Introduction
Hey all. I'm Tesagk. I'm new to Pokémon, even though I'm 27. I watched the show when I was a kid, played some of the Gameboy games (Red, Blue, Gold, & Silver?). I did collect some of the cards when I was younger, but I never really played.

I got into MTG in my teenage years, but waned off of playing that in recent years (I still play occasionally).

I picked up Pokémon because my stepson is 6, and, when he cares to apply himself, quite bright, and I figured it would be a nice way to share a game with him. He's still learning the ropes. But h competitive person in me is already trying to do my best to pick up the game and be the best I can be.

I've been playing since February and, at the moment, my primary place to play is PTCGO, though I have plenty of physical cards that I can make into decks as needed.

The Deck
This is attempting to recreate a "standard" Trevenant deck. Try to get Trev out on Turn-1 (Turn-2 or 3 at the latest). It includes Shaymin-EX because.... Shaymin-EX, and also has some finishers on Wobuffet. In case the Trev-train steam runs out.

However, this deck is lacking in consistency. I have a feeling it's because I'm having my trainer cards attempt to do too much and I need to cut back on them. I also really haven't seen Wob in my opponent's decks and I'm wondering if that's causing any problems.

Welcome back to the game and perhaps PokéBeach too.

I also run a Trevenant-Wobbuffet deck, and from my experience, after establishing your deck's core Pokémon, the next critical step is to establish your card-draw/setup "engine", IMO. I strive for a T1 (T2 at the latest) Trevenant Item-lock ; so, cards I feel that are essential to that objective are:

8 card-draw Supporters (consisting of Judge, N, Professor Birch and Professor Sycamore)
3 Trainer's Mail
3 Ultra Ball
3 Wally

And the following lists of cards would have lower/no priority (again, IMO):

Crushing Hammer
Enhanced Hammer
Evosoda
Pokémon Center Lady
Random Receiver
Skyla
Town Map

Consider revising your card-draw engine till it is as consistent as possible in helping you hit the T1/T2 Item-lock 18 out of 20 games (my own personal benchmark).

Thanks. I will take a look into it and report back when I have a chance. The help is very much appreciated.
