RE: The Worst of the Worst - Teapot's LeafGreen Playthrough - Chapter 10! double digits!

CHAPTER 11

Today is a long day of boss battles. Thus, 5:30 AM is my start time, an extra hour to be sure I can get them all in. We start by waging war to the north of One Island, where a fiery bird is threatening to re-awaken the local volcano, Mount Ember. The bird has several minions awaiting my arrival, some trainers, but most wild pokemon. Drohn was also in the entrance, and he was nice enough to offer to teach one of my pokemon Explosion, but somehow I didn’t think that was a good idea on top of a volcano about to go off. I sent Ratticate off ahead to scout the area.

*Teapot has joined #MtEmber
<@Teapot> OK Rocket. Here’s the plan
<@Teapot> get up on that tall ledge and play lookout
<@Teapot> if you see anything threatening
<@Teapot> make bird noises so that I know they’re coming
<Rocket> awwwww. Lookout duty sucks
<Rocket> I wanna KILL STUFF
<@Teapot> You’ll be fine
*Rocket goes
<Athena> STOP! I’m sorry, but I cannot allow you to pass
<@Teapot> not even a former super mod?
<@Teapot> doesn’t that get me a free pass or something?
*Athena sent out Bellsprout!
<@Teapot> atleastItried.jpg
*Teapot mashes “Fly” and wins the match
<Athena> I HAVE BEEN BEATEN, I MUST CALL FOR AID!
*Athena blows the horn of Gondor
<@Teapot> wtf is that Boromir’s horn
<Athena> yes
<Athena> soon you will be surrounded
<@Teapot> how exactly does that wo-
<@Teapot> you know what, I don’t want to know.

I quickly skedaddled my way out of Athena’s line of sight, and took on some more minions. Fire-types and Rock-types plagued the mountain. Pinky, my faithful Seaking, ate them all for breakfast. I eventually made my way up the mountain and into a nearby cave. When I came out on the other side, it was hot as balls, and boulders were strewn everywhere to prevent me from reaching the fiend. I’m thinking about how to get through them when suddenly:

<Rocket> KACAW
<Rocket> KACAW
<Rocket> THEY’RE EVERYWHERE
<Rocket> KACAW KACAW TEAPOT THEY’RE EVERYWHERE

I look up and see Rocket flying down the ledge with legions of fire pokemon behind him. Ratticate’s strength allows me to roll away the boulders, and in a chase that somewhat resembles the Beryllium Sphere Scene from Galaxy Quest, we eventually make our way to the peak of the mountain, where we are awaited.

<Moltres> so, you’ve made it to me
<@Teapot> Yeah, no offense, but your minions of Ponyta and Geodude aren’t exactly that great
<Moltres> Obsolete. When this volcano explodes, you will burn
<Moltres> My minions stopping you was irrelevant
<Moltres> I just needed them to stall for time.
<Moltres> Now watch, as the GLORY OF MOUNT EMB-
*Pinky used Surf! Moltres Fainted!
<@Teapot> Rip
*Teapot has left #MtEmber

*Teapot has joined #OneIsland
<!WPM> Welcome back!
<!WPM> I got the Chat Room up and running perfectly
<@Teapot> no thanks to peer, I assume?
<peer> I DID MY FAIR SHARE THANK YOU VERY MUCH
<@Teapot> touchy touchy
<@Teapot> Anyways, we should probably dip
<@Teapot> something about legendary birds wanting to take over kanto
<!WPM> seems legit
<!WPM> catch you later peer
<peer> see you WPM! Thanks for stopping by
<@Teapot> try not to break anything while we’re gone
*Teapot and WPM have left #OneIsland

I headed to the Power Plant next, because I figured Zapdos could wreak some major havoc if the power plant got too far out of control. Power across the nation could go down, electricity hurts, etc. Also I just really hate the Seafoam Islands, so I was just delaying them for as long as possible.

*Teapot has joined #PowerPlant
<Athena> STOP! You shall go no further.
<@Teapot> …you were just at Mt. Ember.
<Athena> yes.
<@Teapot> and now you’re here.
<Athena> as are you.
<@Teapot> …did you teleport or what?
*Athena sent out Rhyhorn!
*Teapot sent out Killer Bee (Beedrill)!

I dismantled Athena’s team once more, and then run around the power plant catching one of everything for my pokedex and picking up all of the items, including TM17 Protect and TM25 Thunder. Beedrill and Ratticate do well here because of their Fighting-type and Ground-type attacks. Unfortunately, I was unable to catch an Electrode because upon the encounter, it broke out of 8 Ultra Balls in a row, KO’d my Ratticate, and then proceeded to Selfdestruct when I sent out Parasect to Spore. No matter, I made it to the end in one piece, and found the beast awaiting me.

<Zapdos> I see my minions have done some good damage to your team
<@Teapot> Electrode are stupid af
<Zapdos> Now I will slaughter the remaining alive pokemon on your team
<Zapdos> With all of the power in this Power Plant in my control
<Zapdos> The people of Kanto will be at my mercy
<@Teapot> yeah ok
*Teapot sent out Hungrybox!
*Zapdos used Drill Peck!
*Hungrybox used Body Slam!

…yeah I’m not gonna give a full log. Tl;dr: Zapdos and Wigglytuff exchanged Drill Peck and Body Slam, but Wigglytuff came out on top due to the Paralysis it got. Also Wigglytuff is pushing 200 HP and it’s not even Lv. 50 yet, so it is fat. Next we waged war on the Seafoam islands to the south of Fuschia City. My Parasect easily thrashes the trainers on the way down because they all use Water-type pokemon. Soon enough, I’m approaching the entrance.

*Teapot has joined #SeafoamIslands
<Athena> Stop! I cannot allow you t-
<@Teapot> Yeah yeah, I can’t pass, etc.
*Teapot sent out Hungrybox (Wigglytuff)!
*Athena sent out Goldeen!
<@Teapot> lel

Hungrybox uses Shock Wave a couple of times and dismantles Athena’s team for the 3rd time in a row. You’d think such legendary beasts as the birds would give their guardians better teams to work with. And afterwards, into the cave I went. Typical, looting all of the items and catching anything I don’t have already.

<Rocket> Jesus Christ it’s colder than Wisconsin in this cave
<@Teapot> wuss
<Rocket> My fur’s not very thick, what do you want from me?
<@Teapot> I don’t have fur at all.
<Rocket> True, but- OW WTF
<Zubat> lelelelel
<Rocket> LEMME AT HIM
<@Teapot> sure, use str-
<@Teapot> wait, I haven’t caught a Zubat yet. Wtf.
<@Teapot> Ok use Super Fang.
<Rocket> BUT THAT WON’T KILL IT
<@Teapot> tough love
*Teapot chucks a PokeBall. Zubat was caught!
<Rocket> I want to kill the next bat I s- JESUS GET OFF OF ME OW OW OW
<Golbat> lelelelelel
<@Teapot> LOOK ANOTHER TARGET
*Teapot chucks another PokeBall

I nicknamed the Zubat Crumpets, after the one used in DNA’s Dolo run-through of Pokemon Pearl. The Golbat I nicknamed Y-wing. (Crobat is X-wing. Solid nicknames IMO.) Ratticate killed the rest of the Zubats it faced. Measly EXP Points but they give Speed EVs, so I wasn’t concerned. I loot the cave (A Revive, an Ice Heal, and an Ultra Ball are my spoils.) Soon enough, I’m facing the big boss himself.

<Articuno> Welcome to my lair
<@Teapot> oh ty. Very courteous.
<Articuno> Least I can do since I’m about to destroy you.
<@Teapot> So I’m just wondering, what exactly is your plan?
<Articuno> Freeze the world. Cause massive blizzards and another ice age. Etc.
<Articuno> Typical Ice-type villain things
<@Teapot> uh-huh. And why did you choose this for your location?
<Articuno> Because it’s the coldest place in Kanto!
<@Teapot> …well yeah. But I mean like
<@Teapot> Moltres was on a volcano. It could have exploded.
<@Teapot> Zapdos was in a Power Plant, where it could shut down + control power
<@Teapot> What exactly happens here…?
<Articuno> IT’S THE COLDEST PLACE IN KANTO!
<@Teapot> …ok that’s all, you can continue with destroying me now
*Teapot sent out Rocket!

Tl;dr: Rocket uses Super Fang, and then Strength twice for the KO. Articuno just uses Mist and Mind Reader, which are the two worst possible moves that could have been picked. Then, I have Rocket use Dig to get us back to the surface. With all the bosses defeated, there’s just one place left to go. 3 boss battles can only be topped by a fourth.

*Ch’ding used Fly!
*Teapot has joined #ViridianCity
<~ShiningRaikou> Well look at that Teapot, you’ve finally made it
<~ShiningRaikou> The last challenge
<~ShiningRaikou> before the last challenge
<~ShiningRaikou> before the Pokemon League
<~ShiningRaikou> before the post-game.
<@Teapot> Can’t say it any better than that
<@Teapot> Can you heal my pokemon before I go for the challenge?
<~ShiningRaikou> Yep, no problem!
<@Teapot> It’s great to finally be here
<~ShiningRaikou> Drohn, WPM and I are all rooting for you. Good luck, Teapot!
<@Teapot> thanks, man!
*Teapot has joined #Gym
<@Teapot> Sup, Spoon?
<@Teapot> …oh. The warp panels are back.
<@HeavenlySpoon> Yes, they are.
<@HeavenlySpoon> Anyways, the leader here likes Ground-type pokemon.
<@HeavenlySpoon> Water-types and Grass-types will be best.
<@Teapot> OK Cool.
<@HeavenlySpoon> Some Poison-types and Fighting-types are disbursed among the Gym Trainers
<@HeavenlySpoon> Mew can be used for them ;)
<@Teapot> haha, of course it can
<@HeavenlySpoon> I’m rooting for you, man! Good luck!
<@Teapot> Thanks
<DarkVoid> Allow me to be the first to welcome you, to Viridian City’s Gym!
<Blah237> and I can be the second
<Lugia123> and me the third
<@Teapot> …oh. That’s who the leader is.

