The worst Battle Roads ever (but still worth reporting)

Not much happened ahead of time. We (meadowbubble and I) got there early and I talked to some people. I still had to decide if I wanted to use Giratina or Mewtwo, and I decided on Giratina. I then played one match against RogueChomp and got wrecked, then parings went up.

I play Darkrai/Hydreigon.

Round 1 vs. Mirror

Well, I wish I could say every match went like this. I go first and get two T1 Deinos and a Darkrai active. Not too shabby, but I get worried when he get's a T1 Deino and Sableye, and I can't manage to get the Hydreigon T2. I do, however, get a Zweilous and a Sableye T2, which helps a lot. He then plays N and get's nothing. I get the Hydreigon and the Darkrai attacking, and proceed to kill the Deino and the Zweilous on his bench to prevent him from getting a Hydreigon also. It went pretty downhill for him at this point, and I proceed to sweep the field with Hydreigon and Darkrai. He gets some Max Potions at the end to stall me out, but he runs out of them quickly and I KO his final Darkrai for the game.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Michael Diaz w/ Empoleon/Accelgor/Roserade

There goes my luck, considering I'm playing one of the top players in the U.S. To make matters worse, he gets a Shelmet T1, two Piplup, and a Roselia. I get a half-decent start (unfortunately starting Sigilpyh though), barely managing to pull off a T1 Deino after a horrible Juniper (like, 3 catchers kind of horrible). He get's a T2 Empoleon, Accelgor, and Roserade, so I'm in trouble. He proceeds to N me into a crap hand. It does have an N however, which I proceed to use immediately. I'm not expecting anything major, but I somehow get a Candy, Hydreigon, and Sableye. Wow. I ponder for a while, and decide to grab some catchers with Sableye instead of Ko'ing something. He then starts locking out my Hydreigon with Accelgor and manages to get the KO. I manage to take a prize after he KO's Hydreigon and then starts locking a Darkrai. I get to a point at which I'm afraid to play Juniper because I'll only have two cards left in my deck. It turns out to be the wrong move because time is called during his turn. He's up on prizes, so he Deck and Covers my Darkrai twice more with Mew EX and I lose. Still a great game though.

1-1

Round 3 vs. Sam Chen w/ Mewtwo EX/Raikou EX/Eels (No Zekrom)

He goes first and gets a great start. I manage to get two Deino out T2, but I then stop drawing supporters and he takes out both Deino quickly. I can't do much from that point on. I struggle with Sableye and spam catchers on his Eels, but his 4 switches pull through and he proceeds to sweep with a Mewtwo with 12 energy on it (>_>).

1-2

Round 4 vs. Alexis(awesome) w/ Hammertime

Before the match starts, he complains about his name and tells me not to look at it on the pairings list. Well, I already did, so we make up a new name for him. Instead of Alexis he was now Alex is awesome (which he kinda deserved, he was a really nice guy). After that interesting exchange, we proceed to play THE most epic match I have ever played. He starts Sableye and goes first. It takes me a while to realize that it's Hammertime and not Hydreigon, but it doesn't really matter. I attempt to set up some Deinos but he catchers all of them to death. Suddenly, I realize he has no non-EX attackers. I send up Sigilpyh, and the fun begins. He realizes he's in a tight spot, despite the fact that I can't hurt him. He starts his master plan by Tool Scrapping HIMSELF (yes, you heard that right) and Junk Hunting for the Dark Claw that he discarded. I'm kind of confused, but I simply spam catchers and get an Eviolite onto Sigilpyh to stall. I'm in a supporter drought at this point, so he takes advantage of me not N'ing him by attaching the Dark Claw to Sableye. We both crack up because of this ridiculous maneuver and he starts spamming Confuse Ray. I manage to draw into all of my Max Potions and Tool Scrappers to stall even longer. It takes about 20 turns, but he finally manages to KO my Sigilpyh with Confuse Ray. He gets up and starts dancing. He then stops dancing when I play Super Rod and Ultra Ball to get Sigilpyh active again. We both can't stop laughing at this point because of the ridiculousness of the situation. Another guy comes in, who was watching the match earlier, turns to me and says "You're STILL going? Wow, that Sigilpyh is a beast." After a few more turns, he catchers my Darkrai and get's 90 on it with Night Spear. He has the second catcher the next turn so he takes his final prize for the win. It was surprising that I even made it that close, considering he had 5 cards left in his deck when he won. We both lol again when we see his final two prizes: his last two N. All I can say is that was the best match ever. I don't even care that I lost.

1-3

Round 5 vs. Terrakion EX/Terrakion/Mewtwo EX/Mew EX

I go second and start Shaymin EX. I mean, I know it didn't matter if I lost here, but that's a pretty brutal way to start my last match. He gets an energy on his active Terrakion EX, and puts a Stunfisk, Mewtwo, and regular Terrakion on the bench. Perfect start for him >_>. I drop a blend on Shaymin, catcher his Terrakion regular, and totally whiff anything useful except for a Darkrai off of my Juniper. He N's next turn and whiffs the Switch, so he attaches a DCE to his Mewtwo and passes. I drop the Deino I just got, put an Eviolite on Shaymin, and, in a somewhat risky maneuver, I decide to pass, pretending I have a bad hand when I really have a Candy and a Hydreigon, along with a ton of supporters. He falls for the trick and doesn't play the N he has in his hand. Big mistake. I get the Hydreigon up and get a really good hand off of my own N, which results in me getting a second Hydreigon the turn after. I get some KO's, including his Terrakion EX and his Terrakion regular, but he kills two Darkrai so I'm in a bad spot with that Shaymin still sitting on my field. He hasn't got any more Terrakion out so I cant just kill those with Shaymin. He put's Mewtwo up, and then he realizes he doesn't have enough energy to kill my Shaymin after I moved the energy off of it the turn before. He then makes the worst misplay I've ever seen. He catchers the Sableye on my bench and KO's it, bringing him to one prize to my three. I proceed to murder his Mewtwo with Shaymin, and, since he has no energy on the field, there's nothing he can do.

2-3

I then buy a single pack just for fun and get crap. Not the best day, but at least I met some PB members and had that epic 4th match.

Props:
Other cool PB members
The match organizer being cool
Sableye with Dark Claw and other 4th match shenanigans
Almost beating a top U.S. competitor
Not losing my last match so I didn't go 1-4
Meadowbubble somehow winning a match with the not very good deck that I gave her with some of my leftover cards

Slops:
2-3 >_>
Horrible luck again, including going first once out of five matches
Bad pack
The store not having Dragon Shield Sleeves
Forgetting to turn my 3DS on for StreetPass
RogueChomp getting donked twice

I can honestly say I have never seen a Sableye used like that. lol

I very often only go first once in a tournament, it's like tradition.
I think I went first once in the tournament like the last three tournaments I went to.
✌☹✌
EDIT:
Second time I've hit 2600 posts
