There aren't many things that PO me more in the pokemon franchise than world champion decks. Sure, they're a nice idea on paper, because people can see the deck that won, and learn from it. The problem is they don't sell well, and I'm convinced only two kinds of people buy them: 1) Kids and parents that don't know they aren't legal for play 2) People trying to scam by selling them online. This is the one that really pisses me off. This guy has a picture of the real one, and the title doesn't indicate its a worlds card, but there is a tiny "WC" in the description that is your only clue. Some unfortunate buyers don't know what that means, so they just wasted $60. I know most of you will say "well thats why I don't buy online" The problem is if you don't have a very active league nearby, thats pretty much the only way you get cards.

So here's my alternative suggestion. Make a world champion book. Like the platinum strategy guide. Perferably with a promo, so more people will buy it. IMO, this will be more educational than the worlds deck because the winner will also be able to explain the strategy and what all the techs are for. I could not, for the life of me, figure out why the G&G deck had that random jolteon * in there. Until someone explained it to me.

Gotta love how it says "You can't lose with this card in your arsenal".
And I do kind of agree...either that or make the cards actually playable. That'll lower the value of Luxray X quickly...-imagines someone winning with a 300-dollar deck-

They do have a book and it comes with the deck. If someone is to bid on something on eBay they should read the whole item description instead of going "OMGEE LOOK AT THE PRETTY PICTURE" and bidding 70$. WC decks are a very good idea and a great way see how your personal deck plays against other decks that are known to be successful. The lesson to be learned if to READ DESCRIPTIONS BEFORE BUYING ONLINE!

Sometimes they don't even put the WC in the auction description, though.

I like that idea by giving away a little book or something with all cards printed in it, and showing how each card work in this deck. Maybe you could get a promo trainer each time you get it?

Maybe a reprint of TSD.

I agree very much so! I once watched somebody trade a WC Flygon Lv.X for a real Luxray GL Lv.X.... I died a little on the inside....

Not only should they do a book outlining the decks used at Worlds, but they should also include the Worlds Promo card with it so people who can't afford to travel to Worlds can actually get those cards for once.

I would have said something if I saw this trade going.

Which would be fraud, and Paypal will give you a refund whether you send the item back or not. THey will also freeze the user's account, and they won't be able to sell items or move money until the issue is resolved.

The thing is, it is an official card made by Pokemon USA. It is a Luxray GL LV. X. Its just not from Rising Rivals. Deceptive? Yes. Fraud? No. From an ebayer's point of view, PUSA is making fake cards that you can't legally complain if you get shafted by.

The seller is legitly making money, but in a way that's looked down upon. The buyer should read what he's purchasing before actually making the transaction. Of-course I do admit this is a very cheap way of making money and involves ripping people off.

The World Championship decks make good decks to test your deck against. I am personally for them, but they're quite useless competitively.

the world champions decks i hate. because if you buy on ebay sometimes they wont even list its world champion. its only good to test with and against

They're a terrible ideia... I once bought three decks to get some rare cards for my collection and then I realized they're not like the main set version, which annoys me cuz I want the main set ones, not non-foil signed cards... They're basically fake cards... It's not even worth for collectors IMO...

I really never saw the point in the WC decks in the first place. It's just a scam by Nintendo to get parents to buy cards for their little kids who don't know the cards inside aren't "real".I've seen it to many times at BRs.

These decks are what are structure decks should look like...just water them down a bit. (okay In some cases a lot)
Because let's face it are current structure decks are garbage with the whole Pyramid Line, lines that go nowhere, and 2 energy types. It would be better to see the decks have a strategy going with it like the yugioh structure decks which are playable compared to the Pokemon ones. The worlds decks in this case HAVE a strategy , it even tells you how the deck is played right on the back of the packaging. Like I said just water the worlds deck cards accordingly (and make have a book or something come with it telling you which cards would be needed to make the deck better) so they can still make money off boosters and market them as structure decks and the "Non Playable" cards would be gone.

No. Absolutely not. The seller is posting the item as a specific item and then delivering another. That is THE DEFINITION of Fraud. If this happens, report it to Paypal and guess what? You'll get your money back, and the person selling will get frozen.

Deceptive would be if he didn't post a picture. Fraud is posting a description of an item and then sending another item. Period.

In his case, its pretty iffy, but what I was talking about was just listing the card with no picture and not specifying its a worlds card. like the title would be "Luxray GL Lv. X MINT" and the Description says " Luxray GL Lv. X in great condtion with no wear or signs of use" You would have no legal case against him if he sold you a worlds card, because he didn't specify either way.

So basically they're selling you a deck of proxies. You could still make the deck with your own cards and proxies if you wanted.

Caveat Emptor in the case of purchasing a card without a guarantee of what it is. Buyer Beware.

True, but if they didn't make the decks, you wouldn't have to beware.
