Ruling Tool Retreiver and Head Ringer

Question is, if I use tool retreiver on both my pokemon ex with HeadRinger on them, those HeadRinger go back to their owner hand(opponent hand)? or are they discarded?, thanks in advance.

Head Ringer says "Whenever this card is removed from a Pokemon for any reason, put this card in its owner's discard pile."

Tool Retriever removes Head Ringer from a Pokemon; therefore, Head Ringer goes in its owner's discard pile.

There is currently a bug/issue on PTCGO where this is not the case, but that is incorrect. PTCGO is not a reliable source of rulings.