Team Rocket’s 3 favorite Grunts are of course awaiting my arrival at Viridian City Gym, awaiting my challenge. Unfortunately, the three of them have actually decent teams this time, and they all put in some solid damage against my team. Blah’s team of Arbok and Tauros puts up a very good fight. The double Intimidate neutered Farfetch’d’s (lol, the double apostraphe) Swords Dance, and they probably would have won if not for the raised Crit ratio (thanks, Stick.)Dark Void carried 5 pokemon – unusually high for a lowly Gym Trainer. And he carried a Super Potion. Even scarier, though, 3 of his 5 were fully evolved – including a Nidoking. He managed to KO Parasect and put a ton of damage with Double Kick + Poison Point (lol no Sheer Force) onto Wigglytuff. Lugia123 put up the most intense fight, however. He too, used 5 total pokemon, the first of which, Marowak, managed to take out my Ratticate, and the last of which, Nidoqueen, put a lot of damage onto my Seaking via paralysis from Body Slam.

Of course, I have a million Hyper Potions, Full Heals, and Revives, so none of the damage these guys do ends up mattering. I just thought it was worth mentioning that they put up a noble fight (for once.) I came to the final room, and who do I find? Yep, that’s correct! Surrounded by no less than 17 scantily-clad women is PokeBeach’s scummiest, Juliacoolo.

<!Juliacoolo> Fwahaha, you have made it to me at last.
<@Teapot> indeed
<@Teapot> when did you get the !
<!Juliacoolo> I’ve always had it, but I prefer not to use it if I don’t have to
<!Juliacoolo> In this case, I needed it to re-open #Gym
<@Tepaot> Ah
<!Juliacoolo> Anyways, I’m not holding back
<!Juliacoolo> Once more you shall face the world’s greatest trainer
<!Juliacoolo> and feel a world of pain!

<Spammy> WEEEEEEEEEEEE’RE LIVE
<@IceEspeon> Yes we are, and how about that plot twist, folks?
<@IceEspeon> Giovanni being the last Gym Leader? Who would have seen that coming?
<Spammy> No kidding folks. Anyways, twitch, welcome to the 8th and final-level Gym match
<Spammy> On the one side, we have the well-known Teapot
<Spammy> Using his team of lower-tiered pokemon
<Rocket> *censored* YOU COMMENTATOR
<Spammy> Teapot has several accomplishments in his past
<Spammy> He’s made the top 16 of Pokebeach’s Master Cup 2 years in a row
<Spammy> Made the top 16 of Smogon’s RU Open
<Spammy> and had a near-undefeated season in the Underused Premier League
<Spammy> but he’s still looking for that one big win
<@IceEspeon> On the other side, we have perhaps Pokebeach’s most underrated battler, Juliacoolo
<@IceEspeon> He’s known for using some very gimmicky teams, such as Final Gambit and Rain Dance
<@IceEspeon> But let’s not forget he made the Semi-finals of PokeBeach’s Official Tournament #4
<@IceEspeon> and the FINALS of the PBOT #3, losing only to the mighty gamercal
<@IceEspeon> Needless to say, we will see a great battle from these two trainers
<Spammy> They’ve jumped right into the action, Juliacoolo leading with Rhyhorn
<Spammy> Teapot has opted for Farfetch’d. Not a great matchup for him.
<@IceEspeon> Will we see a- oh, yup. Teapot goes straight out to Hungrybox, his Wigglytuff.

*Rhyhorn used Take Down! Hungrybox lost 25% health
<@Teapot> those defense EVs are really starting to pay off, it looks like
<!Juliacoolo> Yeah, no kidding. I remember when this was still a Jigglypuff
*Hungrybox used Water Pulse! Rhyhorn fainted!
<@Teapot> Excellent work!
*Juliacoolo sent out Nidoqueen!
<@Teapot> oh. Well then

<Spammy> First blood to Teapot, it looks like
<Spammy> However, that Nidoqueen could be problematic
<@IceEspeon> For those of you who don’t know, Nidoqueen is slightly more bulky than the King is
<@IceEspeon> it doesn’t hit quite as hard, but it has a very diverse movepool to get the advantage
*Hungrybox used Body Slam! Nidoqueen lost 40% Health!
*Nidoqueen’s Poison Point poisoned Hungrybox!
<Spammy> oof, that’s not a great position for Wigglytuff to be in
*Nidoqueen used Earthquake! Hungrybox lost 60% Health! Hungrybox is hurt by poison!
<@IceEspeon> If Teapot doesn’t do something, his Wigglytuff is going to go down
<@IceEspeon> That would be a massive blow to Teapot’s team

<@Teapot> Hungrybox, do the best you can. We’ve got this
*Hungrybox used Body Slam! Nidoqueen lost 45% Health!
<@Teapot> bs, no paralysis
*Nidoqueen used Earthquake! Wigglytuff fainted!
<@Juliacoolo> Nice job, Nidoqueen. That was one of the biggest threats to our team
*Teapot sent out Noble Duck (Farfetch’d)!

<@IceEspeon> Wigglytuff is down, and that’s good news for Juliacoolo
<@IceEspeon> But he still has to get by the Seaking, which will be a challenge
<Spammy> HEY TEAPOT
<Spammy> MY OFFER STILL STANDS
<Spammy> SWEEP WITH FARFETCH’D = PINK TUTU FOR NEXT STREAM
<Spammy> huehuehue
*Juliacoolo used Hyper Potion on Nidoqueen!
*Noble Duck used Swords Dance!
<@IceEspeon> oh-oh. That doesn’t bode well for you, Spammy
<@IceEspeon> looks like #ItemMeta isn’t working out in your favor this time
*Noble Duck used Swords Dance!
<Spammy> The greed is real
*Nidoqueen used Body Slam! Noble Duck lost 25% health! Farfetch’d became Paralyzed!
<Spammy> 25%??? THAT’S IT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
*Nidoqueen used Body Slam! Noble Duck lost 25% health!
*Farfetch’d used Swords Dance! Farfetch’d’s stats are maxed out!

<@Teapot> THIS ONE’S FOR YOU SPAMMY
<!Juliacoolo> hmmm this might be bad
*Teapot used a Full Heal!
*Nidoqueen used Body Slam! Farfetch’d lost 25% health and was paralyzed!
<@Teapot> bs
<!Juliacoolo> kek
*Teapot used a Hyper Potion!
<@Teapot> #ItemMeta. Etc.
*Nidoqueen used Body Slam!
*Teapot used a Full Heal!
*Nidoqueen used Body Slam!
<@Teapot> …HAH! NO PARALYSIS
<!Juliacoolo> uh-oh
<NobleDuck> rip in piece
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Nidoqueen lost 100% Health! Nidoqueen fainted!

<Spammy> COME ON JULIACOOLO, YOU CAN DO THIS
<@IceEspeon> Is this it? Is Spammy going to need a tutu next stream?
*Juliacoolo sent out Rhyhorn!
<Spammy> oh thank god
<@IceEspeon> looks like we’re gonna need a crit for that to happen
<Spammy> DON’T ENCOURAGE IT

<@Teapot> Please crit pleae crit please crit
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Rhyhorn lost 75% health!
<Spammy> thank go-
*Rhyhorn became Paralyzed!
*Rhyhorn was fully Paralyzed!
<Spammy> SONOFA
<@Teapot> YES!
<!Juliacoolo> crap crap crap crap crap crap crap
<!Juliacoolo> I’m about to lose to a Farfetch’d
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Rhyhorn fainted!

<@IceEspeon> And down goes another one of Juliacoolo’s Pokemon
<@IceEspeon> and this one was his last resistance to Farfetch’d!
<Spammy> fml
<Spammy> Why didn’t they just keep it a Rhydon like in the original games?
<@IceEspeon> Tbh I don’t know. It’s not like Rhydon is that difficult to beat
<Spammy> please do something JC. Please. Please.

*Juliacoolo sent out Dugtrio!
<!Juliacoolo> OK, Dugtrio. I know you’re 7 levels lower, but you’re base 120
<!Juliacoolo> Please outspeed and KO.
<!Juliacoolo> Please.
*Dugtrio used Slash! Farfetch’d lost 25% health!
<!Juliacoolo> well shit.
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Dugtrio lost 100% health! Dugtrio fainted!
<@Teapot> COULD IT BE?
*Juliacolo sent out Nidoking!
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Nidoking lost 100% health! Nidoking fainted!
<@Teapot> YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET
<!Juliacoolo> Damn. Well, GG Teapot
<@Teapot> GG man
<Spammy> NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
<@IceEspeon> There you have it stream! Farfetch’d at +6 closes the deal
<@IceEspeon> and it didn’t even need any crits to get there!
<@IceEspeon> Teapot claims his 8th gym badge, and now has access to the Pokemon League
<@IceEspeon> We will definitely be livestreaming at the Pokemon League, so catch you then!
<@IceEspeon> Until that time, this is Ice Espeon
<Spammy> …and…Spammy…signing…off…I can’t believe that just happened

<!Juliacoolo> That was truly an intense fight, Teapot. Thanks for the match
<@Teapot> You too
*Juliacoolo gives the Earthbadge to Teapot!
<!Juliacoolo> You’ve earned that. Speaking of which, you’ve earned these too.
*Juliacoolo sets mode +a on Teapot
<&Teapot> nice!
<!Juliacoolo> The Earthbadge and sops make all Pokemon of any level obey without question
<!Juliacoolo> It is evidence of your mastery as a Pokemon Trainer.
<!Juliacoolo> Also, take this TM. Consider it a gift for the Pokemon League Challenge.
*Juliacoolo gives TM26 Earthquake to Teapot!
<!Juliacoolo> If you go to the west of here, you will find the guards to Victory Road
<!Juliacoolo> They will allow you to pass with all of your badges.
<!Juliacoolo> North of there will be Victory Road, and through that, the Indolo Plateau
<&Teapot> The Indigo Plateau?
<!Juliacoolo> No, the Indolo Plateau. In-Dolo. As in #Dolo
<&Teapot> …yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
<!Juliacoolo> There, you will find all the toughest trainers of the Kanto region.
<!Juliacoolo> And now, we must part ways
<!Juliacoolo> Good luck on your quest, Teapot! I believe in you, and so does everybody else!
<&Teapot> Thanks man, farewell!

8th Gym Badge in hand, I immediately save the game. It’s been a wild ride with my team up to this point, but we made it. Despite 2 Gym Leaders handing us the L, my team persevered and has earned the right to challenge the Pokemon League at the Indolo Plateau. Tomorrow, my team will have a fresh start, and we will head straight for Victory Road. Until next time, see you PokeBeach!

RE: The Worst of the Worst - Teapot's LeafGreen Playthrough - Chapter 11 is up!

CHAPTER 12

Today is the day. The final test. Before the final battles. Before the post-game. Before the actual final battles. It’s go time. My team and I have worked so hard to be where we are today, and now it will all begin to show. I first run to the PokeCenter, saying one last good-bye to ShiningRaikou and Drohn before I head off to the gateway that leads to Victory Road. Unfortunately, I had one more unforeseen final test. Before the final test. Before the final battles before the post-game before the actual final battles.

