What is everyone's thoughts on the trainer gust of wind releasing in B/W? Will it help to even the playing field with SP dominating or will it boost trainer lock builds?

The advent of GOW in the game will make the format "faster" (for the sake of a better word) because now it will be even less safe to build up stuff on the bench. You're never going to get a stage 2 with 4 energy out because it will get sniped before its ready. Though this isn't entirely new because of Luxray GL Lv. X, it will be even worse because most decks will run Pokemon Catcher. Since it will be impossible to get out a heavy attacker, people will go with faster decks with lower energy requirements.

Thats my 2 cents anyway.

^even then you do an uxie drop what ever is disposable will be brought up and sniped.

It'll definitely increase the playing of Vile____ everywhere. And after rotation, I think VilePluff will be big. Just what I think.

well considering the whole rule changing thing with everything being under the "Trainer" umbrella (trainers, supporter, stadiums etc) the use of trainer lock may increase, though hopefully they will errata Vileplume UD and Gothitelle BW poké-body/ability so that it isn't so over-powering, especially Gothitelle seeing as it could possibly stop your opponent playing any T/S/S but you're free to play them as you please.

Gothitelle would relegate Vileplume UD to the trash bin if it sees print as is. Gothitelle would then eat the whole planet earth in one gulp.

If Gothitelle actually stops supporter plays, given the rotation coming, game over. That said I'm fairly sure this is you guys reacting incorrectly - have you spoken to Japanese players about this?

6obviously it hasnt has as big of an impact to have huge news...so no not that big of an impact. but lostgar is still dominating...well was dominating there

gothitelle wont be broken. it only blocks "goods"
which is the japanese version of trainers

our new trainers will be classified into trainer's:
goods
support
stadium

from my knowledge, there isnt anything that can block supporter play. thats just broken

^Still, CurseGar doesn't do enough damage and is too slow to do well as of now. And by the time the format's slow enough for it to be good, it'll be gone.

Donphan will dominate. E-belt it, snipe whatever for 80+ and he can't even get hit that hard because of his body.

We are currently experiencing a format that is ridiculously fast. The next one will be much slower due to the lose of Sp tools and BTS (with other things like Sableye, G-dos...). Please do not say that there will be rare candies, because Trainer Lock will be played a lot. This bring us to my next point, which the next format will mostly be more locking and disruptive (GOW, Trainer Lock). Maybe (I said MAYBE) this is the reason why GOW has been introduced to the meta.

PokeCatcher and the other trainers from BW almost make Gdos unbeatable IMO, I mean now it will be able to snipe luxchomps only counter to it Lucarrio or a Luxray that has to sit on the bench for a turn to Lv X. It gets a revive which is just a combe that you dont have to worry about starting with, and gets basically an auto pseudo super scoop up (for healing) with max restore. Vilegar and Gdos will be even bigger once BW comes out.

^You also forgot that professor aragi makes it easier to get magikarps in the discard, making the deck able to hit for 90 on t2 a a lot easier. If they don't do a midseason rotation (which has less and less of a chance for happening every passing day) then the format will become utterly unfixable.

Gyarados will be beast. That professor card (can't remember name) makes Gyarados into a speed demon. Discard magicarps while drawing 7 cards, that's fast. Pokemon catcher makes benched targets easy to hit and Gyarados will be hitting for 90-110 t1 if they are released in BW.
