So I have been having an immense amount of trouble figuring out which of these decks is the best! So I was wondering if the good people of Pokebeach could help me figure it out. I will organize this thread like this.

  • Decklist:
  • Strategy:
  • Pros:
  • Cons:

Let's get started!

Regice/Bunnelby/Hammers : Frozen Legend

Pokemon: 10
  • 4x Regice
  • 2x Shaymin-EX
  • 2x Jirachi
  • 2x Bunnelby
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 38
  • 4x Sycamore
  • 3x Birch
  • 2x Lysandre
  • 2x Team Flare Grunt
  • 1x Xerosic
  • 1x Hex Maniac
  • 1x Judge
  • 4x Crushing Hammer
  • 4x VS Seeker
  • 4x Ultra Ball
  • 3x Float Stone
  • 2x Assault Vest
  • 2x Enhanced Hammer
  • 2x Head Ringer
  • 3x Rough Seas
Energy:
  • 8x Water
  • 4x DCE
Strategy: So the strategy in this deck is to render your opponents deck completely useless by using Regice to not let them attack with their EXs. Hammers are used to get rid of all of your opponents energy.

Pros: Destroys almost every single deck in the meta except for Yveltal.

Cons: Dies against other energy distruption decks.

Yveltal-EX/Zoroark/Gallade: Corrupt King

Pokemon: 14

  • 3x Yveltal-EX
  • 3x Yveltal
  • 2x Shaymin-EX
  • 2x Gallade
  • 2x Zoroark
  • 2x Zorua
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 38
  • 4x Sycamore
  • 3x Birch
  • 2x Lysandre
  • 2x Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick
  • 1x Hex Maniac
  • 1x Giovanni's Scheme
  • 4x VS Seeker
  • 4x Muscle Band
  • 4x Ultra Ball
  • 4x Trainer's Mail
  • 4x Acro Bike
  • 1x Escape Rope
  • 1x Battle Compressor
Energy: 11
  • 7x Dark
  • 4x DCE
Strategy: Setup revenge KO-ers and then win off of prize trade and such. Dish out heavy overwhelming damage.

Pros: No bad matchups really other than Night March. Fast and can be very easy to use.

Cons: Relies heavily on DCE.

Tyrantrum/Giratina/Bronzong
Pokemon 15

  • 2 Tyrantrum-EX
  • 2 Giratina-EX
  • 2 Zoroark
  • 2 Zorua
  • 2 Bronzong
  • 2 Bronzor
  • 2 Shaymin-EX
  • 1 Hoopa-EX
  • 1 Aegislash-EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 35
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 3 Professor Birch's Observations
  • 1 Hex Maniac
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 2 Pokemon Fan Club
  • 1 Judge
  • 1 Bridgette
  • 1 AZ
  • 4 Sky Field
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 VS Seeker
  • 2 Float Stone
  • 2 Battle Compressor
  • 1 Escape Rope
  • 2 Level Ball
  • 2 Trainers Mail
Energy: 10
  • 4 DDE
  • 6 Metal Energy
Strategy: Use Giratina/Tyrantrum to deal massive damage while consistently getting attackers up onto the field.

Pros: Heavy hitting and has a decent speed.

Cons: Again... Distruption kills the deck.

Alright thanks for the input! Please tell me which deck would probably be the best. Thanks again!

How does the Regice deck do against item lock? Seems like Vileplume would be pretty devastating.

Bronzong/Dragons also has various ways to get around Regice, including the new Jirachi, which I think should be included in the decklist. Tyrantrum can also smash through Regice, but it's a big cost for only 1 prize I guess.

IMO it's a toss-up between the latter 2 decks. Yveltal is a bit difficult prize-wise for Dragonzong, though.

1. I haven't had huge problems with item lock decks actually. It really depends on the main attacker though.

2. I can just use float stone to move around it while using water energy to one hit KO Jirachi.

3. I strongly agree. I only added in Regice because it has good matchups against a lot of the decks in the format right now.

Yveltal beats Regice if Regice does not play Mega Manectric, if it goes agro with Zoroark/Baby Yveltal (with Muscle Band), if it uses lysandre a lot, and if it gets Gallade out.
Yveltal beats Tyrantrum if it plays hammers, if it attaches special energy early and wisely, if it hits lysandres on bench Tyrantrums before they OHKO, and if they abuse Hex Maniac before Hoopa, Shaymin, Bronzong, or Zoroark can be used effectively.

Regice beats Yveltal if Regice plays Mega Manectric, if it can KO benched Zoruas before they evolve, if it goes agro with Bunnelby, hammers, Flare Grunt, etc.
Regice beats Tyrantrum if you attach two energy to Regice lol...it's pretty much GG for them. Kill Zoruas before they have a chance to OHKO you.

Tyrantrum beats Yveltal if it can get the turn two KO on a benched Yveltal EX, if the opponent plays down special energy on too many pokemon (and go agro with Aegislash), and if yveltal does not get gallade out.
Tyrantrum beats Regice if you pickup the KO on a Regice before it attacks, if you set up two zoruas on the bench, and if you play down energy wisely.

If you look at top cut matches, these are major cutters at a lot of tournaments, and no one really definitely beats the other except for Regice Vs. Tyrantrum, but most Regice decks run other attackers/setup such as M Manectric or Vileplume, so there are ways around it.

@Elbow I don't think that is very accurate good sir.

You're definitely not right about the Regice Vs. Tyrantrum EX match up... How does Regice automatically win when it has two energy attached? Despotic Fang goes right through the effects of resistance blizzard. Now Regice is just a 120 Hp Pokémon with an attack that hits for 70 damage for three energy. There's nothing special about that. Tyrantrum is a 180 Hp Pokémon that is easily charged and recharged thanks to metal links and Double Dragon Energy. You can also knock out Regice with Bronzong if you have to. I play Tyrantrum EX and I won almost every match against Regice. And I play against Regice more than I want to.

Manectric/Regice is very good against Yveltal EX. The weakness and immunity are mostly in favour of Manectric/Regice. Zoroark is useless as an attacker when your friends know how to play around it. Simply put I can only hit for 40/70 because they only put 1/2 Pokémon on their bench (plus they keep sniping Zorua). Gallade is definitely a thread to both M-Manectric and Regice. it unfortunately lost me a few matches. The utility of this new Yveltal EX variant is great, but it is mostly overthrown by the fast and powerful attacker that is Manectric EX.

You are right. I forgot to take that into account with the deck. I would still say though that Regice has somewhat of an even matchup if the opponent fails to get out Zoroark or switch cards because of Lysandre.

The OP only talked about Regice, so I put it into terms of with and without Mega Manectric. Clearly, Manectric obliterates Yveltal even with shadow circle. And like you said Zoroark is only good if the manectric player does not know what he is doing.
I think that the deck does much better against Gallade with the addition of Glalie EX. It does 150 damage if you and your opponent have the same amount of cards for only WCC. In some cases, this could be bad because you need the energy and cards in hand to pull it off. At the same time, it OHKOes Gallade and is not one shot back by Gallade nor Yveltal (unless if it has 4 energy attaches), which is really the only benefit the card has. And paralysis is never bad tbh.