*Teapot has joined #Route22
<&PG24> Sup Teapot
<&Teapot> oh dammit. I just wanna go to Victory Road already.
<&PG24> What a better way to see if you’re ready or not than challenging your rival!
<&PG24> I’ll whip you Teapot, as a warm-up for the Pokemon League!
<&Teapot> In your dreams maybe
*Teapot sent out Hungrybox (Wigglytuff)!
*PG24 sent out Pidgeot!
<&PG24> Ok, none of this Body Slam BS He’s pulled on us in the past.
*Pidgeot used Featherdance! Hungrybox’s Attack harshly fell!
<&Teapot> K.
*Hungrybox used Shock Wave! Pidgeot lost 35% Health!
<&PG24> Ugh.

Pidgeot went down quickly, 3 Shock Waves brought it down. Wigglytuff took less than 50% in the process. Because, y’know, in gen 3, Brave Bird and Hurricane aren’t things yet, the best thing Pidgeot can do is use Wing Attack. Then, James (PG24) inexplicably decided to try and take me out with Rhyhorn for the revenge KO. Rhyhorn was promptly obliterated in one hit by a Water Pulse. Then, in an even more inexplicable move than the last, James decided it would be best to revenge kill me after that with his Growlithe. On the plus side, Growlithe did survive the incoming Water Pulse. Unfortunately for James, Wigglytuff is such a fat pokemon (base 140 HP) that the recoil from Growlithe’s Take Down attack finished Growlithe off. Finally, James does something sane and sends out Exeggcute. Given that my attack is now -3 and Leech Seed will sap a gajillion HP at a time (again, Wigglytuff is fat), it’s actually a decent move, despite Exeggcute having an even lower base stat total than freaking Goldeen.

*Hungrybox used Body Slam! Exeggcute lost 15% Health!
*Exeggcute used Stun Spore!
<&Teapot> ..really James? Of all the moves you COULD have used
<&Teapot> You went for the paralysis
<&Teapot> smh
*Exeggcute began absorbing light!
<&Teapot> lolk
*Teapot withdrew Hungrybox! Teapot sent out Killer Bee!
*Exeggcute used Solarbeam! Killer Bee lost 5% health!
<&PG24> weak as *censored*
*Killer Bee used Twineedle! Exeggcute fainted!
*PG24 sent out Alakazam!
*Killer Bee used Twineedle! Alakazam lost 100% health! Alakazam fainted!
<&PG24> WTF HOW DOES IT OUTSPEED ALAKAZAM
<&Teapot> Mega Beedrill confirmed
*PG24 sent out Blastoise!
<&Teapot> hmmm
*Killer Bee used Twineedle! Blastoise lost 15% health!
<&Teapot> That could be a probl-
*Blastoise used Water Gun!
<&Teapot> ……..
<&Teapot> You have a level 53 Blastoise
<&Teapot> And the best move you can use is Water Gun
<&PG24> Yeah :[ It hasn’t learned Hydro Pump yet
<&Teapot> what, you didn’t teach it surf?
<&PG24> I didn’t want the HM move to be stuck on it
<&Teapot> OK then

The battle went on. PG24 set up Rain Dance to try and power up the extremely pitiful move that is Water Gun. Beedrill eventually brought the Blastoise down thanks to Twineedle’s poisoning effect. The damage build up was just too much for the turtle to handle. So in an extremely underwhelming display of “power,” my team came out victorious without losing a single pokemon.

<&PG24> That loosened me up! I’m ready for th-
<&PG24> Screw the script. I’m going to grind the *censored* out of this weak-ass team
<&PG24> You might even beat me to the elite 4 this time around. Smh
<&PG24> Good luck in Victory Road, see you at the finish line!
<&Teapot> Yeah, you too man! Travel safe!

I ran back to the Viridian City Poke Center, healed up (again), said good-bye to Drohn and ShiningRaikou (again), and then flew to Cinnabar. I went to the PokeMart there and stocked the crap out of Hyper Potions, Revives, and Full Heals. I also sold all of the items that I didn’t need (Fire Stones, Big Pearls, etc.) Then, my faithful Noble Duck flew me back to Viridian City, and we were off once more.

*Teapot has joined #VictoryRoadGate
<Athena> Stop!
<&Teapot> Man why do you have to guard everything
<Athena> Only those with the Boulderbadge may pass
*Teapot flashes the Boulderbadge
<Athena> Go right ahead
*Teapot goes right ahead
<&Teapot> Lovely weather for a stroll…
<Athena> Stop! Only those with the Cascadebadge may pass!
<&Teapot> …you were just back there…
<Athena> And now I’m here. Cascadebadge please.

And so it goes. Athena is the gateway policewoman at every single checkpoint, and checks me for all 8 badges. There’s some grass where wild pokemon are a ways in, and I KO some wild Fearow to gain some exp points. I pass the patch of grass where I randomly found a Shiny Mankey once, and memories begin to flow through my head. It’s been almost a year exactly to this day, and I have not found another shiny pokemon since on any of my games. I grab the Sitrus Berry directly to the left of the entrance, and finally, the test begins.

*Teapot has joined #VictoryRoad
<&Teapot> hmmm…pushing boulders it is
<&Teapot> Rocket, I’m gonna need you
<Rocket> You got it chief
<&Teapot> Shrooms, you’re a little low on levels, so I’m going to lead you.
<&Teapot> I’ll be sure to switch out out of Golbats so you don’t have to deal with that nonsense.
<Shrooms> aight
<&Teapot> Let’s get it
<PBGuest89> I wonder if you’re good enough for me…?
<&Teapot> Sounds like a challenge to me!

The trainer uses a Persian and then some Fire-types. Seaking clubs her to death with Waterfall. I then proceed to the right, and move the bolder to pick up the Rare Candy. Moving to the other side of the room, there’s a second trainer that leads a Ratticate, and then also uses a bunch of Fire-types. Seaking clubs this trainer to death as well. I exit and re-enter, allowing me to get TM02 Dragon Claw (not that anybody on my team can learn it), and then re-exit and proceed to another room.

<PBGuest90> This is Victory Road!
<&Teapot> …NO WAY
<PBGuest90> The final test for trainers!
<&Teapot> …NO WAY
<PBGuest90> let’s fite
<&Teapot> …NO W- yeah sure ok
*Teapot sent out Shrooms!
*PBGuest90 Sent out Machoke!

Tl;dr – Shrooms uses Aerial Ace a few times and betas down the fighting-types. Attack EVs are good. There’s another trainer – a juggler who uses 4 Psychic-types. Beedrill eats him for breakfast. Ratticate takes down a trainer that uses Persian and Golduck, who afterwards, let out an extremely terrible pun of “I got whipped.” (It was a tamer, so he’s holding a whip in his hand. 3/10, Nintendo. You can do better.) I also picked up the TMs for Hail and Sandstorm. Yip-Skippidee-freaking-doo. Up in the next room, I think my first legitimate battle in Victory Road was staged.

<+PBGuest91> I heard rumors of a child prodigy
<&Teapot> That’d be me. You must be good, since you have voice.
<+PBGuest91> Yep. Let’s fite.
*PBGuest91 sent out Exeggcutor
*Teapot sent out Shrooms!
*Shrooms used Aerial Ace! Exeggcutor lost 65% health!
*Exeggcutor used Stun Spore! Shrooms became Paralyzed!
*Exeggcutor used Confusion! Shrooms lost 35% health!
*Shrooms used Aerial Ace! Exeggcutor fainted.
<&Teapot> Still stronger than James’s weak-ass Exeggcute.
*PBGuest91 sent out Sandslash!

I withdrew Shrooms and sent out Seaking, who easily finished off the Sandslash, and put Rain up. I figured why not, since my team has no fire-type moves. Activates swift swim and possibly weaken my opponent’s team. Also, Seaking leveled up and learned Horn Drill. If PMJ wants no clauses, he’s going to get no clauses. Anyways, my worthy adversary brings out Electrode, so I promptly put Shrooms back on the field. Thankfully, the Electrode doesn’t seem to know Thunder, because that could have proved painful. Unfortunately, it sets up Light Screen, which means I’ll have to Aerial Ace + Poison damage it to death. I figured it was going to take like 3 years, but I was wrong. Instead, my opponent withdrew the Electrode and sent out Arcanine. I just went back out to Seaking. I just set rain dance up and let it take the rest of the team out with boosted Surf + double speed. GG.
Venturing further in, I found the TM for Overheat. Another great move, but not very helpful to my team that contains exactly 0 fire-types. There’s some scrub who has a team of Charmeleon, Lapras, and Lickitung. The Lapras actually proves to be quite problematic for my team. Ice Beam was an EASY 2hko on my Ratticate, when I had 7 levels on it. Likewise, I only managed a 3HKO, with one of those hits being Super Fang. Lorelei’s team is going to be tough. Side note: This room used to be the room where you found Moltres in the original RBY, and what did they replace it with? A Guard Special. A GUARD SPECIAL. You’d think they’d put some kind of uber-cool item in here, or maybe the OVERHEAT TM. But nah. Guard Special = Moltres apparently.

<PBGuest92> LET’S FITE MY FRIEND CODE IS 918401 109401 410139401000000000000002
<&Teapot> k
*Teapot sent out Killer Bee (Beedrill)!
*PBGuest92 sent out Clefairy!
*Killer Bee used Brick Break! Clefairy fainted!
<PBGuest92> *censored*

Unfortunately for the guest, her team was composed of mostly Normal-types. There was also a Dewgong that took ~50% from my Beedrill’s Brick Break. Take Down did an equal amount to Beedrill. Again, this doesn’t bode well for my match against Lorelei since this Dewgong was very underleveled, and it didn’t even use a STAB Special Attack. And on another note, this trainer also had a Chansey that used Minimize. Nice to know PMJ won’t be relenting on his “no clause” rule any time soon.
Moving forward, I recognize the 2 cooltrainers next who use only Water-types and Grass-types, and I know I’ve almost made it. Wigglytuff with Shock Wave takes out most of the Water-type trainer, however it doesn’t OHKO any of his pokemon, not even a Poliwhirl. Again, this does not bode well for my match against Lorelei. You can tell I’m really looking forward to this match, can’t you? Anyways, Wigglytuff takes out 3 of this guy’s 5 pokemon, and the remaining 2 are finished off by Farfetch’d, who is the first pokemon on my team to break Level 50, as it takes out the trainer’s Blastoise. Beedrill makes short work of the next trainer, who’s stuck with Grass-types. It just spammed the Jesus out of Twineedle until all 5 pokemon were dead.
\
I push past the 2 trainers, and throw the boulder down the nearby hole. Then, without thinking about my good health at all, I jump down the hole after it. Ratticate renews its Strength, and together, we roll it onto the lever and go up the ladder, where there’s a double battle waiting for me.

