Ruling Trainers/supporters first turn rule?

Sorry to be a n00b but this always confuses me...


What are the rules regarding supporters and trainers being used first turn?

Is it that both players can use a trainer, but only the player who goes 2nd can use a supporter?

Please help clear this up,

1st player can only play pokemon and energy cards but can't use trainers, tool, staduims or supporters.

2nd play gets to do all of that.

Meaning if you flip to start second, you are allowed to use trainers/supporters/stadiums/tools.
