Ruling Trainers/Supporters Noob Question!

Sorry again im a noob, but while I was playing with my friend, I had a Scott to searchso I searched and got I got 3 Fossil Excavators. He said he was surprised I didn't get my other supporter cards. I did not get any other ones like celio's network, castaway, etc. because some told me you can only serach for a card for whatever it says on the top left side of the card. Is this true? Can I search Castaway from A scott? Please tell me the right way! thanks, im confused
 
Old Supporters are still Supporters, so you can search them out with Scott.