<PBGuest93> We’re trying to become champions together!
<&Teapot> That’s so cute, I might just vomit.
<Pokeman> HEY! Don’t talk to my girl like that
<&Teapot> explains the big nose
<Pokeman> What?
<&Teapot> oh, nothing.
*Pokeman + PBGuest93 sent out Nidoking + Nidoqueen!
*Teapot sent out Rocket (Ratticate) and Pinky (Seaking)!

Rocket used Super Fang to lower Nidoqueen’s health (Since it’s more bulky) while Seaking just used Surf and KO’d both of them instantly. (Shoutouts to Gen 3, where surf doesn’t hit your partner in doubles!!!!) And finally, the ladder set me free.

<~Drohn> YOU MADE IT!
<&Teapot> thank god. That was brutal.
<~Drohn> In honor of this momentous occasion, I’ll gladly teach somebody Double Edge!
<&Teapot> Cool. Seems like a strong move for my Ratticate
*Rocket forgot Dig and learned Double Edge!
<~Drohn> Keep that drive going for the Pokemon League!
<~Drohn> Take a run at them and knock ‘em out!
*Teapot has left #VictoryRoad

I emerge from the abyss, victorious over all the trainers and pokemon inside. The light of day touches my skin and the warm breeze caresses my face. I’ve finally made it. I run up and to the left, collecting the Lum Berry that’s lying on the ground. Then, I see the stairs. I walk up slowly, trying to take in this moment. I’ve finally made it. I’m here. The final challenge. The statue reads “Indolo Plateau: The highest Pokemon authority! Pokemon League HQ” I enter, and find my friends waiting for me.

*Teapot has joined #IndoloPlateau
<@HeavenlySpoon> You made it!
<&Teapot> somehow
<~ShiningRaikou> Congratulations, man! Welcome to the Indolo Plateau!
<~ShiningRaikou> Can I heal your pokemon?
<&Teapot> Yeah, thanks a bunch!
<@HeavenlySpoon> OK, so let’s talk strategy
<&Teapot> Yeah, I’ll probably need it.
<@HeavenlySpoon> There’s 5 trainers in here – Ice, Fighting, Poison, Dragon, and then your rival.
<&Teapot> Ah, James still managed to beat me
<@HeavenlySpoon> Naturally, Mew would be a solid choice against all of these types
<@HeavenlySpoon> Given what you have though..
<@HeavenlySpoon> I would expect Ratticate, Beedrill, and Wigglytuff to play the biggest role against Lorelei
<@HeavenlySpoon> You can Super Fang her bulkiest pokemon, and take them down from there
<@HeavenlySpoon> Brick Break + Endeavour on Beedrill will do a lot of work,
<@HeavenlySpoon> and Shock Wave + hopefully some Sing hits from Wigglytuff
<&Teapot> Makes sense
<&Teapot> I figure Parasect + Farfetch’d will do the most work against Bruno
<@HeavenlySpoon> That’s what I was thinking. Just be wary of Rock Tomb
<@HeavenlySpoon> Agatha is going to be your toughest challenge by far.
<@HeavnenlySpoon> I don’t know what the *censored* you plan on doing to her Gengars
<@HeavenlySpoon> The only advice I have for you is to pray to sweet Jesus you crit her before her evasion reaches +6
<@HeavenlySpoon> After this is Lance. If you can manage to acquire Ice Beam, that would be great
<@HeavenlySpoon> Wigglytuff can learn it and also has Shock Wave for Gyarados
<@HeavenlySpoon> but it will still be difficult
<@HeavenlySpoon> As for your rival? Well… good luck.
<@HeavenlySpoon> I heavily suggest you grind some more before challenging
<&Teapot> I think I will, thanks.
<@HeavenlySpoon> Train hard + well, Teapot. This will not be easy.

So here, I leave the chapter for now. I know, It’s a bit short, but I want to knock the E4 all out in one chapter. Before next time, I have a TON of grinding to do, but when I return, the elite 4 will face their challenge. I also have to really think about how I’m going to beat Agatha’s Gengar, the best thing I can do atm is hope to crit with Farfetch’d. Anyways, until next time, Pokebeach! See you next time for the final non-postgame challenge!

RE: The Worst of the Worst - Teapot's LeafGreen Playthrough - Chapter 12! Almost there!

CHAPTER 13
0a319677b4.jpg
^That is what my days of grinding and leveling up were like. There’s a group of 4 trainers on One Island that only use Machop/Machoke/Mankey/Primeape, and they’re decently high leveled. So naturally, I VS Seekered the crap out of them, netting some attack EVS for Raticate, Beedrill, Parasect, and Farfetch’d. I also used the Amulet Coin in these matches to make big $$$$. The Money went straight to the game corner (so ironically, I shelled out like $240K to the criminal organization I just spent so much time trying to defeat) to buy coins which were in turn traded in for TMs. I got TM13 Ice Beam and TM24 Thunderbolt, which I used on Wigglytuff, and TM35 Shadow Ball, which I used on Raticate. (Remember, all ghost moves are physical in gen 3, the physical/special split hasn’t happened yet.) Shadow Ball was the most important one; it will hopefully make defeating Agatha much easier. After way too many hours, my entire team was what I hoped was ready.
*Teapot has joined #IndoloPlateau
<@HeavenlySpoon> Welcome back, Teapot
<@HeavenlySpoon> You ready for your challenge?
<@HeavenlySpoon> Leveled up and everything?
<&Teapot> Yep, I’m ready.
<&Teapot> Spent days out on One Island leveling up
<&Teapot> My entire team is now a MINIMUM of 5 levels higher than one of my normal ones would be
<@HeavenlySpoon> Good to hear it. I’m rooting for you!
<&Teapot> Thanks man!

…I didn’t tell HeavenlySpoon that when I challenge the Pokemon League normally, my team is only around Lv. 50. I use the crap out of Hyper Potions and Revives in those matches, and it usually results in one of the E4 runing out of PP. I didn’t have that option in these matches, so these games were going to be ugly. Nonetheless, I went up to the gate and made my challenge.

*Teapot has joined #Gym
<&Teapot> wait wtf
<&Teapot> Why are we still using #Gym
<&ProfPalutena> Too lazy to change over to Pokemon League or whatever
<&Teapot> BIPPA YOU’RE ALIVE <333333333333
<&ProfPalutena> Welcome to the Indolo Plateau Teapot!
<&ProfPalutena> I have the honor of welcoming you and being your first opponent
<&Teapot> Awesome. I’m glad it’s you
<&Teapot> Wouldn’t want it any other way
<&ProfPalutena> Are you ready for your challenge to begin?
<&Teapot> Yep!
<&ProfPalutena> Is the live stream ready?
<@IceEspeon> We’re good!
<&ProfPalutena> Cue music
<&ProfPalutena> Your Indolo Plateau challenge starts NOW

<Spammy> AAAAAAAAAAAAAND WE’RE LIVE
<Spammy> From the Indolo Plateau
<Spammy> We’ve got another great challenge for you guys!
<Spammy> This time, Teapot, who’s stuck with his team of low-tiers has made the journey
<@IceEspeon> His opponent, Bippa, another well-known battler here on Beach!
<@IceEspeon> He will be using the Ice-type this game, so we’ll see what he can do!
<Spammy> Teapot leads his Beedrill, interesting choice, and Bippa sends out Dewgong

*Killer Bee used Brick Break! Dewgong lost 55% health!
<&Teapot> Thank god for attack EVs
*Dewgong used Ice Beam! Killer Bee lost 35% health!
*Killer Became was frozen solid!
<&ProfPalutena> Sry
<&ProfPalutena> I’ll use hail
*Teapot uses Full Heal!
*Dewgong used Hail!
<&Teapot> thanks, you’re a great sport n_n
*Killer Bee used Brick Break! Dewgong fainted!
<&Teapot> EXCELLENT JOB BEEDRILL!

<@IceEspeon> Ah, so Brick Break was the reason Teapot started with Beedrill
<Spammy> Comes out swinging and already, Teapot’s got first blood with a swift 2hko
<Spammy> Also shoutouts to Professor Paulena’s sportsmanship, letting Teapot get rid of the freeze like that
<&ProfPalutena> HEY TEAPOT, I’M ABOUT TO SEND OUT SLOWBRO
<&Teapot> …?
<&ProfPalutena> CHANGE POKEMON Y/N
<Spammy> And it would appear Teapot forgot to set his battle style to “set”
<@IceEspeon> Probably a ploy to try and maintain type advantages
<@IceEspeon> Scumbag Teapot
<Spammy> booooooooooooooooooooooo
*ProfPalutena Sent out Slowbro!
*Beedrill and Slowbro are pelted by the hail!
<&Teapot> “pelted.” Not quite as good of a word as “buffeted” imo

Killer Bee Twineedles the Slowbro and scores a Critical hit. Bippa inexplicably decides to use Amnesia, and then is forced to burn a Full Restore because of my crit. Twineedle does about 45% the second time around, without the crit, so with Hail damage it’s barely a 2HKO. That being said, I wanted to save Beedrill for later, because I knew Jynx would be tough if I had nothing left to outspeed it. I just switch to Wigglytuff and finish it off with Thunderbolt. I only took about 35% in the process of switching, and then Slowbro decided it would be more appropriate to use Yawn rather than racking up damage, so Wigglytuff is now asleep. Wigglytuff eventually wakes up and obliterates the Cloyster that Bippa sends out next.

*Wigglytuff used Thunderbolt! Cloyster fainted!
<&Teapot> nice!
*ProfPalutena sent out Jynx!
*Jynx used Lovely Kiss!
<Hungrybox> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Jynx used Ice Punch!
<Hungrybox> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Jynx used Ice Punch! Hungrybox fainted!

<@IceEspeon> Professor Paulena’s finally got something going, but I think it’s too little too late
<Spammy> I think you’re right. The 2-turn sleep really ended up hurting Paulena
*Teapot sent out Rocket!
<Rocket> LETS GO BOYS
<Spammy> I’m not sure where Teapot’s going with this…
<Spammy> He still has Beedrill right?
*Raticate used Shadow Ball! Jynx lost 95% health!
*Jynx used Lovely Kiss!
<Spammy> Oh look! New Moves!
*ProfPaulena used a Full Restore!
<Rocket> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
<@IceEspeon> Looks like Paulena’s used his last Full Restore, which ends his #ItemMeta
<Spammy> Nothing but attacks left now
<Rocket> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Jynx used Ice Punch! Rocket lost 45% health!
<Rocket> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Jynx used Attract! Rocket Fell in love!

