Pokemon Thoughts on X & Y against Black & White

I think X & Y has more promise than Black & White had. Partly because the game is coming out on 3DS instead of DS but I also like the pokemon designs more (well most of them). Is it just me or does anyone else agree? I mean after Black & White I stopped watching the series (not because of the pokemon) I got into other things, and was distracted.. I think X & Y might pull me back into my interest of Pokemon.
 
we dont have enough infromation to actually have an opinion on whether its better than BW or not

i like the new pokemon as well, but i'd still wait until they're all revealed before i decide which gen had better pokemon designs in general
 
As long as Cilan and Iris are replaced in the Anime, I will like Pokemon X and Y WAAAAAY more. Also, the games look kind of Colosseum/XD-ey. So yeah, 3DS is the way to go :D!

I agree I don't like Cilan or Iris, but if they don't use anyone of the old characters (Brock at least) I hope they come up with some better ones. And you're right, I never thought about it but it really does look like Colosseum/XD. I still think it's going to be a good game, interesting to say the least. I know I'm looking forward to it, I'm going to buy a 3DS just so I can play it :D
 
I'm kind of back and forth after seeing what the text boxes/font is like. I'm still getting it though :D!

And I really hope that we'll be able to move diagonally.
 
I don't play BW, but the gameplay videos I've seen have been really impressive. I like the design of the revealed pokemon and love how they are done as models.

It's been confirmed we can move diagonal :D

As for me, I'm not going to make a proper judgement between the 2 until I've played through X and have seen everything.

So far, X/Y look very promising tho, but I think I had the same opinion of B/W around this time before their release as well.
 
Gen V is my favorite but it looks like Gen Vi could come close to that, perhaps even top it. I loved every single Pokemon in BW, and I mean it, and so far I like a majority of the XY Pokemon.
 
I loved Black and White and they were a much improvement from Diamond and Pearl of which I struggled to really enjoy. X and Y however look like they're gonna top that - the Pokémon revealed so far stand up as some of the best in my opinion.

I'm guessing things will look like this to me:

1. Johto
2. Kanto
3. Kalos
4. Unova / Hoenn
6. Sinnoh
 
Anyone else notice that Pokemon Y sounds exactly like Pokemon White? It's kinda... strange, I guess.

When you say it, you realize some weird crap is happening in Pokemon. xD

But seriously, now that I think of it, I'd hate to say goodbye to BW as the latest game. When BW came out, I had gone COMPLETELY (I wrote completely with caps in 3 seconds on my phone. I'm so proud :3) insane. I had to play them right away and got White one hour after it was released.

But in XY's case, I'm really not that excited, even though I'm looking forward to play them. They seem pretty cool. :D But something about them kinda scares me. This is a great chance for Game Freak to ruin the franchise we all love and call Pokémon, taking so many big steps forward. (Why did that <- make me think of Avicii's song Silhouettes? xD) I'm not that worried, however. Without dual-type moves, I'll frickin' love X and Y. xD

Can't be any worse than players not buying the XY games just to play their Gen VI Pokemon on Pokemon Showdown online for the sole purpose of competitive battling. No trading, breeding for natures, abilities, movesets, etc. just straight up battling without having to pay $35-40 for the actual games towards Game Freak making money while you can play on your PC, smartphone, or tablet device free of charge.

As you said Game Freak is taking alot of big steps forward with X and Y so perhaps it might cause the creators of Pokemon Showdown to have difficulty implementing stuff from Gen VI onto Showdown like Sky Battles and the new 3D Pokemon Sprites with their animations compared to the 2D Pokemon Sprites and their attack animations we all know and loved since Gen I. Nintendo/Game Freak has been cracking down on people hacking their Pokemon games but not nearly enough as they should since they don't want to make themselves look as bad as Microsoft with the XBox One.
