Ok, I've been trading for a while, and have 7 refs. During my time browsing other people's trade thread, there are some things I have notice that make it very easy or hard to read and trade.
Here are some things I have found that make a good trade thread:
1. Titles of set names (ex: Great Encounters) are bold
2. Cards that are holo have the word holo in parentheses and are after the cards' name (ex: Buck's Training (rev holo))
3. After a list of cards from a current set, there is a blank line before another another set of cards. Ex:
GE:
Dialga (holo)
Porygon-Z
-------------------------------------------
SW:
Gardevoir (holo)
Gallade (rev holo)
4. The name of cards are spelled out completly. (ex: Gardevoir)
5. Rules are listed at the top, and say where the seller is located. A few times, I have seen rules saying "No overseas trading," but there have not stated their own location.
6. Pokemon cards are listed first, then any other types of cards or dvds or etc.
7. Under a set name, all cards are alphebetized. This is very easy if you have Miscrosoft Word. Open Word and type up (or copy/paste) or trade list. Make sure the name of the card comes before the quantity (ex: Flygon 3 (1 rev holo, 2 holo). Once all of the cards are typed up, highlight all of the cards in a set (don't highlight the set name) and click the alphabetize button (it has a picture of an A and a Z and an arrow on it). Then just copy and paste it onto your trade thread.
8. As stated above, the card name comes before the amount.
9. It distinctivly says HAVES and WANTS, and the haves are near the top, and the wants are near the bottom.
10. The only time the owner posts in his/her or trade thread is either to BUMP it every week, or to say "PM you" or "How about this..."
11. Whenever you make a trade, buy new cards, or get rid of old cards, remove/add them to your list immediately!
12. When selling, post the amount after the name of the card, amount, and amount of holos.
13. If you have problems with not trading with a toploader or sleeves or bubble envelope, please state it at the TOP.
I will add to this list if I come across anything else. Please post responses and new ideas on this thread. And fix up your trade thread!