<&Teapot> …how can he fall in love if he’s asleep?
<&ProfPalutena> IDK man I just battle here
<Rocket> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Jynx used Ice Punch! Rocket lost 45% health!
<&Teapot> UGH WAKE UP ALREADY

Unfortunately, I didn’t. So I used a Full Restore, figuring I’d heal damage and Wake up, right? Right? I did. And then promptly got Frozen (again) by Ice Punch. Jynx finished my Raticate off with relative ease.

<Spammy> hmmmm maybe a comeback is possible
*Teapot sent out Killer Bee!
<@IceEspeon> There’s the Beedrill we originally expected
*Killer Bee used Twineedle! Jynx fainted!
<@IceEspeon> Teapot’s KO’d the Jynx, but you know what the last pokemon is
*ProfPalutena sent out Lapras!
<Spammy> This pokemon is bulky as hell, we’ll see what Teapot’s team can do against it

*Killer Bee used Endeavor! Lapras lost 75% health!
*Lapras used Body Slam! Killer Bee lost 45% health!
*Killer Bee became paralyzed!
*Lapras ate its Sitrus Berry and restored health!
<Spammy> #ITEMMETA THERE IT IS
*Teapot used a Full Restore!
<Spammy> AND AGAIN! Teapot and Prof. Paulena are both out of Full Restores now.
<@IceEspeon> If Paulena can get by this Beedrill, he can still win
*Killer Bee used Brick Break! Lapras lost 40% health!
<ProfPalutena> PLEASE PARA
*Lapras used Body Slam! Killer Bee lost 40% health!
<&Teapot> Nope. GG man, thanks for the game
<&ProfPalutena> GG Teapot, good luck with your challenge!
*Killer Bee used Brick Break! Lapras fainted!
<Spammy> There’s the game, folks! Teapot gets by the first member of the Elite 4
<Spammy> Next up will be Bruno, the master of Fighting-types. See you after this short commercial break
*Teapot uses a bunch of Revives and Hyper Potions
*Teapot also changes battle mode to “set”

<&Equinox> I am Bruno EQUINOX of the ELITE FOUR!
<&Teapot> Sup
<&Equinox> Oh, not much. Beating trainers earning money
<&Equinox> Typical Elite four stuff
<&Equinox> Anyways, looks like the stream is ready. I’m ready when you are
<&Teapot> Sounds good, man. Good luck + have fun!

<@IceEspeon> And we’re back with round 2 of Teapot’s Pokemon League Challenge
<@IceEspeon> They’ve already jumped right into the action, Teapot leading Parasect
<Spammy> It doesn’t even look like it’s high
<Spammy> 1/10 for no blazing it
<@IceEspeon> Unfortunately, Equinox has lead with Onix
<@IceEspeon> Sucks2suck
*Onix used Earthquake! Parasect lost 5% health!
<Spammy> BIG DAMAGE FROM THE STAB EARTHQUAKE
<Spammy> Man Onix’s base 45 attack is just massive, isn’t it?
<@IceEspeon> Teapot should have used Onix in this playthrough
<Spammy> lol shots fired
*Parasect used Giga Drain! Onix fainted
<Spammy> as PDC would say, “bop”
*Equinox sent out Hitmonchan

*Hitmonchan used Mach Punch!
<&Teapot> Oh thank god, I was afraid of Rock Tomb or something
<&Equinox> Yeah, I wish :[
*Shrooms used Spore!
<Hitmonchan> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Shrooms used Aerial Ace! Hitmonchan lost 70% health!
<Hitmonchan> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
<Shrooms> zzzzz is right. 2 ez
*Shrooms used Aerial Ace! Hitmonchan fainted!
*Equinox sent out Machamp!
<@IceEspeon> hmm interesting. Teapot’s forcing the Machamp out this early
<@IceEspeon> Equinox must be really desperate to get something started
<Spammy> I would be too if I was down 3-6 to a PARASECT

Machamp immediately began with a Bulk Up, which I initially thought was a terrible idea, given that I just spored it. Then, I saw Aerial Ace only do about 30%. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea after all. The Machamp also woke up after just 2 turns and 2HKO’d my Parasect with Cross Chop (thank God it didn’t crit.) Parasect did manage to do enough damage to force Machamp to eat it’s Sitrus Berry, though.

*Teapot sent out Noble Duck!
<@IceEspeon> Ahh, the Farfetch’d is here
<@IceEspeon> which reminds me
<@IceEspeon> HOW’S THE PINK TUTU FEEL SPAMMY?
<Spammy> Shut up.

Unfortunately, Farfetch’d’s Fly attack left Machamp with ~1% HP thanks to that Bulk Up. Farfetch’d was subsequently obliterated by Cross Chop. I sent out Seaking and set up Rain Dance while Equinox used a Full Restore. Thankfully:

*Pinky used Surf! Machamp lost 45% health!
*Machamp used Rock Tomb!
<&Equinox> damn, misclick
*Pinky used Surf! Machamp lost 45% health!
*Machamp used Cross Chop! Machamp’s attack Missed!
<&Equinox> fuuuuuuuu
*Pinky used Waterfall! Machamp fainted!

*Equinox sent out Hitmonlee!
*Seaking used Surf! Hitmonlee lost 50% health!
*Hitmonlee used Brick Break! A critical Hit!
*Seaking fainted
<&Teapot> ouch
<&Teapot> I HOPE THIS WORKS LOL!
*Teapot sent out Rocket!

<@IceEspeon> …teapot does know that Normal-types are weak to Fighting, right?
<Spammy> That Raticate better hit hard
*Raticate used Double Edge! Hitmonlee fainted!
<Spammy> oh, yep. That’ll about seal it for Teapot, I think
<Spammy> All Equinox has left is his Onix, and Teapot’s got Wigglytuff in the wings
<Spammy> oh wow, it looks like he won’t even need it

*Equinox sent out Onix!
*Rocket used Super Fang! Onix lost 50% health!
*Onix used Earthquake! Raticate lost 40% health!
*Rocket used Shadow Ball! Onix lost 25% health!
<&Equinox> Yeah, gg
<&Equinox> /forfeit
<&Teapot> Sorry for the Cross Chop miss
<&Equinox> No prob, man. It’s 80 accuracy, it’s supposed to miss 1 in 5.
<&Equinox> And I’m sure you had a water-type or something for the Onix anyways lol
<&Equinox> Good luck with the rest of your challenge, I’m cheering for you!
*Teapot uses a bunch of Hyper Potions and Revives
<Spammy> Teapot’s won his 2nd in a row, we’ll catch you guys in a few minutes for his 3rd challenge after this commercial break!

<&Uralya> Sup
<&Teapot> …oh. PMJ cast you as Agatha. I’m so sorry.
<&Uralya> It’s ok. It was initially going to be Pride
<&Uralya> Because Agatha’s the only one that uses any kind of stall
<&Uralya> But we HAD to make Pride Lance.
<&Teapot> SPOILER ALERT nah JK. I figured.
<&Uralya> Besides, It’s not like I had to be a woman for the entire game or anything, LOL
<&Teapot> >:[
<&Teapot> I’m gonna fite you for that
<&Uralya> Ready when you are. Good luck + have fun!
*Uralya sent out Gengar!
*Teapot sent out Rocket!

<@IceEspeon> And we’re back again! Teapot leads Raticate to Uralya’s Gengar
<@IceEspeon> This is going to be a great match
<Spammy> The former head of VG vs. the current head of VG, let’s see what they’ve got in store!
*Rocket used Shadow ball! It’s super effective! Gengar lost 65% Health!
*Gengar used Confuse Ray! Rocket became confused!
<Spammy> Well I guess now we see why Teapot wanted the Shadow Ball TM so badly
<Spammy> Before he didn’t really have a solid way to beat Ghost-types, but now he does
<@IceEspeon> I guess that 240K he paid to Team Rocket’s game corner was worth it
<Spammy> >defeats criminal organization
<Spammy> >pays 240K to them for some TMS
<Spammy> Scumbag Teapot

*Teapot used Full Heal!
*Gengar used Double Team
<&Uralya> I’M SORRY TEAPOT, PMJ’S MAKING ME DO IT
<&Teapot> It’s fine. We beat Koga with Minimize, we can beat you too
*Rocket used Shadow Ball! Gengar fainted!
<&Teapot> see? n_n
*Uralya sent out Golbat!

Golbat is just as pitiful of a pokemon as you’d expect it to be. Rocket does a quick 1-2 KO with Super Fang followed by Double Edge. The Golbat’s Air Cutter attack only does about 35%, so Rocket is still in pretty good health for later in the match.

<Rocket> COME ON BREH GIVE ME A CHALLENGE
<Rocket> YOU AIN’T GOT *censored*
*Uralya sent out Arbok!
<Arbok> GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I AM EVOLVED AND SCARY GRRRRRRRRRRRR
*Arbok’s intimidate cuts Raticate’s attack!
<Rocket> NOPE! NOPE! Tag me out coach!
<&Teapot> You are beyond lame
*Teapot withdrew Rocket + Sent out Hungrybox!

<@IceEspeon> Man, I’m telling you, Teapot’s bold strategy is really paying off
<@IceEspeon> He’s never failed to get the 1st KO in all 3 games so far
<@IceEspeon> it seems like he’s always up 3-6 before the opponent starts to do anything
<@IceEspeon> Even the elite 4 can only do so much playing 2 on 1
<Spammy> Yeah, he hits them hard and worries about the rest later
<Spammy> “Brute Force and Awkwardness” he calls it
<Spammy> If he overextends though, he’s going to pay for it
<Spammy> Oh, looks like his Wigglytuff is poisoned and about to faint. When did that happen?

Wigglytuff does fare decently agains the Arbok because for once, it’s not affected by Intimidate. Body Slam does about 40% to it, but Wigglytuff ate about a 35% attack on the way in and got poisoned from Sludge Bomb and another 35% on the turn I used Body Slam. I’m forced to burn my first Full Restore. Uralya thankfully only used Bite, assuming he’d have an easy KO. We trade Body Slam + Sludge Bomb once more, and then Uralya is forced to use HIS Full Restore. Then we trade Sludge Bombs and Body Slams back and forth repeatedly. No paralysis for me, unfortunately.

