Hello world! In the spirit of the new season (and new ratings) I will be posting reports for all of my events that I go to with an updated count of my championship points. So first of all was the Las Vegas Battle Roads! I was not very excited for the event, so I waited until an hour before the event (ten minutes after I woke up today) to work on my deck. I stole my brother's Stage 1 Rush deck (because I didn't want to play my prebuilt Megazone deck), and I made a few changes. He still doesn't know that I stole it from him. At the event, we were ready to go!

Round 1 VS Relicanth/Mew:

This game was a comedy of errors! My opponent had a really bad start (as did he all day). He only barely got a jumpluff in the lost zone at turn 5. I got my turn 2 Yanmega (And Zoroark... but it didn't matter). I was able to pick off free prizes with Yanmega, but he eventually got Mew. In the most amazing turn of events, he plays many pluspowers, knocks out my active yanmega with leaf guard. I promoted Donphan (with no energy), play two pluspower and a Junk arm, and then a juniper. I WIFF ON THE ENERGY. For the next 3 turns, I had a donphan active with no energy. I eventually get it KO'd, and I search with communication. Turns out I didn't play fighting energies... w00. I was able to win with Yanmega, but i counted my deck after the game to find it had 54 cards. ... I am a genius. I bought a Krookodile theme deck and added 6 fighting energies. I'm astonished I won that game in retrospect... Donphan is key for that matchup.
1-0 (now with fighting energies)

Round 2 VS Donphan/Excadrill/Machamp

This game wasn't much of a challenge. I promoted my Donphan (now with fighting energies) and proceeded to sweep all of his pokemon. He was new, so I gave him some pointers after the game, and I wrote a list of Supporters that he should work on getting.
2-0

Round 3 VS Albert (ukulelepichu) Donkstuff.dek

This was a weird game. I opened Phanpy and he went first. He opened Luvdisk (look it up), and junipered to miss the water energy. I collector on my turn to get myself out of the donk. He drew his top card and windmill slammed the Water energy (One card late... as always). The game went on, but I eventually got myself set up pretty well. There came a point where I had a lone donphan against a plusle, a minun, and a basculin. He had a DCE on the basculin, and I couldn't heavy impact it until next turn. I judged and drew my one Lost Remover to remove the DCE from the basculin, and I proceeded to win the game from there. Good game and I liked his deck :)
3-0 (LUCK FOR TEH WINZ)

Round 4 VS Al B. (MadHatter's dad) Sunflora/Lilligant/Vileplume

This game went pretty well for me. He hit 50/50 on his lilligant flips, but his first play is what won me the game. He played dual ball and collector to fill his bench. He only had one oddish in play. I would be able to Linear attack all three of his oddish to stay out of trainer lock. After the game, I told him the game would have been very different had his first play been for two oddish. This really shows how one simple misplay can outright lose you the game. He showed me that he had a vileplume and a candy in hand at almost all times... but not enough time to be able to evolve Oddish. I had a very good setup, so I may have won had he been able to play Vileplume, but the game was no contest because of his bench configuration. If there was a game to learn something from, this is that game.
4-0

Round 5 VS Feraligatr/Golduck/thing

He mulligans and shows me 7 water energies... I saw where this game was going ;D He had a fairly poor start. He eventually got a feraligatr out, but it was far too behind to get anywhere in the game. I had two donphans on bench both with 3 fighting energies each (I play those apparently), so his golducks would get revenge KO'd really quickly. He told me it was his first event, so he did fairly well.
5-0

So that's my swiss! Pretty successful so far. We went to top 4, and here our our matchups:

Al B. (Madhatter's father) with his Vileplume/Lilligant/Sunflora VS Josh B. (Madhatter) Mew/Tornadus
Me (Zoroark/Yanmega/Donphan) VS Albert donkthingy.dek

Game 1:

This went very similarly to my earlier game against Albert. I got another donk scare (not as luck based, though), but I survived. I was able to setup a yanmega and a donphan, and the game just ended as it went along. I was dominating the game, and there was little Albert could do.
6-0

Game 2:

Don't wanna talk about it. He opens Luvdisk to my Phanpy (60 HP... blame my brother). He windmill slams water and owns me
6-1

Game 3:

See first game. When I am able to setup stuff, it usually goes in my favor due to our matchup. His deck seems good if he can stop his opponent from attacking for a turn, but because of my build, I just KO'd a dude every turn. GG
7-1

Now came my game against Hatter! This was a pretty interesting game... very interesting.

Game 1:

This game was really interesting. I was able to get my turn 2 yanmega against his turn 2 Cinccino + Mew. We traded prizes pretty evenly. It felt like he didn't know the matchup amazingly well (or he didn't have certain cards). He didn't use Tornadus on me at all (which would have been my worst threat as I can't OHKO it). He never got a very good time to use Jirachi, so that didn't help him either.
8-1

Game 2:

I open Junk Arm, Junk Arm, Energy, Energy, Phanpy, Juniper, Judge. I couldn't judge, so I junipered instead. I drew garbage. I PONTed next turn, and got nothing. He basically swept me.
8-2

Game 3:

This game was pretty even. He setup Mew early and started going agro Tornadus (what I would think his deck wants to do). I eventually make an amazing PlusPower, Junk Arm, Juniper into Pluspower, and Zoroark play. I controlled the tempo of the game, and won out. Great game and interesting deck ;D
9-2.

Well this was a successful event! I got my Pokeball Victory Cup, and my packs. In my first three packs, I got garbage. In my last pack, I got a full body Thundrus, a catcher, and a foil great ball. SCORE!
