Yup, you read it, this thread is sooo awesome here you can discuss everything about the Magic the Gathering card game, whether you're a newbie (I am) or experienced. Here you can talk about everything from gossip and new sets to awesome new deck ideas that makes even the Johnies drool...

As a discussion starter, let's talk about Dragon's Maze. Which card did you think was the most awesome, and why?

Tajic is my favorite Champion in Dragons' Maze.
An Indestuctible 2/2 that costs 2WR and has Battalion- Whenever two other creatures attack with Tajic, Tajic gets +5/+5 until end of turn? Yes please! I want to combo him with Odric so I can attack 7/7, 3/4, and whatever my other creatures are unblockable each combat step. So good. ^_^ How about you, PPP?

Mine so far has to be Melek. Sure that his cost might be a bit steep, but his ability to cast spells from the top of your deck, and copy that, made me feel really excited.
As you probably guessed it, my favorite guild is Izzet, with Simic not far after. You're a member of the Boros Legion, am I right Cobalt?

I wanted to play at the Dragon's Maze Pre-Release last Saturday but I was too tired to make it. It's definitely an amazing expansion though, as for being a Johnny in Magic these days well have fun playing Solitaire by yourself while your opponent enters their scoop phase by Turn 3 or 4. That's a huge reason why Wizards have "banned" Combo in Modern and Standard format except for Legacy. Seething Song got the hammer as well as Second Sunrise in Modern.

I try to get a few games in of EDH/Commander every now and then and I've tried to find a new deck idea for Kitchen Table one of which being Simic Thragtusk/Deadeye Navigator which seems good except it'll be very expensive to build even without a playset of Noble Hierarch's which Wizards still refuses to reprint in a Core Set due to Exalted. With Dragon's Maze it shouldn't be too hard for me to get a playset of Breeding Pools as well. If I go Bant with it I would need to invest in more Shocklands which seems like it might be a hassle.

Oh hey an MtG thread. I play, but only casual with a relatively small club/group of friends. My favorite guild is Izzet followed by Simic as well. I'm in the process of constructing a Thraximundar EDH deck now. Since I don't play standard much and I don't buy packs really (I buy the singled I need) new sets don't interest me that much I guess.

If you need help on your EDH Thraximundar deck I can try to help If you'd like. I just recently upgraded my EDH Uril, the Miststalker deck with some stuff from Dragon's Maze although I think it still has some trouble against my friend's EDH Ghave, Guru of Spores deck which runs Land Destruction on steroids by utilizing Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite with Natural Affinity and Grave Pact.

Has anyone tried out the "Random Card" deck challenge yet? Needless to say: I'm hooked!

I'm the kind of person who buys the cards, but doesn't actually go anywhere to play with them... so I stopped buying the cards.

If you're not going anywhere to play Magic then why not play Magic Online If that's your thing, although I personally prefer to play Magic and all other TCG/CCG's by the way they're originally intended to be played as, in physical print cardboard with card sleeves.

So my LGS is going to be having a booster draft for Modern Masters for a $30 entry fee, I say it's definitely worth it and unless If it's sold out already it's better than getting a booster box of it which is probably as expensive as the Commander's Arsenal set.

I think it's worth it too! The boosters are gonna be at the very least 7$! If I ever buy something out of MM, I'm gonna keep it unopened for 2 years or so and then sell on eBay for ridiculous prices!

Aaron Forsythe confirmed that there won't be a 2nd print run of Modern Masters, so I'd get it while it lasts. It's probably going to sell out faster than Commander's Arsenal and the 1st Edition Zendikar boxes with the Alpha and Beta cards in them. Speaking of Commander's Arsenal there's a card I'm trying to get out of it that's $50 on eBay, Sylvan Library. Arguably one of the best Green Enchantments ever printed before Survival of the Fittest came along.

I'm still waiting for when Wizards reprints the Onslaught Fetch Lands cause they're going up in price nowadays like crazy, yes I want my Windswept Heath and Wooded Foothills for my Uril EDH deck. Of course the Fetch Lands returned in Zendikar but only for the enemy colors, I'd still like to see the other Fetch Lands get their due as well. As for M14, it looks alright but like I said no Onslaught Fetches will make me sadface.

If Wizards can drastically reduce the price of all the shocklands from Ravnica block why can't they do the same with the Fetch Lands as well? As for M14 Spoilers it looks alright for the moment anyway. Ajani's Chosen looks really good but I would've liked it better as a 2/3 for 2WW instead of being a 3/3 so that I can Reveillark it for funny stuff. The new stuff that Slivers are getting in this set are okay but not nearly as good as what they got in Time Spiral block especially with Gemhide Sliver.

my fav is aetherling because it can own me. my brother plays it against me and most of my cards are enchantments like stab wound and dead weight. aetherling is awesome it just instantly gets rid of them

It looks like Aaron Forsythe lied, there's definitely going to be a 2nd print run of Modern Masters. I guess Wizards and Hasbro need to get enough supplies and back orders of the set in preparation for the Las Vegas Grand Prix in Modern format. This also means that players will still have the chance to play booster drafts out of Modern Masters like crazy before it officially goes out of print, and I'm already in the process of building a U/R Epic Experiment deck through singles I plan on buying at my LGS this coming Friday.

I'm taking a break from booster drafts in MTG for now, although I might be interested in entering drafts for Theros when it's released later this year. I'm hoping the block will be enchantment based with Enchantment Lands as a card type like Artifact Lands in Mirrodin block, not Scars of Mirrodin block which had decent mechanics aside from bringing back Poison however I still loved Affinity from the 1st Mirrodin block though, casting all your Artifacts for free with however many you had in play. Good times.

Do you mean Slivers? If so, they're already confirmed to be in M14. A lot of card spoilers are already up, including a bunch of them.

Alot of people are saying that M14 is a very underwhelming expansion compared to how good Modern Masters is. I only saw a few cards in M14 good enough to be great in EDH/Commander and other formats like the new Garruk, Strionic Resonator, Imposing Sovereign, Path of Bravery, Dark Prophecy, Mutavault, and my personal favorite Ajani's Chosen. The new Chandra isn't bad but she's mainly good for her middle ability to exile the top card of your library while you still have to pay the casting cost of the exiled card unless its a land.

Incase you're wondering about the art on the new Slivers of M14, If you've payed attention to what happened with the Phyrexian takeover of Mirrodin that sums it up right there. Slivers were originally created by Volrath and the Phyrexians dating back to the Urza block and before. With the new Sliver's in M14 they might have a chance to shine in Modern format especially since it's so good with AEther Vial and Intruder Alarm which is still Modern legal as well. There are a few Enchantment related cards in this set which hints towards Theros block being Enchantment based.

I need help, and any help is appreciated. I'm starting from scratch, I gave my deck to my dad and now I'm wondering what intro deck to get. I prefer pyromancy and necromancy, but any deck will do.