<&Teapot> HUNGRYBOX, GET A QUICK READ AND USE REST FOR THE AUTO-KO
<Hungrybox> ?
*Arbok used Iron Tail! Hungrybox fainted!
<&Teapot> I guess we still need to work on that
*Teapot sent out Noble Duck!
<&Teapot> Set up + destroy
*Arbok used Sludge Bomb! Noble Duck lost 55% health + became poisoned!
<&Teapot> oh, poop. The Arbok outspeeds me
*Noble Duck used Swords Dance while giving a death stare to Teapot
<&Teapot> my b. Sorry man.
*Arbok used Sludge Bomb! Noble Duck fainted!

<&Teapot> let’s try again
*Teapot sent out Pinky (Seaking)!
<&Teapot> set up + destroy
*Pinky used Rain Dance!
*Pinky used Surf! Arbok fainted!
<&Uralya> Oh well, at least I won’t lose to Farfetch’d
*Uralya sent out Gengar!

My Seaking does about 50% to Gengar with Surf, which is really a 3HKO thanks to the Stirus Berry. Gengar puts my Seaking to sleep with Hypnosis, and then spams the (physical) Sludge Bomb until I use my last Full Restore. Thankfully (I think?) Seaking gets poisoned from the next Sludge Bomb, preventing Gengar from spamming Hypnosis any longer. Seaking manages to tack on another 50% from Surf, but Gengar just finishes the now-weakened Seaking off with another Sludge Bomb.

*Teapot sent out Rocket
*Uralya used Full Restore!
*Rocket used Shadow Ball! Gengar lost 60% health!
<&Uralya> I hope I outspe-
*Rocket used Shadow Ball! Gengar fainted!
<Rocket> YOU’RE TOO SLOW
<&Uralya> /forfeit
<&Uralya> GG dude. If Gengar can’t win there’s no way Haunter can
<&Uralya> Good luck against Pride, you will need it
<&Tepaot> thanks man, GG for sure
*Teapot uses a bunch of Hyper Potions and Revives

<~Pride> *censored*
<Spammy> Hey, thanks for the heads up that you’re starting!
<Spammy> you lil’ shits
<&Teapot> SPAMMY WE’RE STARTING
<Spammy> *censored*

<@IceEspeon> Welcome back Twitch! We missed the beginning due to some…er, technical difficulties
<@IceEspeon> So far, Pride has drunkenly told Gyarados to Dragon Rage Teapot’s Wigglytuff
<@IceEspeon> Which did all of nothing thanks to base 140 HP
<Spammy> HEY TEAPOT! YOUR WIGGLYTUFF IS FAT
<@IceEspeon> saltier than McDonald’s fries
<@IceEspeon> anyways, Wigglytuff then destroyed the Gyarados with Thunderbolt
<@IceEspeon> twice
<@IceESpeon> because Pride decided it was a good idea to Full Restore it from 5% health.

<~Pride> kill it wit fire
<Gyarados> ehh…this is the closest thing I have
*Gyarados used Hyper Beam! Hungrybox lost 75% health!
*Hungrybox used Thunderbolt! Gyarados fainted!
<&Teapot> that might actually come back to bite me

*Pride sent out Aerodactyl!
*Teapot withdrew Hungrybox and sent out Shrooms (Parasect)!
*Aerodactyl used Hyper Beam! Shrooms lost 55% health!
<Shrooms> OW
*Shrooms used Spore!
<Aerodactyl> zzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Teapot used a Hyper Potion on Hungrybox!

<Spammy> Teapot caught a real lucky break there
<Spammy> Remember what I said earlier about how if he overextends, he could pay for it?
<@IceEspeon> Yep.
<Spammy> He overextended. His Wigglytuff has Ice Beam, but he let the Gyarados damage it so much
<Spammy> If not for the Hyper Beam, he might not have gotten to heal it
<@IceEspeon> Still might come back to bite him, he’s already down 1 healing item.
<Spammy> Yessir.

*Aerodactyl woke up! Aerodactyl used Wing Attack! Shrooms fainted!
<~Pride> rip in pieces u shit
*Teapot sent out Pinky (Seaking)!
*Pinky used Rain Dance!
<~Pride> wtf this is adv. None of this weather bs
*Pinky used Surf! Aerodactyl fainted!
*Pride sent out Dragonair!

Dragonair came out, and I decided to go for the YOLO Horn Drill attack, just for lulz. It didn’t work. Dragonair paralyzed me with Thunder Wave, so I kept clicking Surf. Eventually, Pride locked his Dragonair into Outrage, which was like a 3HKO, so I full restored and clicked surf some more until Dragonair was confused. Then, I let Seaking absorb one more Thunder Wave, before switching out.

<&Teapot> dip
*Teapot withdrew Pinky + Sent out Rocket (Raticate)!
*Dragonair hurt itself in confusion
<~Pride> wtfffffffffff

<@IceEspeon> All right chat, press 1 if you think Teapot predicted the dragonair hurting itself
<Spammy> 1
*Raticate used Double Edge! Dragonair fainted!

<Spammy> kk thx

<Spammy> Twitch chat, WE’RE LIVE WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
<Spammy> The former co-heads of VG are going at it for the title
<Spammy> In what promises to be an extremely exciting game!
<@IceEspeon> Looks like we’ve got a bird fight to start things off
<@IceEspeon> PG24 lead with Pidgeot against Teapot’s Farfetch’d! Let’s see what happens!
*Pidgeot used Featherdance!
*Noble Duck used Swords Dance!
<@IceEspeon> lolwhat
<Spammy> Welp. Now that that’s out of the way
<Spammy> Let the real fight begin

*Pidgeot used Aerial Ace! Farfetch’d lost 40% health!
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Pidgeot lost 40% health!
*Pidgeot used Aerial Ace! Etc etc.
*Noble Duck used Secret Power! Etc etc.
*Teapot used Hyper Potion!

*Rhydon used Rock Tomb! Rhydon’s attack missed!
<~PG24> bs I didn even give it alcohol
<&Teapot> awesome.
<~PG24> USE EARTHSHAKE SO YOU DON’T MISS THIS TIME
*Rhydon used Earthquake! Parasect lost 15% health!
<&Teapot> wow he really is drunk
*Parasect used Spore!
<Rhydon> zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*Parasect used Giga Drain! Rhydon lost 95% health!

*Parasect used Giga Drain! Rhydon lost 95% health!
<~PG24> fuu
*Rhydon used Earthquake! Parasect lost 15% health!
*Parasect used Giga Drain! Rhydon fainted!

PG24 sent out Pidgeot, who demolished my Parasect. 4x Super Effective Aerial Ace, he’s not going to miss that like he did Rock Tomb. Effect Spore put Pidgeot to sleep, so I used the opportunity to set up a Swords Dance with Farfetch’d. Unfortunately, the sleep only lasted the 1 turn, Pidgeot woke up immediately and Aerial Aced Farfetch’d for about 45% before I KO’d it. Farfetch’d is then KO’d immediately by Psychic from PG24’s Alakazam.

<&Tepaot> hmmmmm
*Teapot sent out Rocket!
*Rocket used Double Edge! Alakazam lost 95% health!
*Alakazam used Reflect!
<Alakazam> …welp
<Spammy> that is what we in the business call “awkward”
*PG24 used Full Restore!
<Spammy> And there’s the end of James’s #ItemMeta
*Rocket used Double Edge! Alakazam lost 50% health!
<&Teapot> COME ON ROCKET YOU CAN DO IT!

<&Teapot> YES! *CENSORED* YOUR ALAKAZAM, JAMES!
<Rocket> YEAH BUDDY! COME AT ME YOU DRUNK CHUMPION!
*PG24 sent out Exeggcutor!
*Rocket used Endeavor! Exeggcutor lost 75% health!
*Exeggcutor used Egg Bomb! Rocket fainted!
*Teapot sent out Killer Bee (Beedrill)!

<Spammy> The situation just keeps getting better for Teapot
<Spammy> The Exeggcutor only has 25% left, Beedrill will get a swift KO to make it 2-3 for Teapot
*PG24 used Full Restore
<Spammy> Or I guess the champion gets to use 3 items. That’s some BS.
*Killer Bee used Twineedle! Exeggcutor lost 45% health!
*Exeggcutor’s REFLECT wore off!
<@IceEspeon> Oh, that sucks for James. He just burned what I ASSUME is his last healing item
<@IceEspeon> And the Exeggcutor is just going to get KO’d thanks to no more reflect.
*Killer Bee used Twineedle! Exeggcutor fainted!
*PG24 sent out Arcanine

<Arcanine> SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
*Killer Bee’s attack was cut by Arcanine’s Intimidate!
*Arcanine used Flamethrower! Killer bee fainted!
*Teapot sent out Pinky (Seaking)!
<@IceEspeon> could this be…?
*Arcanine used Extremespeed! Seaking lost 25% health!
*Pinky used Rain Dance!

*Arcanine used Extremespeed! Seaking lost 25% health!
*Seaking used Waterfall! Arcanine fainted!
<&Teapot> and good riddance.
*PG24 sent out Blastoise!

<Spammy> The champion’s down to his last pokemon, this is tense.
*Teapoyt used Full Restore!
<Spammy> #ItemMeta for Teapot. He brings his Seaking back up to full health
*Blastoise used Hydro Pump! Blastoise’s attack missed!
<~PG24> can u guys hit plz
*The Rain Stopped!
*Blastoise used Hydro Pump! Seaking lost 25% health!
*Seaking used Surf! Blastoise lost 10% health!
<~PG24> where da rain go
<&Teapot> I sure as *censored* am not putting it up for your Blastoise.
*Blastoise used Rain Dance!
<&Teapot> K

My Seaking and James’s Blastoise have an elegant Water-type match that involved a lot of Surfs and a lot of Hydro Pumps. I sold my soul to keep Seaking alive long enough for the rain to run out, I did not want my Wigglytuff coming in against a Blastoise with Rain and possibly even Torrent-boosted Hydro Pumps. That would hurt. Like a lot. Fortunately for me, it won’t matter because this happens:

<~PG24> USE HYDRO PUMP
*There’s no PP left for this move!
<~PG24> gdi why did i thnk it wuz a gud idea 2 drink
*Blastoise lowered its head! Blastoise’s defense rose!
*Pinky used Surf! Blastoise has 10% left!
*Blastoise used Skull Bash! Seaking fainted!
*Teapot sent out Hungrybox (Wigglytuff)!
*Blastoise used Bite! Hungrybox lost 20% health!
*Hungrybox used Thunderbolt! Blastoise fainted!
<&Teapot> YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

RE: The Worst of the Worst - Teapot's LeafGreen Playthrough - Chapter 13! Elite Four Challenged!

