Ruling Toterra LVX Attack

My Question is Toterra LVX's attack Vigorous Dash says "Does 30 damage to one of your opponents Benched Pokemon(dont apply weakness and resistance for benched pokemon).Toterra Does 30 damage to itself". My question is that if toterra attacks but i have no bench pokemon can it still use the attack as normal and it jus skips doing 30 to one of my bench or it cant use Vigorous Dash because it cant do everyting nessecary to attck???
 
Um, where does it say that it does 30 to one of your benched Pokemon? It does 30 to Torterra and 30 to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon, as well as 100 to the active.

i did say it does 30 to one of your opponents benched pokemon.
 
^But you wrote it does 30 damage to one of your benched Pokemon.

For the question, if you are saying that if you do 30 to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon but they have no benched Pokemon, they you just wouldn't do that 30 damage to the benched Pokemon. Torterra will still take the damage. In otherwords, you do everything but the benched damage.

ok yeh when i was sayin the question i was sayin it like toterra was attacking me.. another quesiton real quick so the only time u cant perform an attack by not meeting the requirements are cards that say "if you dont do this then this attck does nothing" but attacks that say for example dunsparces bite and run "swtich dunsparce with one of your bench pokemon" u can still do that attck even if u have no benched pokemon because it doesnt say if u dont have any benched pokemon then this attck would do nothing then right?? Sorry this wasnt a quick question.
 
for any cards with wording like this, you "Do as much as you can"

If your opponent had no benched pokemon, you could still use this attack, you just dont do the extra 30 to the bench,
