'll love anything with the Simpsons name on it, regardless of how shoddy it is, and will become even moreso.

Seth McFarlane also said he sees Family Guy ending next year and he doesn't want Family Guy to go for 20+ years like the Simpsons. It's really nice to have someone acknowledge TV shows having a life span and need to end when it's time to end, unlike another cartoonist who says his show's "as good as ever."

Matt Groening you SERIOUSLY need to get a reality check If you think the Simpson's is still as great as it was back in the 90's, just go stick with Futurama. It's been going downhill for a LONG while now and Family Guy is following the same route as well too since Seth has been more focused on his other projects being The Cleveland Show and American Dad.

RE: The Simpson's to be Cancelled?

There's only so much clean humor that's funny for the whole family, that you can put into a show before you start getting repeat ideas. At least with family guy, its not limited to clean humor. So it still has a long way to go before Family Guy gets old. But as for the Simpsons, it was fun the first 8 seasons, the last ,what, 12-13 were horrible. It's time to go.

RE: The Simpson's to be Cancelled?

Family Guy has already gotten old, it's been around for at least a decade and the humor just isn't a great as the first several seasons. They've ran out of ideas for flashbacks, ran out of pop culture references to make fun of, and there's been hints that by next year Peter and Lois are getting divorced.

Because most of the newer episodes are in High Definition? It's as blatant of an overused gimmick these days as 3D and CGI and you wonder why Hollywood sucks nowadays, they don't care about quality for movies anymore they only care about making enough money at the box office. There's no excuse for what Hollywood is doing these days.

You know they're desperate to make a buck. If they can make a movie based on Rock'em Sock'em Robots with Hugh Jackman and Milton Bradley's Battleship starring Liam Neeson, then I suppose anything is possible. Next they could do Candy Land by Milton Bradley, oh wait they already did that with Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry in a music video. How ironic, wow... >_>

...how is that a reason that the show would be bad? If anything, it would freshen the show for a few episodes or so.

Turns out the Voice Actors of the The Simpson's finally made a financial agreement to keep the show going, so yeah it's not getting cancelled. I actually wouldn't of minded though...

Hope not, but lots of opinions here have a strong point.

Simpson had it's run. maybe it's time to go :(.

I heard about this and I was really sad.... I have watched the Simpsons since I was 5. For 9 years now. I mean, one person has the same voice as meany of the people....

It seems as if I am one of the few people who think the Simpsons hasn't gotten worse. I think the newer episodes are just as good as the older ones. I bet if you show'd someone who never seen the show a newer episode, they'd probably like it as much as they'd like an old episode.

Also, the human brain tends to like the original stuff more. Just as I find the original seasons of the Pokemon anime a thousand times better than the new seasons. Or how I like the original Karate Kid more than the new one. Its just how we work.

The human brain likes the original stuff more cause it puts more thought
and creativity behind it, plus it's not in High-Definition which is what is hurting shows especially Anime nowadays.

High-Definition is what's hurting Anime right now? Please explain this.

I think he means that The Simpsons and anime is NOT in HD. Not being in HD is apparently what's hurting anime for some reason that CSJ didn't bother to explain.
So inform us, oh wise CSJ. Shower us with your wisdom. =3

Well it's kinda hard to explain but I'll try to put this as simple as I can,
HD hurts it's "authenticity" where people relied less on computer technology to make
Anime and Cartoons nowadays they rely on it so much that it sorta lost it's "essence".

Please don't make fun of me Pokefan4000, I'm not stupid... -____-

Manga hasn't risen to HD standards and yet it still has quite a vast amount of popularity in certain areas. "HD" Pokemon art in the BW era of TCG just makes the card look - imo - uncreative. High resolution does nothing to "authenticity" as long as the show's interesting to begin with.

I can grasp this. It doesn't have the same feel to it now that everything is aided with computer assistance. It seems much more artificial that way, as if i were not a labor of love.

CAN'T WAIT TO READ MANGA IN 1080i FORMAT

The Simpsons will go for 2 more seasons. At this time there are no plans for any more future seasons to come. I am not a fan but the VA's are debating weather or not to continue after the contract is up because they are running out of ideas and it will not last much longer. The fact they got 2 more years makes them very lucky XD.:)