CHAPTER 14

*Teapot has joined #PalletTown
<!PMJ> Ah, Teapot, you made it!
<~Teapot> Yeah, I didn’t stick around to take James’s champion position
<~Teapot> tbh I’d just rather run around doing random stuff
<!PMJ> Seems legit
<!PMJ> Can I see your pokedex?
<!PMJ> hmm…you’ve caught 56
<~Teapot> n_n
<!PMJ> It looks like you’re putting in an honest effort
<!PMJ> When you manage to fill it some more, come and see me at my lab
<~Teapot> …wat
<~Teapot> I thought you needed 55 for post-game
<!PMJ> NOPE LOL GET REKT
*PMJ has left #PalletTown

Scumbag PMJ gets me again! I fly to Celadon City since it’s the place that sells evolution stones. I use a moon stone on Kokoloko to evolve it into Nidoqueen, and another one on Giant Rat to evolve it into Nidoking. I then purchase a couple of thunderstones and evolve my Eevee (Thor) into Jolteon. I also evolve my Pikachu, who is nicknamed after the best Smash Bros Brawler ever, into a Raichu, putting me up to a quick 60 species, and then I fly back to Pallet Town.

*Teapot has joined #lab
<!PMJ> hohoo, this is turning into quite the respectable pokedex!
<~Tepaot> …
<!PMJ> …
<~Teapot> ARE YOU KIDDING ME
<!PMJ> lol just messing with you. WELCOME TO THE POST-GAME
<!PMJ> There’s new pokemon species in the sevii islands, go catch them, etc etc.
<!PMJ> Fill the national dex, etc etc
<!PMJ> More importantly though, next time you challenge the elite 4, they’ll be leveled up
<~Teapot> I know
<!PMJ> And the regular 4 will have 1 new pokemon while PG24 will have 2
<!PMJ> When you re-challenge, you must have at least 2 new pokemon
<~Teapot> butbut…I like my team : (
<!PMJ> Suck it up buttercup
<!PMJ> Now go fill my national dex while I sit here and do professor-related things
<!PMJ> ie: play smash 4 all day
<!PMJ> oh I almost forgot
*PMJ has invited PG24 into #Lab
<~PG24> ?
<!PMJ> Do everything I just told Teapot about
*PMJ has kicked PG24 out of #Lab
*PMJ has kicked Teapot out of #Lab

After filling James in, I flew to Vermillion city, got my team back out of the PC, and hopped on the boat to One Island where surprise surprise, peer needed help getting things to work again.

<!peer> Sup teapot
<~Teapot> o/
<!peer> Caught more pokemon I see? Maybe I can be useful to you
<~Teapot> yeah yeah, find the gemstone that gets the network machine to work
<~Teapot> then I can trade with people from RSE
<~Teapot> Not a problem, just need the Rainbow Pass
<!peer> thanks breh, except you gotta find the Ruby first
<~Teapot> ohhhh right
<~Teapot> I’ll brb with that
*Teapot has joined #MtEmber
<~Teapot> HEY SCRUBS GIVE ME THE RUBY
<Blah237> no gtfo
<DarkVoid> UGH JUST GO AWAY

Well, my team is ~Level 55-60, while Blah and DV’s team are all ~Level 35. Needless to say, it did not end well for Blah and DarkVoid. Before they scampered off, I got them to tell me one of the passwords into the Rocket warehouse, which was “erior to Dee En Ay.” Then like any sane human, I stepped into the cave they were guarding. Going into a cave in the middle of a volcano seems smart right? Then I realized nobody on my team knew strength…ran back to One Island, withdrew my Nidoqueen, and came back.

<~Teapot> wtf is that
<Slugma> bruh
<~Teapot> It looks weak, I’m gonna catch it
<Slugma> Screw you >:[
*Teapot sent out Hungrybox
*Hungrybox used Sing!
<Hungrybox> Just shake it off, shake it off
<Hungrybox> I-I-I shake it off, shake it off
<Slugma> zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
<~Teapot> You really need to learn better music
*Teapot chucks an Ultra Ball. Gotcha, Slugma was caught!
*Slugma is now known as Vesuvius
<~Teapot> Hey look something shiny that looks expensive
*Teapot has obtained the Ruby!

After exiting the cave, I flew back to One Island and went to the PokeCenter. I decided to retire Shrooms the Parasect from my team, replacing him with Vesuvius the Slugma. PMJ said I needed 2 new pokemon, and Slugma will be the first. I promptly used all of the fire TMs I had in my possession on it. I then approached Peer, and handed over the Ruby.

<~Teapot> here, have a Ruby
<!peer> Nice!
<!peer> …can I ask one more giant favor of you?
<~Teapot> figures
<!peer> While I was studying gemstones, I discovered I need another one
<~Teapot> of course you do.
<!peer> one that forms a pair with the ruby
<~Teapot> probably the sapphire.
<~Teapot> wait…
<~Teapot> Ruby and Sapphire gems allow you to trade with Ruby and Sapphire version
<!peer> …yeah?
<~Teapot> WHY HAVEN’T I NOTICED THIS BEFORE
<!peer> you are stupid
<!peer> and dumb
<~Teapot> wtfffffffff mind = blown
*peer hands teapot a Rainbow Pass!
*Teapot has been kicked out of #OneIsland

Mind still reeling over this discovery that I just made (yes, IRL I actually am just making this discovery for the first time,) I headed over to Four Island for the next part of my quest.

*Teapot has joined #FourIsland
<~PG24> Sup teapot
<~Teapot> NO OH GOD NO I’M NOT READY FOR A RIVAL BATTLE
<~PG24> Don’t worry, I’m not going to battle you. (yet.)
<~PG24> anyways you should sight see and check out Icefall Cave, it’s pretty neat
<~Teapot> I’m actually looking to pick up a sapphi-
<~PG24> A-HEM. YOU SHOULD SIGHT SEE
<~PG24> AND CHECK OUT ICEFALL CAVE A-HEM.
<~Teapot> ?
<~Teapot> OOOHHH. I guess I’ll go sight-seeing and check out icefall cave
<~Teapot> ;)
<~PG24> attaboy
*PG24 has left #FourIsland

I mosey on over to Icefall Cave. On the way, I pass a house with a mailbox that reads “Professor Palutena’s house.” I guess this is where Bippa retires to whenever he gets bored of pokemon. Nice place to retire to. Tropical island with a completely iced-over cave. Pretty neat. Anyways, I entire Icefall Cave and I’m about to go get the HM for Waterfall when I remember – Seaking learned Waterfall via level up. I can skip that part lol!

*Teapot has joined #IcefallCave
<&ProfPalutena> Keep your hands off of the pokemon here or you’ll have me to answer to!
<Lugia123> Oh shut up. We can do whatever we want with the pokemon that we catch
<~Teapot> Not if we have anything to say about it.
<&ProfPalutena> !
<&ProfPalutena> These people have been selling pokemon for money.
<&ProfPalutena> Take the one on the right, will you?
<~Teapot> nice! We haven’t tag-teamed since we built Fortissimus Unus
<Lugia123> 3 grunts against an e4 and the champion
<Lugia123> I call bs hax
*Lugia123 sent out Zubat!
*Teapot sent out Slugma!

Slugma was only slightly lower in levels, but it knew both Fire Blast and Overheat. It took out Lugia123 with no problems at all. 3 Fire Blasts later, Lugia123’s Zubats and Golbats were nothing but burned piles of ashes on the ground. Before scampering off, Lugia123 informed me of the werehouse on Five Island. Guess where I headed next!!!?!?!

*Teapot has joined #FiveIsland
<Blah237> This area’s strictly off-limits! Out!
<~Teapot> top keke
*Teapot sent out Vesuvius!
*Blah sent out Rattata!
<~Teapot> GET BODI- oh you’re like 15 levels higher.
<~Teapot> When did that happen?
*Teapot withdrew Vesuvius + Sent out Pinky (Seaking)!

After this game, I put the EXP Share on Slugma to raise it more quickly. 15 levels lower is like a lot. There was a couple more guards on the way to the warehouse, but my team handled them without any problems. When I say “without any problems,” what I actually mean is Slugma is such a pathetic excuse for a pokemon that it got wrecked and fainted a total of 4 times- twice to Gloom. GLOOM. So much for Fire beating Grass. A couple more Bird Keepers were along the way, as well as the Metal Coat…not that it matters because I don’t possess the means to trade/trade back a Scyther/Onix. What is important, however, is that my Slugma grew to Lv. 38, evolving into Magcargo. The extra resistances will hopefully be nice. After that, I pressed onwards to Six Island!

*Teapot has joined #SixIsland
<~PG24> Sup Teapot
<~Teapot> AAGH I’M STILL NOT READY FOR A RIVAL BATTLE
<~PG24> haha nah, I’m actually just dipping. Can’t fill the national dex just from the islands
<~PG24> I’m gonna go train some more for our next fight
<~Teapot> oh ok. See ya
<~PG24> o/
*PG24 has left #SixIsland
<~Teapot> Now that I’m here, I have a most important stop to make…

After stocking up on full restores, I headed straight to Water Path and north, where I eventually made it to pattern bush. There were a lot of trainers, most bug catchers. I knew Magcargo would probably bop them pretty easily, but I needed another pokemon first. I planned on making it hold the EXP Share while I trained up Magcargo, and this pokemon was the most important pokemon of my entire journey thusfar. Unfortunately I was slapped across the face with a heavy dose of reality when:

<!PMJ> Teapot, you know Sunkern isn’t available in LeafGreen right?
<~Teapot> …wha
<!PMJ> It’s only catchable in Emerald extended Safari Zone.
<~Teapot> …UUUUUUGH MY PLAYTHROUGH IS RUINED
<~Teapot> I WAS GOING TO HAVE SUNFLORA WEAK JOKES BUT NOW I CAN’T
<~Teapot> NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*Teapot sobs
<!PMJ> There there. You’ll just have to catch something else!
<~Teapot> *siiiiiiigh*
*Teapot chucks an Ultra Ball at a Spinarak
*Spinarak is now known as Aragog
*Teapot gives EXP Share to Aragog

So after that major disappointment, I went back up to Pattern Bush and slapped around all of the Bug-type users with Magcargo. Spinarak had evolved into an Ariados before I made it all the way through. I ran all the way through and continued north, towards Outcast Island. I trolled a couple of swimmers along the way (not with Magcargo, obviously), and then I found myself on the beach of the island, where one of my old friends was!

