To N or Not to N (Will N Rotate)

N will not likely make the next rotation. I don't recommend buying 4 N's as you are new to the game and this season is already halfway done. N is a great card; however, there are some pretty good replacements you could get that can be used after the rotation. (Assuming the rotation is XY-On) Shauna, Professor Birch's Observations, VS Seeker and Sycamore all are good choices when the rotation comes.
If you want to spend the money, yes. I wouldn't stockpile on Shauna yet until people start using it to replace N. Yes N is expensive but he got reprinted as a promo card and here at Troll and Toad he's $4.49 US.

Simply put, Shauna isn't that good, sorry. She's a weakened version of Professor Oak's New Theory, a staple during the HG/SS which gave you a fresh hand of 6. Now the extra card just make a difference in the outcome of the match or game. Plus, Shauna doesn't have the disruption element N has. You have to experience seeing you opponent stockpile on resources and then suddenly have to shuffle his/her hand into his/her deck.
So I would say you have to decide yourself; do you want to spend a bit more money on something that may help you do your best at matches or you don't care and not spend that much on Pokemon cards.