<DarkVoid> There’s not a single rare pokemon around these parts!
<DarkVoid> That burns me up! I’ll take you on!
*DarkVoid sent out Muk!
*Teapot sent out Rocket (Ratticate)!

Before long, Ratticate had bopped DarkVoid’s entire team of Muk, Golbat, and Ratticate. I ran around Altering Cave pointlessly for a bit because I always manage to convince myself there’s an item or something in here when there’s nothing but Zubat. Then, I flew back to Six Island and headed south. In the Ruin Valley, I found a Sun Stone lying on the ground. A bitter reminder that I cannot use the based Sunflora in this playthrough. I took my anger out on all of the hikers, by slaying all of their Rock-type pokemon and then taking their money. I think I have anger issues. Soon enough, I re-focused my attention on the playthrough, and made it to Dotted Hole.

*Teapot has joined #DottedHole
<Noble_Duck> How do we get in?
<~Teapot> The door is braille. It says “cut”
<Noble_Duck> really?
<~Teapot> CUT IT DOWN, NOBLE DUCK!
*Noble_Duck used Cut!
<~Teapot> wait wtf you can actually cut it down?
<Noble_Duck> YOU HAD ME USE CUT ON AN ANCIENT RUIN
<Noble_Duck> THAT WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE CUT DOWN?
<~Teapot> well, PMJ didn’t tell us we couldn’t, so…
*Noble_Duck used Peck on Teapot!
<~Teapot> ahhh gtfo
*Teapot recalls Noble_Duck
<~Teapot> OK so the braille reads which direction to go in
<~Teapot> I don’t read braille, but 2 letters probably means “up”…
<~Teapot> Left, Right, Down….AHH

Also, drunk Pride and TDL battles, AWWWW YEEEEAAAAH! So full of references.
Congrats on a straightforward E4 beating too, Teapot.

RE: The Worst of the Worst - Teapot's LeafGreen Playthrough - Chapter 14, Postgame has arrived!

Welp. Given that it took me literally a month to get a new laptop, I went ahead and finished the game.

tl;dr:
~Password to Rocket's Warehouse was "Teapot is inferior to DNA" (lel gamemaker PMJ got the shots in)
~I trolled the rocket warehouse. The leader was going to be cast as RogueChomp, but unfortunately I didn't get to use him as a character.
~DNA and I have an epic face-off for the Sapphire which I win. Magcargo > Magnemite/Magneton
~grind grind grind grind
~SD Beedrill and Ice Beam/Thunderbolt Wigglytuff > elite 4 2.0
~Teapot gets teleported back to McDonald's where he promptly throws PMJ and Shining Raikou into the fry vats for abducting him

But now is the important part: I have a couple of questions regarding my playthrough. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this, and I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much, but I think it could be even better. If you could answer a couple of questions for me, I'd love to encorporate your answers into my next playthrough.

1) How did this playthrough's theme (worst of the worst) compare to other playthrough's themes? (Nuzlocke, monotype, choose my team, etc.) Did you like it more or less, and why?

2) How did you like the balance of chat-quote dialogue to regular writing? Would you like to see more of one + less of the other?

3) I tried to have a healthy balance of older, more veteraned members and/or trolls (see: MichaelXD) as well as a mix of awesome newcomers (see: entire active VG squad) to try and please all audiences.
A) Do you think I had a relatively good balance? Would you have liked to see more newer members, more staff, more old trolls, or was it good? Or do you think this is unimportant to enjoying the dialogue/plot line?

4) If you could have changed anything about this playthrough, what would it be and why?

5) What kind of playthrough do you want me to do next time around? Nuzlocke? Choose my team? Monotype? Mono color? Something completely different? What generation of games? (no 3DS, sorry.)

6) ...anything I forgot? closing comments? etc?

Thanks you all so much for reading, and I will DEFINITELY do this again! Please give me feedback and I'm excited to get this rolling again! Thanks so so so much for making this a success!

I think this playthrough went very well.

1)This type of playthrough stacked up very well with the others, and I can see it becoming popular.
2)Chat format was amazing, from everything to keeping it straight who was talking to being able to add that extra bit of comedy.
3)In my opinion, you need more old trolls so that WPM can smite them!>:)
4)I think that there isn't much to change!
5)I think you should do a completely randomized run of Pokemon Platinum using only from the Platinum regional dex (#1-210)!
6)Don't think you forgot anything!

GOOD JOB TEAPOT/ONE APPROVED!!!
10/10 would read again

I like it about as much as I do Nuzlockes. I found the playstyle to be interesting and love the concept of it.

2) How did you like the balance of chat-quote dialogue to regular writing? Would you like to see more of one + less of the other?

I thought the balance was just fine. The chat dialogue really helps with the flavor of the playthrough!

3) I tried to have a healthy balance of older, more veteraned members and/or trolls (see: MichaelXD) as well as a mix of awesome newcomers (see: entire active VG squad) to try and please all audiences.

Having been around here for 6 years, I know or know about many of the people you referenced, but I wonder if any of the newer audience understood it? I enjoyed both myself none-the-less. Maybe next time a little newer but definitely keep the old audience and people in!

4) If you could have changed anything about this playthrough, what would it be and why?

I don't think I would have changed anything.

5) What kind of playthrough do you want me to do next time around? Nuzlocke? Choose my team? Monotype? Mono color? Something completely different? What generation of games? (no 3DS, sorry.)

I think it'd be cool to see you do a Nuzlocke. It'd be funny if you could make a Nuzlocke out of Pokémon Stadium 1 or 2, but I'm not sure if that's possible. Maybe though since you can transfer Pokémon to them.

6) ...anything I forgot? closing comments? etc?

All in all, you did a pretty good job with this and I'd like to see more!

Thanks you all so much for reading, and I will DEFINITELY do this again! Please give me feedback and I'm excited to get this rolling again! Thanks so so so much for making this a success!

I thought it was a very interesting theme; it was nice to see something different from the standard Nuzlocke/CMT runs. There are a lot of Pokémon that get very little love and it's fun to see them represented.

2) How did you like the balance of chat-quote dialogue to regular writing? Would you like to see more of one + less of the other?

I think the chat quote style worked well for your type of writing/humour. Do whatever feels natural and best to you, otherwise it'll probably feel like a slog.

3) I tried to have a healthy balance of older, more veteraned members and/or trolls (see: MichaelXD) as well as a mix of awesome newcomers (see: entire active VG squad) to try and please all audiences.

I personally enjoy the references to members, though I can see how some people, especially newer folk, might be turned off by all these things they can't understand. I think, in the future, if you want to do something like this again with members, you could add something kind of like a member Pokédex? Just a quick blurb about each of the people you reference/talk about, so people who don't know them don't feel as left out. Besides, it would also be pretty funny. :p

4) If you could have changed anything about this playthrough, what would it be and why?

Less broken laptop. I kind of forgot about this until I saw your PM!

5) What kind of playthrough do you want me to do next time around? Nuzlocke? Choose my team? Monotype? Mono color? Something completely different? What generation of games? (no 3DS, sorry.)

Something different, of course. :p Maybe one of those randomizer hacks? I dunno, I'll think on it.

6) ...anything I forgot? closing comments? etc?

Thanks for coming back to this instead of forgetting it, and thank you for PMing me so I remembered, too. :p I'm glad you're back up and working again, and I'm looking forward to seeing your next playthrough. :D

I was thinking of maybe posting a humourous FE playthrough here at some point with members as the various characters... should get back into that...

1) The situations arising by using the bottom of the barrel as team members are too funny for me to pass, so I'd definitely say that it was a good theme.

2) More chat! Seriously now, it's good to narrate, but the main focus should be the chat part, and you have achieved a decent balance between the two.

3) Needs more me I didn't expect so many members to get time on the spotlight. As some kind of a middleman between the veterans and the newer guys, it was nice to see people from both before and after me.

4) You losing so infrequently, I demand a better AI here and now. And you've just used up the broken laptop excuse, so you better find out something else for the next time.

5) Can't really suggest something here... do whatever you see fitting, and I'll trust you on that.

6) Nah, I think you're cool.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, and not dumping it along with your broken laptop. I'll be waiting for your next misadventure.

I think it's fun to try new and original things. It's what keeps it fun and interesting, so I definitely like that you did this. That doesn't mean that the next 5 should also have the same rules, though.

2) How did you like the balance of chat-quote dialogue to regular writing? Would you like to see more of one + less of the other?

I'm personally a big fan of chat quote stories. I could do fine with a whole story in chat quotes. They generally had the funniest things as well (mainly because often you can imagine the person saying them).

3) I tried to have a healthy balance of older, more veteraned members and/or trolls (see: MichaelXD) as well as a mix of awesome newcomers (see: entire active VG squad) to try and please all audiences.

I think it's most fun if the readers know who (most of) the people in the story are. I haven't been around as long as some of you and didn't recognise all the names, but it's impossible to adapt this to every reader. The balance you used was a perfect solution in my opinion.

4) If you could have changed anything about this playthrough, what would it be and why?
N/a

5) What kind of playthrough do you want me to do next time around? Nuzlocke? Choose my team? Monotype? Mono color? Something completely different? What generation of games? (no 3DS, sorry.)
Mono-type Fire in Hoenn for the challenge. Or what about a challenge where you cannot use Pokémon in their final forms? So 3-stage Pokémon would stay in their second form, 2-stage Pokémon in their first form, and 1-stage Pokémon can't be used.

6) ...anything I forgot? closing comments? etc?
Not that I know.

1) I really like the format - it's challenging without being satanically evil, as well as being a chance to see some of the lesser used Pokémon get a position in the spotlight for once.
2) I thought it was great! :D
3) The balance was good, allowing both new members and old members to find things hilarious (which they inevitably were).
4) Nothing.
5) A Wedlocke would be a fun and crazy difficult thing to do on one of the GameCube games, but their double battles make it pretty much the perfect game to do it in.
6) Well done on a brilliant run! :D

ooohh, that last one is interesting. Also, I have to ask, why fire? Just personal preferance? Or is it difficulty, because I'm only coming up with 4 Fire-types in R/S/E. (Blaziken, Magcargo, Camerupt, and Torkoal?)

What is a Wedlocke? I don't think I've ever heard of this

I think it's a combination of the lack of fire types and the abundance of water-type Pokémon, especially if you were to play (Alpha) Sapphire.

There is a description of the rules of the Wedlocke here.

The main rule of it is that all of the Pokémon in your party are paired up by gender, and these pairs can only be broken when one of the Pokémon in the pair dies. You can't deposit Pokémon in the box, so the pairs you have in your party are the ones you have to stick with!
